Channel One in the program “Little Things in Life” talked about how to get rid of a bunion without surgery in just 1.5-2 months. All you need is for this.
The lump-like protrusion of the bone on the foot is called Hallux Valgus. It appears when the big toe deviates towards the other toes, and the greater the deviation, the larger the size of the bump. You can do without surgery when the lump or bone does not interfere with wearing shoes and makes itself felt by mild leg fatigue and discomfort when walking.
But more often, people begin to think about treatment at a progressive stage of the disease, when the removal of bunions on their feet becomes a necessity.
Our patient, a 45-year-old woman, was one of the first to try the new technique. She is the first to have grade 4 hallux valgus deformity corrected without surgery Our center tested a special device, a foot corrector. The idea of the method is to gradually straighten it by applying a little force on the thumb.
The reasons for the appearance of a lump are different, here are some of them:
Hallux valgus usually develops on both legs, but there are cases of unilateral occurrence.
At the initial stage of the disease:
If this happens, then you should contact an orthopedist, even if it seems that the swelling will resolve on its own.
When the disease has just attracted attention, it is still possible to cure it with the help of corrective pads, physiotherapeutic procedures, and the use of ointments and creams.
It is advisable not to let the situation get worse, because subsequently the development of pathological processes begins to affect the choice of shoes, the rapid onset of leg fatigue, and gait. The area of the thumb begins to swell, turn red, pain appears and gradually becomes more severe. Then the thought of treatment is perceived as saving, and it’s good that if this happened at the initial stage of the disease, then there is hope for a cure without surgical intervention.
Even in the last century, removal of a bone on the big toe was carried out only surgically, which consisted of installing the articular bone in the correct position by removing or truncation. This method of treatment was painful and required a long recovery period.
No operation is needed if used.
The joint was aligned using installed pins, screws and plates. After the operation, the leg was fixed in a cast, and the patient could only move on crutches for a long time. The operated leg had to be at rest at all times; it was impossible to lean on it, because the slightest shift of the foot led to displacement of the plates and screws in the installed structure. The result was severe pain, and the patient had to undergo repeated surgery. Such strict rules made any movement problematic, and the patient had to be in a lying or sitting position almost all the time.
Currently, treatment of hallux valgus has become more convenient for the surgeon and less painful for the patient. The operations are carried out using laser technologies, which shortened the time of their implementation, and saved the patient from a painful and long period of rehabilitation.
Today, two main types of surgical treatment are practiced:
The attending physician determines which type of treatment to prefer, guided by the picture of the course of the disease at the time the patient seeks help.
Microinvasive surgery to remove bunions is characterized by the creation of small punctures within 3 mm, through which the bone tissue is excised and filed using a miniature scalpel and other micro-instruments. The axis of the finger joint is brought to its natural position, thereby eliminating the deformity.
The operation is carried out with radiographic tracking of the location of the joints, in which the surgeon sees the overall picture on the screen and easily controls the actions performed.
The consequences of such an intervention are less painful in comparison with the open method, and plaster is not required to fix the foot. But such an operation is performed only for minor joint deformities, so not everyone can use it. At progressive stages of the disease, other methods are required.
Microinvasive surgery requires a highly qualified doctor and uses advanced technologies, which makes its cost higher.
Surgery on the bunion of the big toe is reconstructive (from “reconstruction”). It is performed on an open area of the foot. For this, epidural anesthesia is used (injection of an anesthetic into the spine, into the so-called epidural space), in which all pain sensations are blocked by the anesthetic, and the person remains conscious.
Stop walking with hallux valgus. Start using.
The operation is carried out in a clinic, where the patient spends the first days of rehabilitation, then recovery takes place at home for another month to a month and a half. The duration of the operation depends on the amount of work and takes from thirty minutes to two hours. Because of this, its cost also varies.
Another method is practiced - laser resurfacing - in fact, this is the same surgical operation as reconstructive or microinvasive, but if you do not go into technical details, but observe from the outside, it will seem like a simple physiotherapeutic procedure.
To carry out grinding, a special device is used that creates a directed beam, which is the surgeon’s working tool. Under the influence of the beam and high temperature, the thinnest layer of bone tissue is destroyed, the effect is repeated many times and as a result the lump disappears without a trace. Along with tissue removal, disinfection and healing of the treated area occurs, thanks to the ability of the laser to literally seal fresh wounds.
Rehabilitation after the resurfacing procedure is the shortest, and there is no talk of any plaster as a foot fixation - it is simply not needed. The patient can already walk on the same day, and the next day he is discharged home. At home, the recovery process lasts another two weeks under the constant supervision of an orthopedist, then the patient can close the sick leave and go to work.
In which cases resurfacing is possible, the doctor determines; the cost will depend on the complexity and volume of work.
Currently, operations to correct a protruding bone in the leg are practically not performed free of charge, and patients have to choose a clinic not only based on reviews of the surgeon, but also on the cost of treatment. The cost of removing a bunion ranges from 30 to 60 thousand rubles and depends, first of all, on the method of removing the problem area.
The costs are considerable, but there is no alternative for progressive disease. If a protruding bone prevents you from wearing shoes, and the doctor determines the condition of the joint to be of the second degree of development of valgus deformity or higher, then you can only choose between constant torment that will last a lifetime and an operation that eliminates this problem.
For this reason, delaying treatment means dooming yourself to suffering and, again, costs, which later, due to the increasingly complex pathology and increased work, will only increase.
For high-quality rehabilitation, physical therapy is required; there are no exact dates when it can begin; for each case, the doctor determines them individually. The same thing happens with the determination of the permitted load. But the set of exercises performed during the rehabilitation period is similar to the complex recommended for prevention.
When performing therapeutic exercises, the main rule must be followed - do not bring efforts to the point of discomfort, and especially pain. If this happens, stop exercising, and if it happens again next time, you should contact your treating orthopedist.
Almost every operation on the big toe has positive reviews.
For example, Oksana Dolnova from Ufa says that for a long time she could not decide to have surgery, but then she realized that the problem was quickly getting worse and no other treatment methods other than surgery could help her. She found a clinic with good specialists and underwent surgery. According to Oksana, she spent only four days in the hospital.
The first days after the operation, Oksana’s foot hurt; painkillers helped Oksana to dull the pain. After discharge, she was advised not to strain her legs. Of course, Oksana was on sick leave and could stay at home all the time, however, the doctor did not forbid her to move independently and prescribed wearing orthopedic shoes for a month.
A year later, Oksana said that she was completely satisfied with the result, wears open shoes with pleasure, and only regrets that she was afraid for too long and did not dare to have the operation.
The thought of how to remove a bunion on the big toe without surgery comes to everyone who has encountered the problem of hallux valgus. Lucky are those who are not late in deciding to start treatment, which is only possible in the initial period of development of the disease.
Get ready to immediately follow simple rules:
They produce clamps for night and day. Daytime ones can be worn directly in shoes, they are small and their presence does not interfere with walking. Night clips are slightly larger and should be worn without shoes.
An alternative to a brace is a night bandage, which is designed in such a way that the foot muscles relax as much as possible and do not interfere with the corrective effect. Moreover, the patient can easily change the amount by which the finger deviates and fix it using fasteners in a position in which the joint does not show signs of discomfort and pain. Each time, the deviation must be increased as much as possible, focusing on the comfortable state of the joint and not leading to pain. A long course of using a corrective bandage should bring the fingers to a normal parallel position.
Statistics show that for more than half of patients the disease ultimately ends with surgery. But medicine does not stand still, and a development has already appeared that is designed to radically solve this serious problem.
The disease progressed quite quickly. At first this lump just gave me discomfort on my leg. Then I started to get very sick. Due to the fact that the big toe began to bend inside the foot, he began to push the second, which began to rise up and rest against the top of the toe of the shoe. And a painful callus formed at the bottom of my foot. And by the age of 54, I could no longer walk in my shoes at all! My legs felt like they were in a red-hot vice.
If surgical removal of “bones” on the legs is performed, then using a laser is the easiest and fastest way to do this. But what exactly we are talking about is not clear to everyone.
This problem is mainly female - men have their own concept of their own beauty and height in their own eyes. A man can only be forced to stand on his heels by playing a female role in a movie - a woman does this to the last opportunity. Until she faces a diagnosis: valgus, or “bunion” on the foot.
This state, if you compare it with driving a car, is very similar to the moment when the driver, at full speed, suddenly opened the door, as if about to get out.
Because it is the joint on the “driver’s” side that is susceptible to subluxation – the joint between the big (or first) toe and the foot. First (I) in medical terminology.
Why: at full speed?
What else can you call the age of 45-50 years, if not the very middle of life, when a steep turn (menopause) has just been passed or is being passed?
The question is not so much whether the body is normal weight or overweight. The main question is where the pressure from above is directed and how evenly distributed.
The foot, consisting of bones connected by ligaments, forms a system of arches (vaults). They work on the principle of a flat spring-plate and ensure uniform load distribution in both longitudinal and transverse directions.
Therefore, even super excess weight will not lead to hallux valgus if you walk in shoes with a normal heel height - such shoes provide a load on the foot that is close to the natural load.
When you “rise” to high heels, the body stands on tiptoes, and this “ballet” lasts for hours and years. The foot is not designed for such a long walk on tiptoe. And also for such a narrowly focused monstrous load.
When walking “on the feet,” the internal organs, weighing from fifty to a hundred kilograms, smoothly moving forward and down due to a shift in the center of gravity of the body, press with their entire mass on the heads of the metatarsal bones, which are not adapted for this. And their joints are simply crushed.
In the foot, which experiences enormous axial load, stagnation of venous blood occurs. The tight fit of tight shoes also contributes to this. Blood circulation in the tissues of the foot becomes insufficient, leading first to their gradual degeneration and then to destruction.
Lack of blood circulation leads to degeneration of cartilage tissue - as a result, stretching of the joint capsule begins. And now the heads of the bones that form the metatarsophalangeal joints not only slide against each other, but also dislocate to the side.
If the other joints, which form a cage, are located inside the foot and provide support to each other, then the joint of the big toe is located on the edge and therefore there is simply no support for it.
And it is on him that the load becomes maximum. As a result, it simply “falls out” in the direction of least resistance - outward, away from the foot.
But raising the heel of the foot to a significant height with excessive load on the metatarsophalangeal joints is not the only cause of hallux valgus.
The degeneration and destruction of cartilage is aggravated by other reasons that cause poor circulation in the feet (and in the legs in general):
And for other reasons that lead to disruption of the normal functioning of the joint, understandable only to specialists.
But the main reason why the foot takes the shape of water scooped up by the sides and therefore a sinking boat is the woman’s desire to be more attractive. Lack of self-confidence forces her to climb “on stilts” and walk around for days with her pelvis unnaturally tipped forward and her butt just as unnaturally protruding.
And “thank you” for such a value system should be said to the couturiers - the trendsetters.
Due to the fact that the causes of hallux valgus are truly insoluble, pills and poultices cannot solve the problem. And sooner or later the question of surgical treatment arises.
And here the laser “blade” has a significant advantage over a traditional scalpel, including low trauma and asepticity during manipulation.
The laser cut is much thinner, it is made faster and, therefore, damages the tissue less. In addition, the blood vessels crossed by its beam are sealed, minimizing blood loss.
The laser incision is also sterile due to the high temperature in the surgical field. Hence – fewer and less painful postoperative phenomena. And faster discharge from hospital.
Surgical intervention for hallux valgus poses a difficult task for the surgeon: how, without invading the joint, to correct its deformity, which has the appearance of a hernia protruding towards the weaker side?
If a carpenter were faced with the question: how to correct a board that had curved sideways in an arc to a straight state - and at the same time leave its area with valuable wood texture intact - he would cut a triangular wedge above it and connect the sections at the ends.
Carrying out a wedge-shaped resection of the metatarsal bone - its body, outside the joint area and restoring the resulting curvature to a straight line, the surgeon exactly follows the logic of the carpenter.
Only he “cuts” a wedge-triangle out of bone not with a saw, but with a laser - a device with remarkably fine tuning, allowing him to achieve pinpoint precision in his work. And carry it out literally with “little blood”, cleanly and quickly.
Previously, treatment of the “bone” was carried out using methods more reminiscent of barbaric-inquisitorial methods - the use of orthopedic corrective screws and even more “hellish” instruments. And the surgery consisted of removing the head of the metatarsal bone, which presses through any shoe with its “bump”.
Is it possible to talk about some kind of fully springy foot if, as a result of end-to-end fusion of the metatarsal bone and phalanx, the joint between them simply ceased to exist? What about after surgery to remove the phalanx? That would be simply blasphemy.
But now, in clinics in Germany and the Russian Federation, performing a cheilectomy or displacement osteotomy in any of its modifications (McBride, Shevron (Austin), Lapidus, SCARF) does not take more than an hour of time in the “one leg” version. And it allows you to stand on the operated leg within a couple of hours after the intervention on it, and within a week and a half - to fully return to a full life.
But this is in the case of an unadvanced stage of valgus pathology. Over those who continue to persistently increase their pathology, the sword of Damocles, the prospect of mutilation, hangs lower and lower every day. With an uncertain outcome both in terms of health and financially.
Of course, you can reach a state that requires the re-formation of the arch of the foot by tightening its ligaments and other gloomy “prospects”.
But is it worth it? If it is possible, after staying briefly in the surgical hospital, under local anesthesia, to perform laser removal of the bones on the legs that make up the protruding osteoarticular “bump”? And on both legs at once? And it will cost the following amount:
Several reviews with impressions of happy women who had bunions removed by laser.
The operation was performed on me in Kyiv using the latest technology. According to the doctor, they collected the foot, spread out by the disease, “in a pile,” sympathizing that it was too neglected. The operation was not performed using a laser during the entire procedure; if it had not been so neglected, it would have been done completely with a laser.
The laser is not like in horror films, and to cut through bones through punctures, the skin is not completely cut. Using some kind of instrument, crossing the bone, they change its orientation. There was a scar of several millimeters at the place where this was done, but after six months it turned white and was no longer visible.
It’s a pity that I didn’t have the operation 7 years ago, when everything was just beginning. Although, probably, there were no such things then. And then I myself would not have agreed. After all, a roasted rooster won’t bite us in one place yet...
In general, everything is normal, at the modern level: they explained everything in detail, what was wrong with me and why the “bones” returned after previous operations, and why they would not return after mine.
As I understand, if you restore everything correctly, then they don’t grow back - there’s nothing out of it. It became clear what “transverse flatfoot” means and why correctors did not help. If this knowledge and understanding had come to me a little earlier, I would have done everything with a laser and would not have suffered for so much time, there would be no need for incisions. But anyway, thank God, 4 weeks on Baruk’s shoes doesn’t count.
Now I walk happily without pain, I only periodically regret the wasted time.
I’ll be brief: I had the operation done at a university clinic in Moscow, and the next day I put the crutches against the wall - they were no longer needed. Operations are performed either for a fee or according to a quota. I paid 35 thousand, but I am very pleased with the result!
Surgeons can talk about many different techniques for “fixing” feet by removing either the bones in the foot or their fragments.
But about the operation to remove a bone on the leg with a laser, they unanimously say: yes, there are no contraindications to it.
The enthusiastic reviews of former patients who say that the method is excellent can also be trusted.
For a woman, giving up pumps is tantamount to saying: old age - the purely feminine concept of beauty is inseparable from high-heeled shoes.
Therefore, the “bone” delivers its very first and most crushing blow to the female psyche, as if saying: goodbye, youth. But since the fear of old age cannot help but terrify a woman, she stubbornly continues to “go through the pain.”
And then the blow to mental health is followed by a blow to physical health - destruction begins at the level of the physical body. Because trampling on one’s own nature and testing its strength cannot last forever.
There are two ways out here: either continue to mutilate your feet, or part with your “pumps”.
The main reason why the foot gradually begins to “spread” in width and the joint to “fall out” is not just the load on the foot from pressure from above. This is a consequence of excessive load on the foot, arched in the most unnatural way. The foot, its shape becoming more and more similar to a lying question mark. With a dot where the fingers are.
I often receive reproaches that I write little that is “personal.”
Footnote. Reminded me of an interesting book I recently read, The Road to Character, about how character is forged. In particular, using examples of people born around 1915-1920 who went through the war. In particular, George Bush Sr. (very unlike his son), at one time the youngest US military pilot:
“I have already made my first mistake. I began this article with a self-obsessed “I”. When George Bush Senior was running for the president he would cross out the “I“s in speeches that were prepared for him. His advisers would beg him to re-insert them, arguing that voters wanted to know about him and his innermost beliefs. He'd eventually do as his speechwriters requested but he'd then get a call from a higher power, his mother: “George, you're talking about yourself again.” And he would revert."
“I already made the first mistake of starting the article with the self-obsessed I. When Bush Sr. began the election campaign, he deleted all the I from his speeches prepared by aides. He was begged to return them, since it is important for voters to know about the personal views and interests of the candidate. He reluctantly inserted I back. But the next day he received a call from the Higher Authority, his mother: “George, you’re talking about yourself again!”, and he crossed out all the “I” again.”
This is how I feel when people ask me to write about my life. But sometimes I will write.
Before and After surgery
From George Bush to his feet. I had surgery to remove bunions in my foot. Which I recommend to everyone and that’s why I’m writing this article. I needed it for a long time, literally since childhood. I didn’t do it because the main love of my life is alpine skiing. And one thought: “What if I can’t ride?!” scared me for a few more years. Moreover, I had consultations with two very famous orthopedists, in New York and London, and both said: if it doesn’t hurt, don’t touch it. Someday later, when progress has moved forward.
And now he has progressed enough for me. The legs are no longer cast, one small incision is made on the side of the leg, there are no repeat operations, and you can walk right away. The anesthesia is spinal with sleep, not general (although I don’t understand the Russian horror of general anesthesia; modern general anesthesia is harmless).
The operation takes only an hour, a piece of bone is cut out, and titanium screws are installed. You don’t need to take them out later, it’s forever. The bones on the foot are completely removed.
It hurt for the first two days. Then it’s unpleasant. Then for two weeks there was severe swelling: if you put your legs down, it hurt. You pick it up - good. It is recommended to lie or sit with your feet up. But sit for two weeks? I asked the doctor: “What if you don’t sit?” Well, don’t sit, he says, the swelling will increase and it will hurt. And so, no difference. I walked from the first day, it wasn’t very pleasant, but it was nicer than lying down. After two weeks, as promised, the swelling subsided sharply and everything became normal. No pain, no discomfort.
The only thing is that after the operation you have to wear special shoes for six weeks, but this is such nonsense. They are not allowed to drive a car, but I drive. So there are no restrictions except sports. So now I just swim. It’s okay, you can survive a month by swimming.
This problem is very common, and I recommend everyone not to be afraid and have surgery.
The last photo is only 3 weeks after the operation, there is still a lot of swelling, but it’s quite possible to walk

Hallus Valgus, or otherwise “bumps on the feet”, or they are also called “bunions on the feet”, are a fairly common problem. Bunions on the feet can appear at any age, and it is worth noting that a large bunion on the foot can become a problem when choosing shoes: with a bunion, it is quite difficult to walk in heels, in addition, with a bunion on the foot, transverse flat feet develop. The severity of the bumps on the legs can range from 1st to 4th degree. Depending on the “degree” of the bone, the attending physician may suggest various standard removal techniques, but all of them require serious surgical intervention and a long rehabilitation period. Modern medicine is inclined to believe that removal of the lump must be done , since with age the problem only gets worse and a moment may come when it will be too late to perform the operation using a gentle method!
For information: an operation to remove a lump can be performed in any city and in any country (including Russia, Europe, and Israel), and even for free - since this operation is included in the municipal list of free operations. But this will be the usual classical technique, possibly with iron pins that will have to be removed; with the obligatory wearing of special shoes for several weeks (Baruk shoes) and subsequent use of crutches. And the recovery process will be long, up to six months. Our technique is unique , it is performed by only three surgeons in the world, two of them in our clinic.
Our clinic offers a minimally invasive method of performing leg surgeries with a minimal (10 days) recovery period after bunion removal. The operation can be done on both legs at once, or in stages: first, removal of the lump on one leg, then, after a couple of months, you can do a second operation on the second leg.
There is no point in smearing lumps (bones on the legs) with ointments - this is a bone growth on the leg, and if the lump is already there, don’t wait, have surgery! Various bump correctors and ointments for the bone will not bring a stable result, since they only relieve symptoms and do not treat the cause. An existing bunion can only be removed through surgery. Our unique method for removing cones on the feet allows you to walk two hours after surgery without the use of special shoes, crutches or pins! You can find out all prices for our services in the “cost” section. The cost of the operation is the price of the beauty and health of your feet! Bring joy to your feet!

Homemade recipes for hallux valgus can be used at any stage of the disease. But before treating a bunion with folk remedies, you should carefully familiarize yourself with the features of the therapy. Not all natural ingredients can be used without restrictions. Like medications, they have contraindications and must be strictly dosed.
It is not possible to permanently remove a bunion near the big toe using traditional medicine. This can be achieved only by surgical methods or orthopedic complexes.
Homemade recipes help fight pain, inflammation and swelling. Their effectiveness is high at any stage of treatment.
Traditional methods for valgus curvature of the finger have a local effect. Medicinal components of natural origin penetrate the affected tissues and have an analgesic and antipyretic effect. They also affect the elasticity of ligaments and help improve blood circulation in the feet.
You can treat a bunion near the big toe with folk remedies using various techniques. All of them are aimed at eliminating redness, irritation, corns and pain. Prepared from natural ingredients:
Baths, compresses and lotions have a shorter effect. But they also have a general strengthening effect.
Ointments and wraps are effective, but only in a limited area. They are a little more difficult to prepare and need to be applied more often. The method of treatment is selected individually, taking into account the nature of the pathology and tolerability of the procedures.
You can treat the bone at the toe with both warm and cold compresses. Mixtures with elevated temperatures are good for relieving foot pain and ligament tension. Cold compresses reduce swelling and inflammation.
To carry out the procedures, you need to prepare gauze or fabric napkins, polyethylene and a warm cloth. The technique for applying the compress is identical. First, a napkin with a medicinal agent is applied to the outbreak. Then the entire exposure surface should be covered with film. The third layer is wrapped around the leg with a warm shawl or scarf.
The exposure time is always the same. From 6 to 8 hours depending on the components. For stones, the following recipes for medicinal mixtures are used:
Compresses should be applied daily. The course for inflammation of a bone in the leg is 30–45 days. You can repeat up to 3 times a year.
The application of compresses is not allowed if there are purulent lesions or open wounds on the skin. The remaining restrictions are associated only with individual intolerance to the composition of the medicinal mixture.
The procedure not only eliminates the local symptoms of hallux valgus, but also has a positive effect on the circulatory system. Baths help improve trophism around the bone and prevent roughening of the skin. You can do them every day. The exposure time of medicinal solutions is from 15 to 30 minutes. When using aggressive liquids and acids, exposure should be reduced to 10 minutes. Lower your feet into the bath up to the ankles.
With simultaneous therapy with orthopedic shoes, baths will help to completely cure bunion deformation. Among the most effective formulations:
Treatment of the bone should be carried out for at least a month. You can repeat with each subsequent deterioration of the condition.
It is impossible to treat bunions on the feet with folk remedies at home without the use of lotions.
The essence of the method is to apply medicinal components to the bump, without subsequent insulation. The lotions are left for a short period of time from 10 to 30 minutes. To relieve acute pain and inflammation in the bone area, use the following types of lotions:
Treatment is carried out every other day. During breaks, other types of external therapy are used. The procedure is contraindicated only if you are allergic to certain products and substances. The most hypoallergenic component for lotions is cabbage; it can be used even in children.
Prescriptions for this type of therapy are based on long-term exposure. They can replace traditional physiotherapeutic procedures. Wraps should be carried out 3 to 4 times a week.
The treatment mixture should be applied to the entire area of the affected leg bone. For wraps, plastic compositions are prepared that can hold their shape. The most effective components are:
When applying the mixture, it should be similar to plasticine and completely adhere to the joint. Application exposure time is up to 2 hours. The clay wrap can be left overnight.
The procedure with warm paraffin is prohibited if there is a purulent focus or wound in the area of valgus deformity.
These folk remedies for bunions on the big toe are the most popular. For the preparation of ointments, medicinal herbs, food and beekeeping products are used.
The action of creams is based on deep penetration into the subcutaneous layers and relieving the symptoms of the disease. The treatment regimen involves applying medications to the joint up to 3 times a day every day. The most famous recipes for ointments for bunions:
Instead of ointment, you can also use pure bile or honey. If the medicine turns out to be too liquid and runs off the foot, it can be thickened with any animal fat. Therapeutic course is up to 8 weeks.
To get rid of bunions, therapy must be carried out regularly and in combination with other methods. During the treatment process, you must adhere to the following rules:
Reviews of home external treatment for bunions often contain information about the development of skin irritations. To prevent side effects, before starting therapy, the medicine should be used on a small area of the skin of the legs.
Treatment with folk remedies for pregnant women, nursing mothers and young children should be carried out under the supervision of a doctor.
Nothing helps better than red clay. Knead like dough and place on the bone. It relieves the heat and pain as if by hand. Ointment made from yolks also helps, but it takes a long time to make.
Svetlana, Nizhny Tagil
I have deformed big toes on both feet. Sometimes the pain becomes simply unbearable, especially in the evening. The bumps turn red and cannot be touched, and in the morning you still need to put on your shoes. I save myself only with bile and honey compresses. I don't dilute it with anything. I just apply it to a napkin and put it under film overnight. By the morning the redness disappears, and after a couple of days the inflammation goes away.
Nadezhda Nikolaevna, Kopeysk
My mother has been suffering from a growth on her big toe for several years. The bone cannot be removed because diabetic foot has developed. Salt baths help her a lot. She also drips iodine in there.
Hello! Who did it, please tell me how it all happens. If in St. Petersburg, what are the prices and in which clinic is it better to do it?
I did it in the West. I want to say that this is very painful. Although modern techniques were used. First they gave me an epidural injection in my leg. I waited a long time for my leg to go completely numb. Then they administered anesthesia. Awoke. For two days, painkillers were administered through an IV, at home, tablets + injections. Two weeks on crutches. 3-4 weeks - special shoes, but you cannot walk, only occasionally lean, i.e. again on crutches. Then you can do it without crutches, then without these shoes, but with revalidation. In principle, after two months I could walk in wide shoes. In a wide one, because the leg is swollen for up to six months.
my mother did it in Germany, the bone grew again. =(((((((((
I advise you to consult in Volgograd, with O.G. Teterina. He performs such operations using a new technique. The people leave satisfied.
Try it without surgery first. I'm doing this now. The bones on my feet were already very large and hurt constantly. a month ago I bought an orthosis http://www.medtech.org.ua/product_2476.html (there are definitely such ones in Moscow), now at night I put a cotton pad soaked in bile on the bone (at the pharmacy) and an orthosis that I tighten so that my thumb abducts strongly. I can’t sleep all night - I take it off somewhere in the middle of sleep, but... the bones have almost halved in size! The calluses on them have become smaller. shoes don't rub. the joint quickly moves into place. But I was already persistently looking for where to have surgery. By the way, I have now found more such orthoses http://www.unibo.ru/m93246/valjgusnaya-shina-sharnirnaya-san?kt-peterburg.htm. but mine suits me quite well.
I did it a month ago, in a state hospital, for free. Shede's operation with bone-tendon plasty and removal of bone growth - on both legs. I bought only post-operative shoes in advance - they were very useful, because... a couple of hours after the operation I needed to go to the toilet, but they don’t serve duck there, you see, the sisters “don’t get paid for this.” The operation itself was a terrible pain; they gave me local novocaine, which has almost no effect on me. I almost went crazy from the pain when they knocked off the bone growths with a hammer. After the first painkiller I fell asleep, when I woke up I didn’t feel any pain, and since then my legs have hardly hurt at all. She refused further painkillers - they were very good. harmful - analgin (spoils the blood), ketalone (NSAID) generally destroys joints. Go home on the 3rd day, then remove the stitches 2 weeks ago. A total of 3 weeks in these shoes, then in regular ones with insoles and liners for work. The hardest is the first week, when it is impossible to lower your legs - they swell instantly, until they turn black. Now the problem is that my feet won’t fit into almost any shoes, the only loose shoes are too tight (( I hope this is due to swelling, which will go away someday, and not from straightened toes, which have increased the size of the foot. The toes are developing, the seams are already barely noticeable , but walking is still difficult, although it hardly hurts.
How to develop a finger, otherwise it almost never bends
Many of us mistakenly consider the appearance of a bunion on the big toe to be a purely aesthetic problem. Doctors call this disease hallux valgus and insist that this disease, like any other, requires treatment and prevention.
Bunions appear more often in women. This disease is often inherited by them. If your mother has a bunion, there is a high chance that as you age, your foot will also begin to become deformed. However, if no one in your family suffered from such a problem, it does not mean that it will not bother you one day. A bunion occurs when the head of one bone protrudes over another. The more part of the bone protrudes, the more the thumb presses on the other fingers.
This can happen not only due to heredity. The cause is often flat feet, deforming arthrosis, chronic bursitis, disruption of the endocrine system and a number of chronic diseases . The idea that bunions are caused by wearing uncomfortable shoes is not a myth. Indeed, if you like high heels or wear narrow pumps, the likelihood of becoming the owner of a deformed thumb increases significantly.

Often, bunions appear in women who eat poorly and are overweight. The more kilograms you weigh, the more stress your feet experience, which means your bones and joints become more vulnerable. Sometimes men also develop bunions on their feet. Most often, the cause may be injury or some chronic disease.
When the bone begins to protrude, the foot loses its attractive appearance. It takes on an irregular shape, making it very difficult to find shoes. Instead of elegant shoes, you have to wear sneakers or soft, worn-out slippers. But that is not all.
A bunion not only spoils the appearance of your foot, it also incorrectly distributes the load on your knees and spine. If this disease is not treated in time, lameness may appear and begin to bother the joints.
The sooner you realize that a bone has begun to grow on your foot, the greater the likelihood that the disease can be cured in the early stages and without surgery.
Often people who are just beginning to develop this disease feel severe pain and aching in their legs in the evenings. Particularly disturbing is the aching pain in the toes and midfoot. The first symptoms of the disease are also the appearance of corns, checkers and calluses on the thumb and little finger. Wearing your usual shoes may also begin to cause discomfort for you - your favorite shoes suddenly begin to press and rub.
If bunions begin to appear on the leg, they are first treated with conservative methods, and then they talk about surgery.
At the initial stages of the disease, doctors strongly recommend forgetting about uncomfortable shoes and starting to wear orthopedic ones. Patients are also prescribed physiotherapy, massage and various exercises to help strengthen the muscles of the feet.
If foot deformity begins, be sure to consult a podiatrist. He may prescribe you to wear special inter-toe silicone rollers or an elastic band that secures the foot and prevents it from deforming.
All means are good in the fight against this disease, therefore, while it is still possible to cope with it without surgery, you can resort to the help of traditional medicine .
To avoid the appearance of bunions, you need to start eating right and stop wearing narrow, uncomfortable shoes. Let your wardrobe include not only high-heeled shoes, but also moccasins, ballet flats, sneakers and flat boots.
Don't be lazy and do simple leg exercises in the evenings. To strengthen your foot muscles, wiggle each toe separately for a few minutes. Also scatter paper clips or matches on the floor and pick them up one at a time, then put a sheet of newspaper and first with your left and then with your right foot, crumple it into a tight ball. It's useful and fun at the same time.
Rub the cream into your feet in the evenings and give them a light massage. Stretch your fingers, paying special attention to the area where the pit may appear. This will help relieve fatigue from the foot and will be a good prevention of the disease.
One of the popular remedies is treatment with raw fish. Place raw fish in the refrigerator, cut a piece from it every evening and place it on the bone overnight. It is important that the piece contains not only pulp, but also bones. Treatment in this way lasts for three months: fish is added throughout the first week, and fir oil is rubbed into the second week. After three months of such treatment, the bone should become smaller or disappear altogether.
The disease can also be treated with bone tar. To do this, you need to bury a cast-iron pot in the ground, surrounding it with firewood. Place chopped chicken, beef or pork bones into it and light a fire. The bones should melt. The resulting viscous substance should be lubricated regularly.
The bone can be treated with iodine. To relieve pain, you can do a simple iodine grid at night. You can also mix iodine with several aspirin tablets and lemon juice and rub this solution into your leg in the evening.
There are dozens of recipes for all kinds of ointments that are prepared from herbs and other ingredients. For example, you can mix bodyaga, camphor, hot pepper, ethyl and ammonia and rub this hot mixture into the bone. Be careful - this solution can burn your skin. It is believed that this solution is quite effective, so to get rid of the stone, you should be patient.
It is recommended to choose a folk recipe for yourself - the composition of the ointment or tincture should in no case include components that cause allergies. If none of the methods help, surgery is prescribed. Most often, it is not considered difficult and the very next day doctors allow the patient to get up and return to work after 2 weeks. Take care of your feet, carry out preventive procedures and be healthy!
