Treatment of swelling of the legs according to recipes from the newspaper “Vestnik ZOZH”.
Swelling of the legs - causes - treatment - folk remedies. From a conversation with a doctor
In summer, with the onset of warm days, women often experience swelling of their legs, especially in the evening. What to do, what is the reason, how to relieve swelling of the legs with folk remedies? The head physician of the Moscow Medsi clinic, Zulfiya Guseinovna Guseinova, answers all these questions.
Causes of leg swelling in summer
Leg swelling is closely related to the amount of fluid you drink. In the summer we drink more, so swelling may appear.
Swelling of the legs in women is also directly related to hot weather, because under the influence of the sun their hormonal levels are activated, which causes fluid retention in the woman’s body.
What to do to avoid leg swelling in the heat? It’s not so much to drink less, but to limit foods that can cause increased thirst: If you sharply reduce the flow of fluid into the body, water, on the contrary, will be deposited in the tissues as a reserve, which will cause swelling of the legs.
To avoid excessive thirst, reduce the consumption of salty, spicy, fatty foods, sweets, spices, and give up carbonated drinks.
If swelling of the legs first appeared without the above-mentioned visible reasons, then the causes of the swelling need to be clarified. Examinations required: ultrasound of the kidneys, thyroid gland, examination of the vessels of the lower extremities, ECG. If swelling of the legs occurs in women, it is necessary to visit a gynecologist.
Many people know why their legs swell in their case. The reasons may be the following:
1. Diseases of the cardiovascular system
2. Kidney pathology
3. Varicose veins.
Swelling of the legs from these reasons occurs all the time, and not just in the summer.
What to do if your legs swell. How to relieve swelling of the legs.
Until the diagnosis is clarified, diuretics can be used to treat swelling of the legs. But we must remember that they are quite powerful, and they also increase the excretion of beneficial microelements from the body, especially potassium. The diuretic drug hypothiazide is used once and not more than 12.5 mg.
Nowadays, a diuretic drug, veroshpiron, is used much more often for swelling of the legs. It is classified as potassium-sparing; it is used daily at 25 mg, but not more than 7-8 days.
Diuretics for swelling are best used in accordance with a person’s biological rhythm, which is 5-6 in the morning for the kidneys, and strictly on an empty stomach. But before you grab the pills, use diuretic herbs to treat edema: bearberry, corn silk, lingonberry leaf, ready-made kidney mixture. All these folk remedies can be bought at the pharmacy. Infusions of diuretic herbs can be taken for 1-2 months.
External remedies will also help relieve swelling of the legs: Lyoton 1000 gel and Troxevasin ointment. These remedies are especially good if the cause of swelling is varicose veins of the legs.
What to do if your legs are swollen and painful. Why does swelling occur?
Because swelling compresses not only blood vessels, but also nerve endings, which is why pain appears. Non-steroidal anti-inflammatory ointments will help relieve pain from swelling of the legs: diclofenac, ketanol. Apply the ointment to your feet with light movements from bottom to top. If the pain during swelling is very severe, take an anesthetic orally, or better yet, an antispasmodic - papaverine or no-shpu.
In the summer heat, it is useful to take vascular drugs in a course lasting 1-2 months: Detralex, Troxevasin, Trental, Ascorutin.
Recommendations for summer residents. Folk remedies for swelling of the legs.
The reason for swelling of the legs in summer residents is mainly vascular pathology, since women and men in the country spend a lot of time in static, uncomfortable positions. This inhibits the outflow of blood from the blood vessels of the lower extremities. The veins and femoral arteries become compressed. To prevent this from happening, it is better to work while sitting on a low stool.
Every half hour you need to take a short break, stretch your muscles, and walk around the area. Every 2 hours, take a longer break and do leg exercises: rise on your toes, pull your toes towards you, swing your legs, shake your feet. The calf muscles will begin to contract and push the venous blood back into the channel, there will be no stagnation of blood and swelling.
Contrast baths and cool showers for your feet are very useful. When watering your beds, don't forget to water your feet. This promotes a sharp contraction of muscles and blood vessels, excess fluid is removed from the body, which helps relieve swelling of the legs.
Instead of tea, drink a decoction of parsley; it has a mild diuretic effect and many other benefits. It is also very useful to eat fresh cucumbers from the garden; they quench your thirst well and help relieve swelling.
Do not wear socks with tight elastic bands, otherwise your feet will swell greatly in the evening and cramps may occur. And be sure to wear compression stockings for varicose veins. (HLS 2013 No. 11, pp. 12-13)
Swelling of the legs with varicose veins - a compress of heparin ointment
When work in the garden causes your legs to buzz, your legs to swell, or your veins to swell, heparin ointment will help relieve these phenomena. A tube of 25 g is enough for 5 procedures. You need to smear the leg in the sore spot with this ointment, wrap it in plastic, bandage it and put a stocking on top. After this, lie down and rest for 2 hours. At first there may be severe pain, but you have to endure it. One day treat one leg, the second day the other. When the tube runs out, take a break for a week. Then repeat the treatment. (HLS 2005 No. 13 p. 28)
Flaxseed decoction for swollen legs
The woman had severe swelling of her legs. A decoction of flaxseed helped get rid of them. She brewed 4 tbsp. l. flax seeds with 1 liter of water and boiled for 10 minutes. Having wrapped the pan with the broth, I left it for 1 hour. I drank without filtering 100 ml every 2 hours. There were 6-8 doses per day. After 2 weeks, the swelling of the woman’s legs completely disappeared. (HLS 2013 No. 17 p. 30)
Treatment with infusion of parsley and lemon
The woman managed to relieve swelling in her legs using a folk remedy. She minced about 200 g of parsley along with the roots. I poured 1 glass of this mixture into two glasses of boiling water, wrapped it up and let it sit until the morning. In the morning, I strained the infusion and added juice squeezed from one lemon.
I drank the medicine 1/3 cup 2 times a day, morning and evening. After 2 days of taking it, take a 3-day break. Continue treatment of edema with this remedy until it disappears completely. (HLS 2011 No. 10 p. 32)
If your feet are swollen, cucumber will help.
For swelling of the legs, take fresh cucumber juice. Drink 1/3 glass 2-3 times a day. You can't add salt. (HLS 2011 No. 16 p. 31)
Treatment of leg swelling with comfrey
A Healthy Lifestyle reader overheard two women talking at a bus stop about how comfrey helps a lot if your legs are swollen and painful. After that I prepared a healing tincture. I washed and crushed the roots well, filled 1/3 of a liter jar with them, and filled them to the top with vodka. Comfrey must be infused for at least 3 weeks. During this time, the tincture will darken, and the roots will also turn from white to brown.
The result of treating edema with comfrey exceeded all expectations - the swelling subsided, the legs stopped hurting. Previously, the woman could barely walk, but now she walks quickly to the dacha without difficulty. She rubbed the tincture on her legs and feet (HLS 2011 No. 17 p. 9)
Treatment of swelling of the legs with dill seed
The woman read this folk remedy for edema in the Healthy Lifestyle Bulletin.
1 tbsp. l. pour 300 ml of boiling water with a heap of dill seeds. Drink 150 g of infusion in the morning on an empty stomach, drink 150 g in the evening before bed. Course 21 days.
The woman took two courses like this. For the third course, she took only 150 ml of infusion just before bed.
The result is this. She has been diabetic for 11 years. Her legs were like those of an elephant, she could barely walk. After the treatment, the numbness and swelling disappeared, and the veins stopped hurting. He continues to drink dill water to prevent swelling. (HLS 2008 No. 16, p. 31)
The woman's legs began to swell frequently. She stopped eating salty foods and began to drink less, but there were no results. A friend suggested using Kalanchoe tincture to treat swelling; she needed to rub her feet.
To prepare the tincture, mash the leaves into a paste. Fill the jar halfway and fill it to the top with vodka. Leave for 3 days, do not strain. The woman rubbed her legs at night, after a week they became the same size. (HLS 2008 No. 17 p. 30, 2001, No. 1, p. 6)
If your legs are swollen and covered with a blue network of veins, you need to regularly rub them until the swelling and blueness completely disappear with a tincture of fresh Kalanchoe leaves with vodka. !/Fill 4 bottles with leaves scrolled in a meat grinder and fill to the top with 60-70% alcohol. Leave for 2-3 weeks, strain and use (2006 No. 3 p. 3)
Treatment of swelling of the legs with knotweed decoction
After surgery, a woman developed swelling in her legs. It was possible to relieve swelling with the help of a decoction of knotweed. 3 tsp. herbs should be brewed in 0.5 liters of boiling water. After 4 hours, strain and drink 1/4 cup 4 times a day. It is better to drink through a straw to save your teeth. (HLS 2004 No. 17 p. 26)
How to relieve swelling with burdock
The man managed to relieve swelling of his legs with the help of burdock leaves. He applied them with the light side to his shins and wrapped them with an elastic bandage on top. Kept it for 3 hours. After three procedures, the swelling decreased, and after ten, it disappeared completely. And now they have been gone for a whole year. This is how burdock leaves helped. (HLS 2010 No. 17 p. 30)
The woman’s legs began to swell, she tied burdock leaves with the rough side to the skin, and managed to cure her legs in several procedures. (HLS 2009 No. 18 p. 32)
If your leg is swollen, there is pain, lameness, pick burdock and plantain leaves, chop them finely, add black bread, a little salt, grind everything into a paste, add Vishnevsky ointment. Fold this mass into a cloth and tie it to the sore spot. (HLS 2010 No. 1 p. 36)
Ointment for the treatment of swelling
The woman had severe swelling of her legs, long-standing, terrible. A simple ointment helped relieve the swelling. She prepared it like this: she melted a piece of wax the size of a matchbox, added 1 glass of unrefined sunflower oil and half the yolk of a pre-boiled hard-boiled egg.
She smeared this ointment on her leg up to the knee, wrapped it in strips of a torn sheet, then put on a stocking. Conducted 17 sessions. (HLS 2005 No. 24 p. 26)
Swelling of the legs is a rather unpleasant pathological phenomenon, which is characterized by increased accumulation of fluid in the tissues of the lower extremities. In medical practice, the treatment of leg swelling directly depends on what specific pathology underlies this symptom. For example, swelling of the legs can be caused by cardiovascular diseases, in which a person’s heart can no longer pump the required amount of blood, providing the body’s cells with additional oxygen.
When cardiovascular activity is disrupted, almost all the fluid that should circulate in the body goes into the lower extremities. As soon as blood circulation improves, all processes in the human body start anew.
How can you remove excess fluid from the body? To remove excess fluid from the body, you will need to resort to a therapeutic fruit and vegetable diet. To do this, traditional medicine recommends changing your diet to: fresh cucumbers, lemons with honey, raw cabbage, steamed eggplant. Also, at home you can make decoctions from birch leaves, parsley, cornflower flowers, horsetail, dandelion, and lovage.
It is recommended for edema caused by cardiovascular diseases to periodically carry out fasting days. These can be fasting days on apples and cottage cheese, that is, it is recommended to consume about 500 grams of apples per day (more is possible), as well as 300 grams of cottage cheese. For very large edema, this fasting diet is prescribed to the patient for a week until she feels better.
In order to eliminate deep swelling in a short period of time, you need to start using calendula tincture (it is sold in every pharmacy). For a month, 3 times a day before the main meal, you need to dilute 50 drops of calendula tincture in water and use it as a medicine.
Calendula tincture helps get rid of edema, eliminate dropsy, and also normalize heart function.
Also, an alternative method of treatment (and it is worth noting that it tastes more pleasant) is to drink cherry decoction 4 times a day, 150 ml.
Let's consider fairly effective folk methods for treating swelling of the lower extremities.
The first method is to buy flaxseed at the pharmacy (you need 4 tsp at a time) and add 1 liter of water, then put it on low heat and wait until the water boils. Next, remove the container from the heat and place it in a warm place (preferably wrap the pan with a warm towel or blanket on top). This mixture should infuse for approximately 4 hours.
At the end of 4 hours, strain the flaxseed water through a layer of gauze and add freshly squeezed juice of half a lemon to it.
To eliminate swelling, you need to drink flaxseed water 6 times a day, half a glass. This should be done every 2 hours, starting with the first meal.
The course of treatment is 3 weeks, but you will be able to notice the first positive result after 1 week. It is recommended to use flaxseed water in the presence of numerous extensive internal edemas.
A healing herbal decoction, which includes ingredients such as licorice root, lovage root, steelberry root and juniper berries, will help you cope with swelling of the lower extremities. You can buy these herbs at the pharmacy. To prepare a decoction, herbs are taken in equal quantities - 3 tbsp.
Pour cold water (1 liter) over the herbs and leave for 6 hours. At the end of this time, the infusion will need to be boiled over low heat for about 15-25 minutes. Afterwards, you remove the decoction, filter it, cool it and take 100 ml for medicinal purposes 4 times a day.
Let us list the most common and quite effective herbal infusions in folk medicine. To prepare the first collection, you will need the following components:
These components are taken in equal quantities (for example, 1 tbsp) and 500 ml of water is poured. If you take more herbal ingredients, the volume of water increases accordingly. The mixture is placed on low heat and boiled for 15 minutes and then infused for another 2 hours. Now filter the infusion through cheesecloth and consume 100 ml 4-5 times a day. Every day you will have to prepare a new fresh decoction.
Another well-known and quite effective recipe for a decoction that helps eliminate extensive swelling of the lower extremities. Take 2 tbsp. cornflower flowers, 2 tbsp. bearberry leaf, as well as 1 tbsp. licorice root. Pour 500 ml of boiling water over this entire mixture and let it brew for 1 hour. Afterwards, strain and take every day 4 times in a dosage of 100 ml.
Treatment of leg swelling with folk remedies gives good results. The use of various compresses, decoctions, and baths in most cases will be much more effective than traditional treatment.
The accumulation of fluid in muscle cells leads to swelling. Due to the laws of gravity, it is the legs that most often suffer from swelling. Swelling of the legs can occur in healthy people as a result of heat, regular consumption of salt in excess of the daily norm, prolonged stay in an uncomfortable position, as well as in women during the last months of pregnancy.
Sometimes the cause of swelling of the legs can be various diseases:
Elderly people are more likely than others to encounter the problem of fluid stagnation in the lower extremities.
Before you begin treatment on your own, you need to undergo examinations and find out whether swelling of the legs is a consequence of a serious illness. If no pathologies are found, you can safely begin to select the most optimal option for how to effectively relieve leg swelling at home.
[adrotate banner=»4″]What signs indicate that you have excessive fluid accumulation in your calves, legs, feet or ankles? An unpleasant sensation appears during a long walk, the legs quickly get tired, and usually comfortable shoes begin to press. Pressure spots may appear on the skin from straps and fasteners. Even wearing thick socks causes discomfort.
Sometimes persistent swelling can lead to deformed feet or ankles.
There is such a way to check for possible swelling of the legs: you should press your finger on the lower limb, if the skin quickly smoothes out and a depression does not form for a while, there is no swelling. Otherwise, we can say there is a problem.
Treatment with folk remedies involves the use of both simple methods and multi-component recipes with a precise regimen for use externally or internally. Herbal infusions, baths, lotions or compresses perfectly help relieve swelling.
Most often, swelling is relieved thanks to decoctions that have a diuretic effect. There are different ways to cope with puffiness; below are some of the most well-known and frequently used remedies:
Herbs that help with swelling of the legs also have a diuretic effect: chamomile, string, mint, motherwort, burdock root and others. They not only help relieve swelling, but also reduce the level of intoxication in the body.
The use of baths that have a gentle effect on the lower extremities helps to get rid of not only swelling, but also fatigue. Herbal decoctions for this procedure are prepared based on clover, dubrovnik, figs, chamomile, aromatic rush and other medicinal plants.

There are other recipes that will tell you how to get rid of swelling thanks to foot baths:
These and many other methods provide information on how to relieve swelling in edema of the lower extremities.
How to treat swelling of the lower extremities depends on the frequency of the problem and the reaction of the human body to certain components of folk remedies. In most cases, it is recommended to relieve swelling using compresses based on a paste of raw potatoes, white cabbage leaves, horse sorrel, chicken fat, olive and camphor oil.
In addition to using one of these remedies, you can do a cold massage before bed or after a hard day at work using ice cubes frozen from a decoction of various medicinal herbs.
How to relieve swelling of the legs using the proposed folk remedies, and which of the above methods to use, is determined by each person depending on the individual characteristics of his body. It is also necessary to remember about possible allergies to certain components of the recipes and begin treatment carefully in order to achieve the desired result and forget about the problem of swelling of the lower extremities for a long time.
Fill a bucket with cold water and add one packet of rock salt. After this, soak a terry towel in this solution and, after squeezing it lightly, place it on your lower back. Do this about ten times. This procedure will affect urination, and swelling will begin to subside.
And another traditional medicine method for treating edema. Take a fresh cabbage leaf and cut out the veins from it. You need to walk over them with a rolling pin, and then apply them to the sore spot. Secure the sheet with adhesive tape.
One newspaper dedicated to folk medicine wrote about a wonderful folk remedy for treating facial swelling.
You need to take two tablespoons of flaxseed, add 1/2 liter of water and boil the mixture for fifteen minutes. Then cover the broth with a lid and place for an hour in a place where there is no sunlight.
Take the medicine four times a day, half a glass. You can add lemon juice to it. Five days are enough to cure swelling. But you can extend the course of alternative treatment for edema to two to three weeks. Moreover, this treatment method is good not only for edema, it improves the entire condition of the body as a whole.
If you suffer from swelling, then you need to use diuretics. Such products include garlic, celery, parsley, onions, asparagus, black currants, kefir, as well as watermelon, pumpkin, strawberries, grapes, cottage cheese, and yogurt. During edema, our grandmothers sewed knee-sized bags of linen for their legs, filled them with birch leaves and put the bags on their legs. The leaves should cover the legs tightly.
For five hours, the sick person sat in the bags like this, and when his feet began to sweat a lot, the leaves were changed to fresh ones. The swelling goes away if you do this treatment several times. For mild swelling, you need to sit in the bags for two hours.

Swelling can appear from fatigue, excessive use of the legs, or when standing for long periods of time. If you have swelling of your ankles, if it is not associated with heart or kidney disease, you need to pay attention to your weight. You should not wear heels that are too high, stockings with elastic bands or garter belts, as they impede blood circulation. It is useful to sleep when your legs are swollen with a pillow under your feet, not under your head. In addition, there are a large number of traditional medicine recipes that help cope with swelling of the legs. # For swelling of the legs: sew bags of cotton fabric to fit the leg to the knee. Fill them with birch leaves and insert the patient’s legs into the bag in such a way that a fairly thick (about a finger thick) layer of leaves covers the leg on all sides. Your feet will sweat a lot. If after 3-4 hours it turns out that the leaves are very wet, they should be replaced with new ones. A few sessions like this and the swelling will subside. For minor swelling, 1-2 procedures are sufficient.
# For swelling of the legs, drink a decoction of flaxseed: 4 teaspoons of seeds per 1 liter of water, boil for 10-15 minutes. Close the pan and place in a warm place for 1 hour. For taste, you can add lemon or other fruit juice. Drink hot, 1/2 cup every 2 hours, 6-8 times a day. Treatment period is 2-3 weeks.
# To eliminate various swelling on the legs or face: rinse the roots and parsley well and pass them through a meat grinder. Place a glass of the resulting mass in a glass or enamel bowl, pour two glasses of boiling water and leave in a warm place for 8-9 hours. Then strain the infusion, squeeze out the remainder and add the juice of one medium lemon. Take 1/3 cup for two days in a row, take a break for 3 days, take again for 2 days in a row, etc.
# For swelling of the legs: grind fresh Kalanchoe leaves, fill half a half-liter jar with them, fill the jar to full volume with vodka and leave for 2 weeks. Rub your feet with this tincture before going to bed.
# If your legs are swollen, wrap them overnight with a plaster made of wax, olive oil and water. Repeat the procedure if necessary.
# For swelling of the legs: dissolve 1 kg of table salt in a bucket of cold water, soak a terry towel in the solution and, after squeezing it slightly, apply it to the patient’s lower back. The procedure must be done 10 days in a row before bedtime. Soon after this, profuse urination will begin and swelling will subside.
# For leg swelling, use baths made from a strong decoction of woodlice herb
Many people face the problem of leg swelling. There are times when malaise is only a symptom of another, more serious problem. In this case, you cannot do without a visit to the doctor. But, as a rule, treating leg swelling at home is quite possible.
Swelling of the limbs occurs when more fluid accumulates in the cells and muscle tissues than necessary. In a healthy state, capillaries remove excess moisture, after which it is removed from the body. If the functioning of any organs is disrupted, the waste intercellular fluid cannot be completely absorbed.
Many factors can be the cause of leg swelling. Moreover, even a healthy person can suffer from them.
Swelling can occur during heat, when peripheral blood vessels dilate to protect against overheating. The pressure in them drops at these moments, and part of the waste intercellular fluid is retained in the muscles.
During pregnancy, especially in the last months.
After eating a lot of salty foods. Salt retains fluids in the body, so people suffering from hydrobalance disorders should choose bland foods.
Swelling is also often observed in people who are forced to stand for a long time, or who often sit in an uncomfortable position. In this case, sometimes it is enough to change your position or do simple gymnastics to disperse stagnant blood and thereby remove excess fluid from the tissues.
Unfortunately, swelling is often a sign of much more serious problems. They can be a symptom of a huge number of diseases - primarily those associated with disorders of the excretory or circulatory system. The reasons include:
Kidney diseases - pyelonephritis, renal failure, urolithiasis;
Hormonal disorders, primarily associated with improper functioning of the thyroid gland;
Varicose veins, thrombosis, inflammation and other disorders of the circulatory system;
and some other diseases and complications.
Since it is sometimes difficult to immediately name the cause of the ailment, if your legs swell regularly, it is worth paying a visit to the clinic to rule out the most dangerous pathologies.
Abnormal accumulation of fluid in the legs, ankles, and feet is called edema. Swelling may be in one or both legs. The effect of gravity causes swelling in the lower legs more noticeably.
The first alarm bells are a feeling of discomfort when walking for a long time. Comfortable shoes begin to put pressure, your legs quickly get tired, and pain appears in your feet.
Marks from the straps of sandals or tight socks do not disappear for a long time; these depressed “scars” are clearly visible on the skin. In more severe cases, you may notice a change in the shape of the leg around the feet and ankles.
If in doubt, press your toe into your foot, remove your toe, and watch how quickly the dimple disappears. In a healthy person, any marks are smoothed out almost instantly (with prolonged pressure - within one to two minutes).
There are a large number of drugs designed to cope with edema syndrome. Diuretic tablets for swelling of the legs are prescribed to remove excess fluid from the body. There are several caveats when taking these medications.
Firstly, almost all of them act on the excretory system, so people suffering from kidney disease need to be careful with diuretics.
Secondly, salts and other important microelements are washed out of the body along with excess fluid. Take care to replenish your salt balance.
The most common diuretic for swelling of the legs is Furosemide. It has a powerful effect, quickly removes stagnant fluid from tissues, and is often prescribed for disorders of the circulatory system. It is not recommended to take it for a long time due to the mass of side effects.
Diuretics such as Torasemide (or its analogue, Trifas) and Hydrochlorothiazide have a much milder effect.
Heart patients suffering from “swelling” limbs may also be prescribed Trigrim or Veroshpiron.
However, we must not forget that each of the listed drugs has side effects, and before you start taking pills, you should ask your doctor for advice.
If during the examination you were not diagnosed with serious diseases, but your legs continue to swell, then you can try to cope with the problem on your own.
Treatment of leg swelling with folk remedies includes both simple everyday tricks, such as calculating the optimal amount of fluid to drink, and more complex techniques that have come down to us from time immemorial. All of them are effective and can alleviate the condition, and sometimes completely eliminate the problem.
What can be done to save yourself from discomfort in the lower extremities?
Reduce the amount of salty foods in your diet.
Drink more water, preferably filtered. Train yourself to drink tea, juice or coffee only after meals, and replace them with clean water between meals.
The main role in removing fluids is played by the kidneys, and for them to work you need to drink at least 2 - 2.5 liters of water per day, in addition to liquid meals and drinks.
Elevate your legs every time you lie down. The legs should be raised so that they are above the level of the heart.
Place a pillow or cushion made from several blankets under your feet and lie there for 15-20 minutes. This will cause blood to flow out, which will reduce swelling.
Give yourself a light massage. Stretch your legs, starting at your feet and moving up to your thighs to stimulate circulation. Try not to touch the popliteal cavity, where the large lymph node is located.
Press on swollen legs with your hands or a special massager so that it does not hurt. Such pressure will help move excess water from the legs higher.
Soak your feet in cold water or take a contrast shower.
Often, in combination with official medications, or even instead of them, herbal medicine can be used. Folk diuretics usually do not put as much strain on the body as tablets, although, of course, there are exceptions.
It is best to buy a ready-made herbal mixture at a pharmacy. If this is not possible, then you can purchase the necessary herbs separately and mix them immediately before brewing.
There are a large number of fees that help remove excess fluid from tissues.
Birch buds with juniper berries and horsetail.
St. John's wort, bearberry (in some herbs it is called "bear's ears"), knotweed, violet.
St. John's wort herb in combination with chokeberry leaves and sainfoin herb.
A mixture of raspberry and anise fruits, lingonberry and coltsfoot herbs, as well as dried linden inflorescences.
Horsetail and birch leaves.
Coriander, peppermint, watch and immortelle.
Dried raspberries, linden blossom and lingonberry herb.
Fennel, licorice and juniper.
For swelling caused by heart failure, a mixture of plantain, anise and sage will help.
For people with diabetes, many herbal tea options can be dangerous. It is better to mix St. John's wort with chamomile, ninesil and mint, add rose hips, blueberries, horsetail, and honey.
Diuretic tea often includes lingonberry leaf. It can be brewed in different combinations:
with string and knotweed;
with corn silk and birch leaves;
with corn silk, wheatgrass root and dill (only the seeds are used as a diuretic).
All infusions are brewed at the rate of 1 tablespoon per 200 grams of water, infused for half an hour and drunk 3 to 5 times a day.
Corn silk is a powerful diuretic. The simplest recipe is to brew 1 tablespoon of corn silk in a glass of hot water and leave for 5 minutes. Strain and drink 3 times a day like tea, a glass, but not just before bed.
You should not get carried away with this tea if you have heart problems. It's best to consult your doctor first. Strong diuretics such as corn silk or sunflower roots can upset the balance of salts and other minerals in the body.
The following mixture has good diuretics: 2 teaspoons of dandelion root, and half a teaspoon of nettle, dill seeds, oat straw and dried corn silk each.
Pour the collection with a liter of boiling water and leave for 20 minutes. Drink up to two cups of infusion throughout the day.
Lingonberry leaf has a good diuretic effect. For swelling, you can brew the leaf itself or in the form of tea in bags. As a diuretic, brew one sachet in a glass of hot water, infuse and drink.
In the form of herbs, also pour a teaspoon of crushed leaf into a glass of boiling water and leave. You can drink up to 4 glasses of lingonberry leaf decoction per day.
Here are some more diuretic herbs that can help get rid of swollen feet.
Lit plantain, St. John's wort, bearberry (bear's ear), nettle and rosehip. All herbs are taken in equal proportions. Grind the mixture and pour 600 ml of boiling water into 1 tablespoon of the mixture. Cover the jar with a lid and a towel and leave to cool to room temperature. Then strain the broth and take 200 ml 3 times during the day.
Juniper berries, lovage and licorice root are taken in equal proportions. After mixing and grinding, pour a tablespoon of the mixture with boiled water at room temperature and leave to infuse for 7 hours. It is better to do this in the evening at night.
In the morning, put on the stove and simmer at low boil for 15 minutes. Divide into 4 parts and drink throughout the day.
Prepare a mixture of horsetail and birch leaves, taking them in equal proportions. Pour a tablespoon of the mixture into a glass of boiling water and leave in a water bath for 15 minutes. Allow to cool to room temperature and drink 100 ml of decoction before eating.
Grind and mix a collection of 1 tablespoon of cornflower flowers, 1 tablespoon of licorice root and 3 tablespoons of bearberry. Pour a tablespoon of the mixture into a glass of boiling water and keep in a water bath for 10-15 minutes. Drink one or two tablespoons before meals.
Cucumber, pumpkin juice or onion syrup with sugar are good diuretics.
Drink half a glass of juice once or twice a day.
Onion syrup is prepared as follows. Cut the onions into circles and, sprinkle with sugar, place in a glass jar. Leave overnight or for 10-12 hours until the onion releases its juice. Then carefully pour it into a jar or bottle. Drink 2 tablespoons on an empty stomach in the morning.
A good method of dealing with the problem is water procedures. Baths for swelling of the legs often help as well as, or even better than, store-bought medicines. They allow you to relieve pain, stimulate blood circulation, and in some cases completely get rid of swelling.
Pour hot water into a bowl, dilute 100 - 200 grams of sea salt in it. You can add a little apple cider vinegar: it makes the skin and vessel walls more elastic, which promotes better fluid removal.
Baths with the addition of herbs have an excellent effect. To do this, first prepare a herbal decoction, then dilute it with hot water and add sea or regular salt.
You can use the following recipe: 100 grams of juniper berries, 1 tablespoon of mustard powder, 1 tablespoon of baking soda. Brew the mixture for 1 hour. You can also prepare a decoction of chamomile flowers, birch leaves and mint.
You need to steam your feet for 10-15 minutes, in fairly warm, but not scalding water. Contrast baths also work well: alternately dip your feet first in hot water, then in cold water.
Preventing a disease, as we know, is much easier than dealing with it later. Therefore, preventing leg swelling is mandatory for anyone who has to do standing work, as well as for people with kidney disease, heart disease, diabetes mellitus or cirrhosis of the liver.
The best way to avoid swelling is to be active. Alternate exercise with rest, and don’t forget to do leg exercises throughout the day. Squats, springing movements on the toes, and running in place are great for this. Don't forget to self-massage at the end of the day.
Swimming is also an excellent preventative measure.
If you have already experienced swelling, then you need to take your health especially seriously. Try not to buy shoes that are too tight.
Give your feet a rest while you work. If possible, you can lie down or at least sit with your legs up.
If swelling is associated with any disease, wear special compression stockings or tights.
Watch your weight and, of course, carefully monitor the amount of fluid you drink.
Don't forget: very often we can avoid health problems just by paying a little more attention to ourselves!
