An American supermodel shared her secret of surviving in stiletto heels, and we tried her method on ourselves.
Heels disappeared from my wardrobe after the birth of my child. And then, two years later, I came back from maternity leave and realized that I had completely forgotten how to wear such shoes. And how you want to parade around in elegant shoes, at least before work...
The other day I came across advice online from a successful supermodel from the 80s, Marie Helvin. She's spent her entire career pounding the runway in heels, so Marie knows what she's talking about.
So, Helvin instructs: wrap the plaster around your third and fourth toes, and then feel free to put on your shoes. The secret, they say, is that there is a nerve between these two fingers, which causes the sensation of pain if you press on it.
I was skeptical about Marie’s advice, so I didn’t risk testing it “in the fields” - I decided to walk in heels at home. She left her left leg untouched, and wrapped the toes on her right leg in a plaster, as Miss Helvin had instructed.
I honestly walked around the apartment for an hour, doing general cleaning along the way. Thirty minutes later, the left leg began to slowly ache, and the right leg, with its toes tied, remained stoic. You can blame the placebo effect, but it felt like all the pain was concentrated in the middle toe of the left foot. So thank you, Miss Helvin, your method worked for me.
1. Don't underestimate the dangers of too smooth soles on new shoes. Rub it with sandpaper, making the soles rougher. This way you will definitely not slip.
2. After purchasing a new pair, give it a test drive at home. This way you will know exactly where your shoes are rubbing. Then stick fabric patches on these places, briefly put the covered feet in the water, and then put on the shoes again. This will allow the new shoes to adapt to the shape of your feet - the wet patches will stretch problem areas and protect against future calluses.
3. Helvin stretches very tight shoes using special wooden blocks. However, our girls got the hang of breaking in their shoes by wearing two pairs of winter socks underneath.
3. If you have a long night in heels, give your legs a workout - hamstring stretches, ankle rotations. You can also exercise while going out - at the dinner table, where no one will see your workout.
4. Spray your feet with deodorant. This way your feet won’t sweat and will stay firmly in your shoes, which will save you from blisters. In addition, hairspray will help fix the foot inside the shoe.
5. Rough edges of the inner surface of the shoes can be treated with a nail file, and then lubricated with Vaseline.
6. Glue special rubber pads onto the sole. They will provide stability through shock absorption.
“Christian Louboutin would be horrified to know what I do to the famous red soles of his shoes, but I have these overlays on every pair of shoes,” Ms. Halvin says.
7. As you age, your feet become less and less tolerant of high heels. That's why Marie Halvin uses special shoe pads that are glued to the insole. They prevent your feet from sliding forward, providing additional support.
8. Platform shoes are sometimes no less elegant, but much more comfortable and stable than thin stilettos. Halvin also often wears shoes under tight tights, although he admits that it doesn’t look so sexy anymore.
9. Buy shoes in the afternoon, when you have already spent several hours on your feet - by this time they will be a little swollen. This way you will protect yourself from shoes that are mercilessly pinching by the evening.
10. If you do get blisters, soak your feet in warm water with Epsom salts (magnesium sulfate, sold in pharmacies) for 10 minutes. This solution will help heal the skin and disinfect wounds.
11. If narrow, pointed shoes make your feet ache, stick your fingers between your toes - it will feel better.
12. Use anti-inflammatory gels to relieve leg pain after long walks.
We women have a very strange attitude towards heels - we both love and hate them. We love them because they instantly turn us into elegant and sexy girls, as if from the catwalk. For a certain feeling of celebration and superiority, for the admiring glances of men. And we hate it for all the discomfort that is associated with them: fatigue and pain in the legs, and in the prognosis - problems with the bones and veins.
Oh, how elegant they look in a store window, and how nice it is to look at your reflection in the fitting room, trying on high-heeled shoes! However, on the street a war begins between beauty and comfort .
Of course, high heels will never be as comfortable as ballet flats or sneakers. But with the help of the following tips you can get rid of the pain when walking in heels and learn to walk in heels without feeling tired .
When purchasing, pay attention to strength and stability. Strong, reliable shoes will be more comfortable to wear.
Always place something soft under your heel. This will make you feel much more comfortable.
When wearing shoes, the toes always slide down. It is important to take this into account and select a size so that the sock does not squeeze your fingers.
A recent trend in the fashion world, high platform shoes are ideal for those who want to visually increase their height. They are much more convenient than stilettos and more comfortable when walking on uneven roads.
Never buy shoes that are even half a size too small or too big. Don’t reassure yourself by wearing them out or wearing insoles; in the future, such shoes may simply become torture and an unjustified waste of money for you.
Yes, it’s hard to resist the graceful 10-centimeter heels on your shoes. But in the future, your feet will thank you for this by not having pain from heels. In addition, if you find it difficult to walk in heels, it is better to start with a medium heel and gradually build up your endurance. Hyper high heels can be left for special occasions, where most of the time you can sit and admire your charming legs.
Yes, yes, many girls simply do not know how to walk in high heels. Experts advise not to forget about posture and the correct step. Land your leg on the entire foot, and lift it from the heel. The step should be small and the legs should be fully straightened. Hands should not be hidden in pockets, as they help in maintaining balance. When walking, concentrate not on your legs, but on your abs.
Carry lightweight, flat-soled shoes. At any opportunity (on the road in transport or at the table), give your legs a rest. This will be an excellent prevention of foot diseases.
If you have a free minute, stretch your legs. Pull the toe towards you, then away from you, rotate your leg or rise on your tiptoes. Such movements will improve blood circulation in the legs and relieve fatigue.
After a warm bath, massage your feet and keep them elevated.
Many people are afraid of the risk of getting any diseases after wearing high heels, but scientists from the UK have already stated that high heels and foot diseases are not always interrelated. They tested 111 women over 40 for knee osteoarthritis, a common condition in women. As a result, women who regularly wore high-heeled shoes were less likely to develop this disease. But the problem of excess weight, bad habits and knee injuries can really provoke the development of osteoarthritis.
Follow the rules described above and amaze the eyes of shocked men with your light, sexy gait!
One thing is bad - beauty in this case really requires sacrifice. You have to pay with tired legs, sore toes, aching heels and swelling. Today we will not dissuade you from giving up your favorite shoes, boots and sandals; we will tell you how to walk in heels beautifully and not have negative consequences from it.
To learn how to walk beautifully in heels, you need to train your leg muscles. You can do this with a simple exercise: walk on your toes for one minute every day, then walk on your heels for the same amount. The total duration of classes should be 5-10 minutes.
Remember that when walking in stiletto heels, not only the leg muscles suffer, but also the back. Learn to walk with a straight back. Our grandmothers also developed posture by walking around the room with a book on their head. This simple exercise not only makes your gait beautiful, but also gradually reduces the overall load on the spine.
Sedentary work is very harmful to blood circulation. If you have to sit all day, then most likely you have noticed that after a hard day it can be difficult to walk in heels.
To prevent evening fatigue, do not be lazy to take walks during the day, walk up the stairs, and if you can’t get up often, do gymnastics for your feet and calves while sitting.
Place a book on the floor, place your socks on it and lower and raise your legs, alternating fast and slow movements. Another exercise is to roll a small rubber ball with spikes between your feet.
If you've never worn high heels, don't rush to buy mind-blowing stilettos. Before walking in heels with a height of 10-12 cm, practice on models that lift you by 7-8 cm. Then gradually switch to high thick heels, and only after getting used to it, start looking at shoes with thin stilettos.
Do not strive to constantly walk only “at height”; your legs require different loads. Keep a change of shoes at work, wear comfortable shoes during long shopping trips, and at the beginning of your journey to stiletto heels, have spare “fast shoes” on hand, in which you can always find salvation for tired feet.
If after a long walk your feet are tired from heels, you can quickly revive them with a cool shower or contrast baths with the addition of sea salt and essential oils. Massage, which is not so difficult to do on your own, helps fight fatigue very well.
Swollen feet are a fairly common occurrence after going out in new shoes. An ice cube that can be used to wipe your feet after a bath or shower will help get rid of this unpleasant consequence. You can also use special cosmetic creams with a cooling effect containing menthol.
If it was painful to walk in heels, then you need to lie on your back and raise your feet on a pillow or a rolled-up blanket. This position will help your legs relax and improve the flow of lymph and blood. By the way, doctors recommend sleeping in this position - this is an excellent prevention of varicose veins.
You've probably noticed that in some low-heeled shoes your feet get even more tired than in high-heeled ones. The thing is that convenience depends not only on the height of the heel, but also on other characteristics.
When choosing shoes, you need to consider not only your foot size and height, but also your body weight! The more weight, the more stable the heel should be! For ladies with curvy figures, wedge heels are more suitable than thin stilettos!
A very useful invention for high-heeled shoes is orthopedic insoles, which reduce the load on the foot and prevent the foot from slipping. Ideally, orthopedic products should be purchased in specialized stores or ordered individually, taking into account all the features of the foot, its curves and size.
These insoles have special pads that provide maximum walking comfort. For open shoes, special shortened models are produced. Leather, textiles, and silicone materials are used for manufacturing.
If it is not possible to buy orthopedic insoles, you can purchase textile, leather, gel or silicone anti-slip inserts with a textured surface. Pads under the forefoot reduce fatigue and prevent the foot from slipping, which eliminates the problem of protruding toes in sandals and prevents squeezing of nails in narrow shoes.
Heel stops are glued to the back of the shoe; these pads not only prevent the foot from sliding down, but also prevent the feet from getting tired in high heels. Heel clips can be leather or gel; if it is not possible to choose the insert to match the color of the shoe, it is better to take the silicone option.
Products with polyurethane memory foam cushions are recommended for heel spurs in shoes with any heel height. Such inserts reduce the load on the spine and allow the correct positioning of the foot.
Some manufacturers supply their products with an adhesive layer, others do not do this so as not to damage the shoes, hoping that the silicone will stick to the shoes on its own. If the insole gets mixed up, you can always fix it with superglue.
To walk in high heels without getting tired, don’t overuse stilettos, but don’t put them off only for the holidays. Regular training will help you gain a confident and easy gait.
The ideal model of high-heeled shoes is classic stilettos, long and thin heels, the height of which is no more than eight to ten centimeters, although this concept is purely individual and depends primarily on the size of the foot.. On higher heels, a height of fifteen or even seventeen centimeters, even women who wear high-heeled shoes all the time will not feel too comfortable - and such shoes will not add beauty to their gait and figure. At first glance, it may seem that walking in such shoes is not just uncomfortable, but almost impossible. In fact, even in the highest heels you can learn to walk beautifully - all you need is constant practice and patience.
Not all high heels are created equal. Stand in your shoes on a hard floor, straightening your legs, and try to stand on your toes, lifting your heels off the floor three to four centimeters. If you are unable to perform this exercise, then the heel height is too high and you should not wear such shoes. If you are not prepared for such a heel height, then when walking your knees will bend and your gait will be ugly. Don’t forget about such an important detail as shoe size: any shoes should be loose enough to have enough space for insoles if necessary.
If high-heeled shoes have appeared in your wardrobe for the first time, or if you have never liked high heels, it is better to get used to the new height gradually. First of all, take care of comfortable shoes with stable, preferably square, heels; do not rush things and, without experience walking in heels, immediately try on shoes with ten-centimeter stiletto heels. You need to start learning to walk in heels with shoes whose heels are quite thick and low, gradually increasing the height of the heel over time. A heel height of five to seven centimeters would be ideal to start with. When learning to walk in high heels, try to make the shoe you choose as comfortable as possible. For example, a pair of high heels with round toes will be much more comfortable for women who have not tried walking in high heels than a pair of shoes with pointed toes. In such shoes you will be able to walk a little more confidently and freely, without fear that the toes of the shoes will catch on each other. For the first experience of walking in high heels, classic closed shoes or sandals with a wide strap around the ankle are best - such models will provide the foot with maximum support and reduce the risk of injury. Shoes or sandals with miniature thin heels will help you learn to maintain balance. But it is better to avoid shoes that do not provide your feet with sufficient support (for example, sling shoes) - the risk of twisting or dislocating your foot is too great. To get used to your new height without sacrificing comfort and balance, you can start by choosing high platform shoes. These shoes provide less support to your feet than thick-heeled ankle boots, and if the platform is narrow enough, they will be excellent preparation for walking in stilettos in the future.
The first attempt to walk in high-heeled shoes is a completely new experience: in high heels you need to walk completely differently than in shoes with flat soles, and without properly perfecting your gait, you risk earning not only an unpleasant sensation of pain in your feet, but also an ankle injury. Having learned to confidently walk and turn on your heels, you can try on the shoes you will need to wear outside. First of all, you need to remember that you need to start learning to walk in high heels slowly and gradually. After wearing shoes with five-centimeter heels, it is almost impossible to feel as confident in shoes with nine-centimeter stiletto heels, so the main thing is practice and patience.
There are many ways and methods to learn how to walk beautifully in high heels, but in any case, the first stage is to learn how to walk in heels around the house. Most likely, after spending several hours in high-heeled shoes and doing housework, you will get used to the new height and stop paying attention to high heels, this will not only allow you to get used to the new height, but also break in your new shoes and make them more comfortable . Therefore, before wearing high heels to a nightclub or restaurant, be sure to wear the shoes for a few hours at home until the shoes become comfortable. The first step is to simply learn to stand confidently in high heels. Stand in front of a full-length mirror, slowly turn in one direction and the other - this little practice will help you not only evaluate your posture in high-heeled shoes, but also get used to the height of the heels. Take a few steps in high-heeled shoes - if possible, on a hard floor without covering or on a thin carpet. Dense, thick carpet on the floor can disrupt your sense of balance. When taking your first steps in high-heeled shoes, you should try to keep your feet straight and as close to each other as possible. As you take each step, keep your foot as straight as possible. Start practicing walking in high heels with slow, steady steps, paying attention to your posture with each step. Later, as you gain confidence and experience walking in high heels, your gait will become much more natural. Continue walking around the room, changing directions and stopping. Once you gain confidence in the movements, repeat the same on another flooring, also starting with slow steps.
When practicing walking in high heels, you need to remember a few basic rules, adherence to which will make your gait confident and smooth.
First, remember that your legs cannot be bent at the knees - your legs must be kept straight and placed as close to each other as possible. The foot must be directed strictly forward, rearranging the feet so that they walk “in the same line.”
When taking a step, lower your heel first and then your toes, transferring your body weight to the toes quickly and smoothly. Take only smooth, even steps. If your gait is unsteady, try shortening your stride.
Even the most expensive and high-quality high-heeled shoes are uncomfortable if you wear them all the time. Whether you're a heel pro or just learning, you shouldn't walk long distances in high heels—and if you experience ankle or foot pain, remove your shoes immediately.
When learning to walk in heels, do not forget about such a seemingly insignificant detail as shoe inserts: soft silicone insoles, for example, will make shoes with the highest and thinnest heels much more comfortable.
Don't forget to give your feet a rest - especially if your feet start to hurt while walking in high heels. Every twenty to thirty minutes, sit down to rest.

Personally, even after several hours of walking in heels (even not very high ones), my legs, or rather my feet, hurt terribly. It seems that I try to take more comfortable shoes, with stable heels, a comfortable last or platform, but this does not help. Because of this, corns arise, and even literally “bones” ache. I feel uncomfortable without heels. I absolutely don’t like ballet flats, but I don’t want to give up heels either. Looking at other girls, even in high heels, it seems that they walk very easily and comfortably. Don't they hurt?
Am I the only one like this, or does this happen to you too?

I can’t walk in heels at all, I walk around in medium heels for even an hour and choose comfortable shoes, and it’s a hell of a pain, my feet are just twisting, the calluses are almost blistering. I wear shoes without heels, what else can I do, I always feel comfortable without heels.
June 15, 2011, 10:36 pm
I thought so too until I bought the shoes of my dreams, heel 12, a small platform and, as it were, the entire sole is adjacent to the foot and the emphasis is not only on the pads but also on the space between the heel and the pads. In general, it’s probably not clear, you need to find something that suits you through trial and error, and I also bought silicone footprints for the balls of my feet. In general, it’s beautiful, at least by the end of the day my feet don’t burn
June 15, 2011, 10:46 pm
The main thing is not to waste money on good, and really high-quality and comfortable shoes. Otherwise, you will be left completely without legs.
no corns, no calluses, no pain. even in 12 cm heels
June 15, 2011, 10:48 pm
Heels don’t really hurt me, but I don’t see the point in wearing them at all - unless I’m seducing my colleagues at work?
Author, in addition to stilettos and ballet shoes, there are a lot of other shoes - if it is so critical for you to be “on top” - you can choose wedge shoes or the “hooves” described many times here, when the heel seems high due to the fact that the toe is raised on the platform.
June 15, 2011, 10:49 pm
I can’t walk without heels, my calves immediately sway and then hurt. In heels, I feel very comfortable, even in the evening, at the end of the working day.

you need to choose quality shoes
June 15, 2011, 11:22 pm
I gave my shoes to friends, I couldn’t walk in them at all, and my friends quickly tore them down because they wore them almost every day and said they were very comfortable shoes, just like slippers, my heels were a maximum of 7 cm, wedges or wide heels. It’s a hellish pain, I’m simply unable to take a step above 7, I fall, my legs break. and for those friends, 7 cm are just slippers, they got used to wearing 12 cm and higher from the age of 12, and the first time I put on shoes with heels 3-4 cm was only after 25 years, and I wore them very rarely, I came and could barely drag my feet, it just hummed and burned. Maybe that’s why I can’t walk in heels at all, my legs are not suitable, my foot doesn’t bend, it hurts a lot, and in general my whole body hurts under tension. I can run fine without heels. I once went to an expensive shoe store, I wanted to try it on and see how it would be in high-quality shoes, firstly, I didn’t even find a style for myself, I needed something simple with a small heel, everything is elegant there and the heels are at least 10 cm, but in general 15 cm. Okay, I started measuring where I couldn’t put my foot, well, they were all terribly uncomfortable, I couldn’t even fit into those heels. In any case, as soon as my leg starts to rise a little from the floor it immediately feels very uncomfortable, in the softest ones I couldn’t stand it for more than an hour, I’d rather throw all my thoughts away and never see it again. the legs are swollen, although without heels the legs do not swell.
June 15, 2011, 11:51 pm
Buy quality shoes (not cheap ones) and there will be no problems.
June 16, 2011, 00:38
You have to get used to them, when I don’t wear heels for a long time, then I can’t walk in them at all, but once I walk around for a few days, I start to get used to it and after a week I can already run in them.
June 16, 2011, 03:40
My feet get tired in any shoe. 🙂 Even more so in ballet shoes.

If corns form, this means that the arch of the foot is depressed.

and my feet ache from the flat soles - well, I can’t walk in flip-flops and ballet shoes for a long time - literally after a couple of hours I’m already walking in a staggered position, for some reason my gait changes and my foot falls to the side, this never happens in heels, no matter how long it goes. but I wear low heels, up to 8 cm.

girls, tell me how to learn to walk beautifully in heels. I really like high-heeled shoes, but it seems to me that I can’t walk well in such thin and high heels. It’s quite difficult for me to walk, constantly straightening my legs, so as not to look like a grasshopper on bent legs. and with straight legs I can’t walk for more than 30 minutes. I envy girls who walk in high heels with ease, don’t their feet hurt? How to learn to walk in heels?
April 12, 2010, 2:08 pm
First, walk with two ski poles, then with one, then hand in hand with the MCH.
April 12, 2010, 2:19 pm
start with a heel of about 5 cm (thin to learn how to balance)
If you master it perfectly, move to 8 cm,
Well, further - if you wish, if you want 10 cm - try it!
Few people can withstand 12 cm and break their foot.
April 12, 2010, 2:21 pm
And girls in stiletto heels still have sore feet,
I just really want to look beautiful :))) So they suffer with a smile, gritting their teeth.

I can walk longer in 5 cm heels, but as I get tired, my legs begin to roll in or something, that is, my balance is lost

I’ll say on the topic - I can walk in high heels, even 12cm, but not in stiletto heels, but like these - http://irisfashion.it/files/2009/01/scarpe-vernice.jpg. This is all because their soles are not thin, and if they are thin, then the heel is not quite a stiletto heel, but like a cone. and when the sole is thin and the heel is a stiletto heel, then such killer shoes are made to be taken by car to a hot spot, escorted by the arm to a table, seated there (you would have to endure it and not go to the toilet), then picked up and taken away in the car. My feet really hurt in these shoes (for me personally).
I also love the first feeling when you come home at the end of the day and the first feeling when you take these shoes off your feet :)))))
I now work from home - I move mainly in slippers in the shape of bears :)))))

I admire girls who can walk in high heels all day long.
it seems like they don't notice them.
and I’m walking and it seems to me that I look bad and that my gait looks funny, but I really like high-heeled shoes.
Yesterday I went to the shopping center, I wanted to buy shoes, but I didn’t find anything, either the heel is too high, or the nose has a hole for a finger)), or a model with medium heels but the design is ugly,
I want to walk through the shopping center again this evening and buy shoes, I think I’ll still buy them with stiletto heels and I’ll suffer)))
13. how to walk in heels
I know that there are inserts for wearing high-heeled shoes or something like that. (They are so transparent, they seem to have some kind of gel inside, I have never seen them in real life, only in a catalogue)
I saw in catalogs either Avon or Oriflame
Has anyone used it? helps?
But it always seemed to me that this was not a workout, but that the structure of my legs allows me to walk in high heels without dragging my feet, but with a flying gait. Live forever and you will learn new things.
I myself begin to move my feet clumsily with heels larger than 8 cm. That’s why I don’t wear them and haven’t even thought about buying them. Probably worth buying and practicing.

you need to buy Italian shoes, they make the last correctly. You can last longer in these heeled shoes. In general, no matter how many times I bought normal shoes, not a single pair rubbed my feet and it was always comfortable to walk, despite the heel.

Of course, by the evening you also begin to fall off your hooves)) even in Italian shoes.

Sally Hansen has them.
comfortable, the foot is cushioned when walking, if the thin sole does not feel small stones on the pavement, the foot in the sandals does not slip. but the shoes should not be very tight initially)

Milena, you just read my thoughts, I also wanted to ask how to determine the block.
It will come with experience, as a rule these are expensive shoes)
wow, 17)) I feel comfortable in the store and at home. and how do you go out into the big world, so to speak. )
I also noticed that my legs were getting used to it. I remember wearing demi-season boots and barely getting to work in the fall. In winter I had a straight, stable heel - I got used to it, it was comfortable. and now in the spring I’m wearing the same demi-season boots again and everything is cool!! my legs don’t hurt, I just run like that. It turns out my legs are getting used to it. But then I bought higher heeled shoes and it hurt again. In general, you need to grit your teeth and walk like this for a week... then it will be easier...

You might think that if you are not wearing high heels, you will be fired from your job or your boyfriend will leave you))) I walk on a small stable heel and everything is fine

buy yourself ballet flats and don’t worry :) or boots with solid soles :)
I have the same problem with heels: in the store everything is fine, but on the asphalt it’s kind of terrible. Moreover, it’s easier in winter, I got used to it in the snow and it turned out very well. Now I’ve switched to shoes without heels, I drive a car more often, it’s more convenient :)

ballerinas know how to walk on them. In a children's film, a guest from the future, right from the first frame, the girl walks with a perfect gait.

author, unfortunately, for most women, heels are torture. A heel is good if you were taken by car from point A to point B, you sat on the sofa, sat, and then they took you back too.
Heeled shoes give the foot an unnatural position, which is stressful.
And when girls run around all day in heels - first before work, then at work, and then home. Well, why torture yourself? No one will appreciate your exhausted face and tormented legs.

Gel liners are a great invention! When I go to the club in heels, I always have inserts. The legs do not get tired, the foot does not slip, the shock absorption is good.

to determine the maximum length of the heel, you need to put on the shoe in the store and stand on tiptoes; if there is more than 3 cm from the heel to the floor in this position, you can take it, if it is less, it will hurt to walk. I'm convinced. One very beautiful pair of shoes is just lying there like a dead weight, I can’t walk in such heels.

but in general it depends more on the last: I once had stiletto heels (8cm, probably), well, I felt like wearing slippers. I've never come across anything like this!

I can walk on boots with a very light gait, I can also run on them))
I think it also depends on the weight, the less weight the less.
And also willpower))
Even when my shoes rubbed, I never limped, straightened my shoulders and walked as easily as possible.
And if nothing rubs, I completely forget about heels

Also, don’t concentrate on the fact that you’re wearing heels. Imagine that you are about to drink and soar above the ground, take an easier step, gradually get used to it.
But I have good ballet skills, maybe because of this it’s easy for me.

I can walk easily in 10 cm heels, even stiletto heels. But pumps + stilettos are only for going out

Of course, your legs hurt if you walk all day. For example, a heel of 11 cm, walk to work (1.5 km), walk 2 km to the bank and back for lunch, then go shopping in the evening, and all by metro. But a foot bath saves the day). Just a day in heels in the office (+ a trip there and back and a walk at lunch) - in general, absolutely painless.
Learning to walk in heels is not very difficult - first, generally practice a beautiful gait with a straight back (with a book on your head), then walk with this correct gait in heels around the house, then take forays on the asphalt - to the store, to the bank. Everything is done gradually! Good luck)

kilometer in heels. uuuu, I'm at most from the bus stop to the university or home. The girls and I learned this back in school - I remember we hobbled around like that)) the boys laughed at us. Well, that’s okay, but now I only walk like this, straightening my legs and my back too. and then some women as adults begin to learn to walk in heels, it’s just funny and it’s immediately noticeable that she just bought shoes, but doesn’t know how to walk in them))!

To walk easily in heels you need to have trained and stretched foot muscles and less body weight. Well, and foot size, of course. My mother is 35, and I am 40. What is a prohibitive heel for her, is almost a slipper for me.

1. Walk around on tiptoes at home as much as you can 2. Buy only good, expensive shoes with a comfortable last - as they wrote here (Zara is terrible, for example - beautiful, but damn uncomfortable) 3. Gel inlays only complicate things, your feet slip terribly 4. Do foot massage and ALWAYS rest your feet after wearing heels, otherwise varicose veins are inevitable. 5. Start with closed shoes or stiletto boots; sandals are for an advanced user)) 6. Practice, practice and practice again! Good luck!

But it seems to me that you should choose shoes with both high heels and platforms. These shoes look very nice because... they are high-heeled, and due to the platform, the length of the heel seems to be leveled out. Those. the actual heel height will be equal to the heel height minus the platform height. I have verified from my own experience that walking in such shoes is much easier. In general, it turns out that we have two birds with one stone: our feet don’t hurt, and we walk in high heels. And the stores are full of such shoes now. It also happens that such a platform is made hidden, i.e. covered with leather along with the sock.

Gel inserts really help. Any brand, even Avon. I took it. They cost about 150 rubles. The leg doesn't get so tired with them. They wash well, are attached to the sole securely, and do not slip.

I can walk in 10 cm heels, these are the shoes I have and I’m used to them.
The other day I bought a 12 cm heel, open wicker clogs, or whatever they call it) it would seem that there is only a 2 cm difference, but it’s very hard, so I’m walking around the apartment. I walk like a drunk man, periodically losing my balance and swearing) I read that you need to walk with a book on your head, checked) It’s really easier with it)
As for the beauty of the gait, I think it will work out, which I really hope for, I really like the new purchase))

I can’t walk in shoes with 8.5 cm heels for more than two hours
Although two years ago I was running, my legs didn’t hurt, but now they hurt terribly ((((
May 19, 2010, 4:02 pm
The main thing is not to show that you are hurt/uncomfortable/tired, etc. people should think that walking in heels is easy and simple!

Oh, girls, from school, from the 9th grade, I wore heels, even to physical training (for which I received) =))) and there was no fatigue or pain. The only thing was that my feet were rubbing in new shoes, and then it was fine. Then I graduated from school, at the institute I already started switching to low shoes, I wore ballet flats because they became fashionable. Then I went to work, and then ran around the banks, etc. I switched completely to low soles. Now I can’t go out for an hour in shoes with heels, it’s so hard on my legs, it feels like they’re about to fall off! It’s such a shame, I used to be able to do it, but now it’s like a grasshopper, wow. I’m torturing myself, walking through the force in heels - up to one place. Moreover, you have such a feature in In the store my legs feel fine, but on the street it’s not very good, but in the evening everything is more or less normal for me. But during the day I can’t even take a step)
There is nothing more sexy and painful than high heels. Catching the admiring glances of men on our beautifully stretched legs, we often have only one thought in our heads - to hobble home as soon as possible. Heaviness and fatigue in the legs can be removed with simple exercises.
To avoid having to go to the dentist, you need to take care of your teeth. And do it right, and not by buying into numerous advertisements for toothbrushes, toothpastes and chewing gum. As soon as you wake up, wash your face and rinse your mouth, but don’t rush to brush your teeth. You should brush your teeth after breakfast and before bed. If it is not possible to brush your teeth twice a day, it is more important to brush in the evening. Don't get carried away with dental rinses. Use them only if inflammation occurs.
What a divine feeling it is to kick off your shoes and feel that the toe and heel, it turns out, can be on the same level. But sometimes just throwing your heels aside is not enough to relieve foot pain. The main tension falls on the calves. Therefore, in order to forever forget about fatigue in the legs, you need to “lengthen” them, as well as strengthen the muscles of the thighs and buttocks.
Stand on the floor with your hands and feet at the same time, without lifting your heels from the floor. The butt should “look” up. In this position, begin to do a bicycle with your legs - this helps to lengthen your calf muscles. Do the exercise for about a minute.
Stand at arm's length facing the wall. Step forward with your right foot and place your hands on the wall at chest height. Press your right knee against the wall (without lifting your heels) until you feel tension in your left. And so 8 times with each leg.
Get a small, hard ball, like a tennis ball (or steal one from your dog). Hold onto a wall for balance. Place the ball under your foot and try to stand on it. Balance on each leg for one minute.
Standing on your right foot, lift your left knee to a 90-degree angle and hold for 10-15 seconds, twisting your toe in the air. Repeat the exercise with each leg 5 times.
Lie on your back, bend your knees closer to your butt. Then lift your butt using only your legs - an exercise that is extremely beneficial for the gluteal muscles. First, lift your butt off the floor just a little 30 times, then 1-5 times as much as you can, then hold your butt in the air for a few seconds and continue pushing it further up from the air. If you want to complicate the exercise, you can lift your butt with only one leg, while the other is raised with its toe to the ceiling.
Balancing on each leg in turn with dumbbells in your hands, lift your other leg into the air in swallow pose. Do three sets of 10 reps on each leg, resting for a minute between sets.
