“B” - Involves diagnosing moderate shock-absorbing dysfunctions associated with flat feet. In this case, category “B” is assigned.

“G” — Assumes the presence of pathologies that are not accompanied by significant dysfunction of the foot. With such flat feet, a young man can enlist in the Ministry of Internal Affairs.
You can understand exactly what the term “serious impairment” means by referring to the Schedule of Diseases. Due to the fact that serious foot deformities and severe pain are diagnosed only at stage 3 of the development of the disease, it becomes obvious that only young men with categories “B” and “C” can be denied.
The autumn conscription ended quite recently. To this day, there are cases when a poor young man can be taken into the valiant ranks of the Russian army almost on New Year's Eve. First, we point out that you can read all the necessary information described below in the Decree of the Government of the Russian Federation dated July 4, 2013 N 565 (as amended on March 30, 2017) “On approval of the Regulations on military medical examination”, just check the current year of edition - 2018.
The military medical commission diagnoses this degree if the conscript has a flat foot with a longitudinal shape - an angle of no more than 140 degrees of inclination, with a transverse shape - no more than 12 degrees.

The military medical commission diagnoses the second degree if the conscript has flat feet with a longitudinal form - an angle of no more than 155 degrees of inclination, with a transverse form - no more than 15 degrees.
There is all the hype around second degree flat feet. Indeed, previously, with this degree, they were not drafted into the army, but were given the category of limited fitness. However, no more than two years ago, the military changed the situation. It is unlikely that citizens with a built-in degree of flat feet began to feel less discomfort during marches; most likely, the demographic crisis of the nineties had an effect, which is why today it has become incomparably more difficult to ensure the occupancy of military units.
A young man diagnosed with the second degree of flatfoot should not count on elite branches of the military, but service in ordinary units - in motorized rifles, artillery, the national guard and the like cannot be avoided.
As children of the 2000s approach conscription age, the situation with conscription will improve, and the attitude towards the second degree may also change, but this is far from certain. It remains to be advised to either accept it or play for time waiting for positive changes in the schedule of illnesses. Perhaps by then conscription service will be completely abolished, as is constantly being predicted.
With these degrees, everything remains unchanged - they will not be recruited into the army and are not going to for the next few years. It is physically impossible to serve with foot impairments of this order. Therefore, in peacetime, they are barred from joining the troops. You can safely come to the regional military registration and enlistment office, where you will be given a fitness category of “B” - limited fitness.
People with flat feet need to pay increased attention to the choice of shoes. This applies not only to everyday models, but also to sports models. Choosing the right running shoes is of utmost importance for those involved in cardio exercises such as running.
The most common deformational change, affecting one or both feet, manifests itself in the lowering of the arch, against which the “arch” disappears. This pathology entails other consequences. In a person suffering from flat feet, the mechanics of the knee joints begin to work differently. This changes the distribution of normal load, the gait becomes different, and the posture worsens.
Approximately twenty percent of people living in developed countries have some degree of flat feet. This is facilitated by wearing uncomfortable and too narrow shoes, excess body weight, including weight gain by women during pregnancy.
Foot deformation manifests itself when choosing the wrong shoes for both running and normal walking. If the pair is not suitable, then overpronation of the foot occurs when the perpendicular position of the axis changes, that is, it begins to “fall” inward. This condition manifests itself by rapid wear of the outer part of the heels.
The left and right feet most often have varying degrees of flat feet. This creates some imbalance when the axis of the ankles shifts, which entails uneven deformation of the skeleton and distortion of the figure. To avoid such an unfavorable consequence, you need to wear special orthopedic shoes.
This recommendation applies to absolutely any shoe. The most “dangerous” are beach-type flip-flops. You should only wear those models whose style additionally supports the foot. Otherwise, the existing deformation will worsen.
The foot should not move to the right or left. Therefore, shoes should always be well laced. The size should be selected so that there is at least one centimeter of space in the sock, allowing the toes to be free.
There are many situations in which people with flat feet need to wear flat shoes. If there is such a need, orthopedic insoles can provide foot support. It is necessary to remember that they will make the shoes much narrower.
It is recommended to buy insoles made taking into account individual characteristics, that is, made to order. When it is not possible to purchase these, even using ready-made models available for sale will be much better than just wearing shoes with flat soles.

Since running is a series of jumps, overloads associated with impaired biomechanics of the foot are intensified, since the entire body must absorb the impact with acceleration.

The progression or manifestation of symptoms of transverse flatfoot (impaired transverse arch of the foot) is possible. Most often this manifests itself as an increase in the “bone”, numbness of the 3rd and 4th toes, pain in the instep area.

Transverse flatfoot is clearly visible by the widened forefoot, tucked toes, inward deviation of the big toe and very characteristic calluses.

An orthopedist diagnoses the disease based on the results of the diagnostics. The military commissariat determines how possible it is to serve in the army with the identified degree of flatfoot. The pathology can be longitudinal, when it seems that the foot seems to be falling inward, or transverse - it is characterized by an expansion of the front part. A healthy foot has a bend of 126–131 degrees and a height of 39 mm. The question of whether people with flat feet are accepted into the army is largely influenced by the degree of deviation of these parameters.
As a result of loads distributed unevenly due to transverse or longitudinal curvature, severe pain appears, which gradually spreads to other parts of the musculoskeletal system. This explains why people with flat feet are not accepted into the army. Lack of treatment leads to flattening of the foot to a state in which movement may be limited. The irreversible consequences that arise from this can only be eliminated through surgical intervention.
With 1 or 2 degrees of pathology, when the young man was drafted into the army, one must try to prevent the progression of the disease. Modern military shoes allow a person with a foot deformity to feel comfortable. Special orthopedic insoles that support the arch of the foot also come to the rescue. This helps reduce the stress on the joints and reduce pain. It is recommended to select insoles according to age and body type and wear them every day. It is important that the soles of the shoes are not worn down, otherwise the insoles will do more harm than good.
