He also experienced his share of boyhood misadventures...
At the age of ten, he was hit by a car and was in a coma for 10 days. Due to poorly treated wounds, he developed blood poisoning and as a result of all this, his left arm stopped bending at the elbow. This is, in any case, how this episode looks like as presented by Stalin himself. This looks implausible, if only because the first car was assembled by Daimler only in 1885, and it is difficult to imagine that just four years later such a car could appear on the streets of a provincial Georgian town.
On the day of Epiphany, many people gathered near the bridge over the Kura River. No one noticed how the phaeton was racing down the mountain, losing control. The phaeton crashed into the crowd, ran into Coco, hit him in the cheek with its drawbar, knocked him off his feet, but, fortunately, the wheels only passed over the boy’s legs. A crowd gathered and carried Coco home in their arms. At the sight of the crippled man, the mother could not hold back her scream. The doctor announced that the internal organs were not damaged. A few weeks later he returned to classes.

Stalin himself officially attributed the “left-sided paralysis” of his arm to an accident that happened to him in childhood.
His hand was normal, but he held it like this, some kind of operation apparently took place in childhood. He got hit by a phaeton...
Blood poisoning affected his left hand. The arm began to dry out and was slightly shorter than the right one.
It was rejected for Stalin's army in 1916.
“They thought I would be an undesirable element there,” he told us, “and then they found fault with my hand.”
Stalin's left arm did not bend well at the elbow. He damaged her as a child. The bruise on his arm caused suppuration to begin, and since there was no one to treat the boy, it turned into blood poisoning. Stalin was dying.
“I don’t know what saved me then, a healthy body or the ointment of a village healer, but I recovered,” he recalled.
But the mark of the bruise on my hand remained for life...
Alliluyeva A.S. (Stalin’s wife’s sister). Memories. M., 1946. P. 29
Professor Pletnev, who repeatedly had the opportunity to personally observe this hand, considered this shortening and functional limitation to be a consequence of an infectious disease suffered in childhood, possibly polio, that is, infantile paralysis. Only after Stalin's death did his daughter Svetlana report that the reason for the shortening and dysfunction of her father's left arm was an error by the obstetrician at his birth. Vandenberg points out that there is a connection between this deficiency and the early syphilitic infection allegedly discovered in clinical studies, but such an assumption seems extremely unlikely.
Stalin crippled his hand during one of the expropriations (as the revolutionaries playfully called expropriations. - E.G. ), he was dexterous and brave. During the seizure of money in Tiflis, he was among those who attacked the crew...

But be that as it may, Stalin’s left hand remained defective throughout his life and was four centimeters shorter than his right.
The face is covered in smallpox spots, the eyes are brown, the mustache is black, the nose is ordinary. Special features: there is a mole above the right eyebrow, the left arm does not straighten at the elbow.
From a police report
Quote by: Tucker R. S. 123
Trotsky wrote many years later that even at Politburo meetings, Stalin wore a warm glove on his left hand. This further deepened his feelings of inferiority and the need for self-affirmation.
He was an excellent swimmer, but was embarrassed to swim in Kura. He had some kind of defect on his foot, and my great-grandfather, who went to high school with him, once teased him that he was hiding the devil’s hoof in his shoe. But it cost him dearly. Coco didn't say anything then. More than a year has passed. At that time, the main strongman of the school, Tseradze, followed Coco like a dog on a leash. Great-grandfather had already forgotten everything when Tseradze brutally beat him...
I'm reading "The Medical History of I.V. Stalin." On one of the pages it is written: “Splicing the toes of the left foot.”
Among his many arrests, one, in Batum in 1902, deserves special mention, because in the police archives there is a description of his signs, among which there is, in particular, the following: “Small congenital deformity of the fusion of the second and third toes on the right foot.”
The former commandant of the Bolshoi Theater, and in fact one of Stalin’s guards, A. Rybin, told me how he and Stalin went to Lake Ritsa. We set off in full confidence that everything at the dacha was ready to receive the leader. But, as usual with us, everything turned out to be wrong - there was even nowhere and nothing to sleep on. We lay down right on the shore - in sleeping bags. In the middle of the night, Stalin woke up.
- Well, you snore! - he told the guards, took his sleeping bag and went to sleep alone.
- He was such a simpleton, this Stalin! — I remember A. Rybin’s phrase verbatim.
Sometimes Stalin, rolling up his trousers with stripes, walked barefoot in the water. I asked A. Rybin whether Stalin had six toes on his feet, which I read about in one “democratic” publication at the height of perestroika. Rybin was even taken aback:
“If it had been, we probably would have noticed it right away.”

Court soothsayers and historical gossip
The conversation somehow flowed onto Rasputin, to which Alexander immediately remarked: “What was the queen supposed to do when Nicholas II was a morphine addict! Rasputin must have fucked her.” His story about how Rasputin saved the Tsarevich from the fall of a chandelier should have fallen on fertile ground, but I refused; the cars began to accelerate a little in the area of \u200b\u200bthe intersection of Kutuzovsky and Bolshaya Dorogomilovskaya.
“We are sitting at the table: family, friends, relatives - they came to accompany me to Afghanistan. We already drank, had a bite, and then my mother brings me a piece of cloth, and a prayer is embroidered on it. Take it with you, he says. But where am I with this, I’m an officer, a member of the CPSU. And she: take it, she says, quickly, hide it and don’t show it to anyone. Well, I took it.
I arrived at the location, they assigned me a room in the dorm, and on the first night I had a dream: as if a Divine image appeared to me, the whole figure was luminous, I couldn’t see the face, but now, I believe, it’s probably God himself. He appeared and said: “EVEN YOU CHEAT ON YOUR WIFE HERE, YOU WILL NOT COME BACK ALIVE!”
The next day, I’m sitting in my room, writing a letter, and then a woman comes in from the hostel’s housekeeping department. What are you doing, he says. I say, I’m writing a letter. And the woman is so normal. She says, well, let me help. And after this dream, what am I like! I say, you don’t need anything!! He forcibly drove her away. And so during my entire service there I NEVER changed even once, although there were opportunities, wow!”
Alexander told it very tasty, playfully, as garrulous Soviet soldiers with the rank of lieutenant colonel can do, but there was not a drop of doubt in his face, since not once did he find confirmation that a Higher Power was protecting him.
“The first time it was like this: we go in a chain, clear the area. Next to me is our commander, about one and a half meters away, Volodka Perov, an excellent guy. We didn’t have time to come to our senses when we were hit by automatic and machine gun fire. In 3 minutes of battle - 30 corpses, Volodka had two bullets - both in the forehead. I miraculously remained alive. And the second time they sent me to an artillery point, about a km and a half from us to climb a hill, not high - 600 meters. And so the driver and another fighter with him got into the UAZ, and I said, go ahead, I’ll take a walk. How it pushed me out of the car!! Don't sit down! And so they drove off, after a couple of minutes I saw that they veered along the road and down the cliff. They turned over several times, but the UAZ got back on its wheels. I go to them - there is no glass, one of them has a broken head, the driver is unconscious. I drove and sent them to the hospital. Then I came to visit them, and they tortured me, saying, “Why didn’t you go?!” And I say: I DON’T KNOW, I DON’T KN-A-Y!”
Next time, before you sob into your pillow because of your “crooked” legs, a hump on your nose or uneven teeth, remember that even the star beauties that millions of men around the world dream of cannot boast of... a perfect body. They simply learned to disguise their cute (and sometimes not so cute) flaws or pass them off as advantages. Megan Fox Appearance defect: deformed fingers On the set of an advertising campaign for a new model for Motorola, the actress had to resort to the help of a stunt double. Megan asked not to take close-ups of her... hands. It turned out that the “sexiest woman on the planet” is beautiful, but not to the tips of her nails. Megan suffers from brachydactyly (a congenital abnormality of the fingers), due to which the big fingers grow more slowly than the rest and the nails on them look underdeveloped. Paris Hilton Appearance defect: “lazy” eye We never noticed that every time Paris posed for photographers. squints his left eye? Several years ago (possibly after unsuccessful plastic surgery), the famous blonde’s left eyelid began to seriously sag. The defect cannot be corrected - the heiress's love for colored contact lenses has extremely depleted the mucous membrane. Yes, Paris doesn’t want to change anything - can she really give up her sky-colored eyes and return to her natural brown shade? This is so “boring”! Lily Allen Appearance Defect: Third Nipple “When you touch it, it gets hard,” Lily never misses a chance to talk about her... third nipple. As a rule, the matter does not end with stories alone - the singer is happy to demonstrate the “miracle of the body” to everyone. Lily is lucky that this is the 21st century, because there were times when those with a third nipple were considered witches and burned at the stake. Today, such a genetic anomaly appears in one woman in fifty and looks like a large mole. Kate Bosworth Appearance defect: eyes of different colors On the red carpet, Kate Bosworth always looks dazzling, but if you get closer to her, it seems that she is. I mixed up my colored contact lenses. The actress has congenital heterochromia of the iris: one eye is brown, the other is blue. This symptom is often found in animals - dogs, cats, horses, but in humans it is rather an exception to the rule. Vanessa Paradis Appearance defect: gap Do not rush to the dentist if you notice a gap between your front teeth. Thanks to the charm of Vanessa Paradis, perfectly straight teeth have long been out of fashion! Glossy magazines and giants of the beauty industry sing the praises of the gap, which not only does not spoil the face, but also gives it a special charm. Today it is believed that such a slit indicates a special sexuality and cheerful disposition. But dentists call it a diastema (bite defect). Kate Hudson Appearance defect: lack of breasts Kate Hudson has never been embarrassed by her small breasts, which looked completely cramped in a bikini. boyish. “She’s the same size as me in the comedy White Chicks,” Marlon Wayans burst out when the strap of her dress treacherously slipped off her shoulder during the American Music Awards. “The main thing is not the opinion of others, but self-awareness,” the beauty waved it off. However, there are rumors that on her birthday, in April of this year, she enlarged her breasts to... size one. Julia Roberts Appearance defect: huge mouth A few years ago, Hugh Grant, recalling his joint filming with Julia Roberts, opened up and admitted that “when you kiss her, you hear a small echo.” Of course, the British heartthrob was joking! However, the “beauty’s” huge mouth really violates the ideal proportions of her face. However, would Julia have made her dizzying career without her wide smile (and endlessly long legs, of course)? Hayden Panettiere Appearance defect: short legs Vladimir Klitschko’s lover is the unlucky owner of a problematic figure. Not only does she have to constantly struggle with being overweight and endure attacks because of her short stature, but Hayden’s legs don’t grow from her ears at all. In order to somehow hide the last flaw, Hayden carefully chooses his wardrobe, giving preference to shoes with stunning heels, and dates two-meter-tall gentlemen. Katy Perry Appearance defect: problem skin Before her wedding to Russell Brand, the 25-year-old star is desperately fighting not only with excess weight, but also with problem skin. “I’ve always been pretty pimply,” she admits. “I even have scars after eating too much, which I am very embarrassed about and carefully cover with foundation.” This year, Katie declared final war on the red bumps on her face - she became the ambassador of the Proactiv Solution facial care line. Halle Berry Appearance defect: six toes Year after year, authoritative men's publications include Halle Berry in the ratings of “the most beautiful women on earth” and this despite the fact that the actress was born... with six toes. Doctors call this anomaly polydactyly. According to statistics, one baby in 5,000 is born with six fingers and usually the extra finger is immediately removed surgically. Curious why Holly's parents decided to keep him?
I think I’ve already seen this somewhere..post I mean(

I took it from the chips, I actually knew about Halle Berry’s fifth finger, about Julia Roberts and it’s clear, as well as about Kate Hudson) but I didn’t know the rest, I decided to share with you
About Halle Berry's sixth ))) finger

Megan's nails look very, very ugly
the gap may add some charm, but I wouldn’t want one like that
about 6-toed ones they say that this is a mark from above. Such people achieve a lot in life.
18 January 2011, 14:28
Yes? I was born with six toes. The “extra” ones were removed at 9 months of age. Although I miss them))))))))
18 January 2011, 14:39
And I don’t consider six toes a deformity. Marilyn Monroe also had six toes.
18 January 2011, 14:41
Wow! turns out this is common? I never paid attention.

the phrase Hayden - unhappy, is somehow inappropriate, in my opinion she is very happy, just look at her photographs, a walking positive person
and generally short stature is not a sign of tragedy, I dare say officially))))
18 January 2011, 14:35
Agree. Women under 2 meters tall are much less fortunate - firstly, you can’t really wear heels, and secondly, it’s difficult to find a guy who’s not much shorter
18 January 2011, 14:50
6 fingers, wow!)))
about Katy Perry - “scars after being full” I didn’t immediately understand what kind of fullness we were talking about) the epic “oh you wolf’s fill, a bag of grass”) pops up in the subconscious
for Panettiere, the option “dating two-meter-tall gentlemen”, on the contrary, emphasizes her short stature.
There is a legend according to which the actress's name is made up of the names of two great actresses Jean Harlow and Norma Talmadge. Gladys, the mother of the future Marilyn, worked in a film laboratory. She was delighted with Norma Talmadge, the silent film actress. Gladys paid close attention to Norma's photographs. Gladys named her newborn daughter in honor of her favorite actress.
The future Marilyn received her middle name - Jean - not at all in honor of the platinum blonde Jean Harlow. When Norma Jeane was born, Harlow was named Harleen Carpenter. She began to use the name Jean Harlow only in 1928, when Norma Jean was already 2 years old.
The basis for this “legend” was a photograph taken on the beach by photographer Joseph Jasgur. Young Norma Jeane posed for him on Zuma Beach. A lump of sand stuck to Marilyn's foot and created the illusion that the actress had six toes.
Photo deception is easy to detect. It is enough to study other photographs of the actress and it will become clear that there are exactly five toes, and Marilyn’s feet do not have any peculiarities.
Photos of an actress are often edited, and just as often people who have nothing to do with her are passed off as an actress. Often such fakes can be mistaken for reality:
The answer depends on who you ask :)
As proof of the romance between the actress and the president, photographs are often shown of them together.
However, such photos are easy to fake: take a look, for example, at these photos taken by photographer Alison Jackson in 2000, in which a Marilyn lookalike walks next to a Princess Diana lookalike.
The actress's double actually looks like this:
There is only one photograph of Monroe and Kennedy together:
In 2005, a message appeared on the website of the American television channel ABC News, which nevertheless testifies to the connection between Marilyn Monroe and John Kennedy. In particular, it talks about a gold Rolex watch, which the actress allegedly gave to the American president. Marilyn presented the gift on May 19, 1962. The watch was engraved with the inscription: JACK, With love as always from MARILYN, 29 th 1962. But John Kennedy asked his assistant Kenneth O'Donnell to get rid of the gift. Kenneth did not comply with the president's request. All these years the watch was kept by O'Donnell's daughter and in 2005 the watch was sold at auction for 120 thousand dollars.
There have been many years of debate about whether Marilyn was the prototype for the image of Tinker Bell. As evidence, they cite a book by Riese and Hitchens, “Marilyn from A to Z,” which says that Monroe was the model from whom Tinker Bell was “written.” There are also smaller works, as well as documentaries about Disney, which say the same thing.
Despite this, clear evidence does not exist. There are no records of Monroe modeling for Disney or photographs of her as Tinker Bell.
But there is a lot of evidence in favor of the fact that the prototype of the image of Tinkerbell was actress Margaret Kerry. To make animation, studios made props to match the movie scenes, filmed models in character using the props, and later used a photo as a reference.
Disney Studios has pictures of Margaret Kerry with props from the movie Peter Pan. For example, the scene where Tinkerbell looks through the keyhole. In the photo, Margaret Kerry is peeping through a keyhole, and next to it you can see props from the film “Peter Pan”, prepared by Mark Davis.
There are no similar photos with Marilyn. Therefore, photos of Margaret Kerry in the role of Tinker Bell seem to be more reliable evidence that it was Margaret Kerry who became the prototype for the image of Tinker Bell.
Marilyn was so popular that her image inevitably became part of a variety of speculations. However, there is no evidence that Tinker Bell was “written” from her; there are only individual opinions of some authors of books about the life of the actress.
On August 7, 2011, at an auction in Buenos Aires, Michael Barca put up a 6-minute black and white film, presumably shot in 1946-47. On the film, a girl who looks like Marilyn Monroe makes love to an unknown man. The seller claims the footage was taken when Marilyn "was poor and desperate to break into show business."
Despite the relatively low starting price for such a lot—$500,000—there were no buyers. The authenticity of the film is in doubt, and it is impossible to prove who was actually filmed on it.
And in 2008, another such film went under the hammer for $1.5 million. The buyer wished to remain anonymous.
“Post from the past”: Today, August 5, is exactly 50 years since Marilyn Monroe passed away.
Marilyn Monroe (Norma Jeane Mortenson) was born June 1, 1926 (age 85) in Los Angeles. Legend has it that she was named after Norma Talmadge, a famous actress of the time. Norma's mother, Gladys, who worked in a Hollywood film laboratory, looked at the footage of Norma Talmadge with close attention. She admired this silent film star. And when Gladys had a girl, she decided to name the child in honor of her favorite actress. Gladys believed that her daughter would also become a movie star.
2. Norma-Marilyn’s childhood cannot be called happy. She did not have a father, and her mother, a strange and unbalanced woman, considered that she could not raise her daughter on her own, and gave her to a foster family at the age of two weeks. Where the girl lived for 7 years, only occasionally visited by her mother. After 7 years, Gladys took her daughter back, but not for long. Soon she had a mental breakdown, during which she attacked someone with a knife, and she was sent to a mental hospital. Norma spent the rest of her childhood in an orphanage and several foster families, where they tried to rape her twice when she was not yet 12: the first time by her stepfather, and the second time by her cousin. The consequence of this was, according to one version, frigidity and distrust of men. About sex she said: “Personally, sex and sexual problems occupy me no more than cleaning shoes,” “If I ever understand why people are so interested in sex, I will be very lucky.” Before the age of 19, Marilyn tried to commit suicide twice. Once she turned on the gas, the second time she swallowed sleeping pills.
3. Marilyn’s first independent victory was getting rid of her congenital stutter. It worsened after the orphanage: the girl could not utter two words without hesitation. She corrected her deficiency for three years. And at the age of 16, without the help of speech therapists, I got rid of stuttering.
4. Marilyn got married for the first time at the age of 16, in 1942, after which she dropped out of school and moved in with her husband, Jim Dougherty. It was more of a necessary measure than a whim, since she was afraid of ending up in an orphanage again. The adoptive family was planning to move, but they didn’t want to take her with them. Therefore, the early marriage was immediately approved. A year after the wedding, Jim went to serve in the navy, and Norma Jeane went to work at an aircraft factory.
5. In the fall, a team of directors and photographers arrived at the plant with the goal of making a photo report about the contribution of American women to the fight against Nazism. Photographer David Conover, noticing Norma Jeane, offered her to pose for a series of photographs for $5 an hour. She agreed. Thus began her stellar career. Soon she left the factory and began working as a fashion model. Jim, who returned from the war, did not like this and gave Norma an ultimatum: either a career or a family. But she had ambitions, she wanted to act in films, and at that time she found out that producers preferred unmarried actresses. The fate of this marriage was predetermined. She later said: “I always knew that I became famous not because of my talent or beauty, but only because I never completely belonged to anyone or anything.”
6. Twenty-year-old Marilyn was not classically beautiful, and behind the radiant smile in the photographs for magazines, postcards and calendars there was hidden the sadness that had settled in her since childhood, a lot of complexes and a tendency to severe depression. Later, one of her close critics would write: “Not being loved at 25, or 35, or 45 is bearable if you were loved at 5 years old. To say that Marilyn was treated with affection as a child is to say very little.” Marilyn herself recalled: “No one ever called me daughter. Nobody ever hugged me. No one has ever kissed me…” and “When a little girl feels lost and alone, feels like no one needs her, she can’t forget it for the rest of her life.” In psychology there is such a concept as “Marilyn Monroe syndrome” - a complex destructive psychological complex as a consequence of a lack of attention, care and love in childhood.
7. In August 1946, she received an offer to sign a contract at the Twentieth Century Fox film studio, where she was hired as an extra. At the studio, she was offered the names Carol Lind, Claire Norman, Marilyn Miller, but in the end they settled on the name under which she later became famous - Marilyn Monroe. The surname Monroe belonged to her grandmother. By the end of 1951, she was receiving 2-3 thousand letters from fans a week. In March 1954, Marilyn received the Most Popular Actress award (which was true). In January 1955, Marilyn announced the creation of her own corporation, Marilyn Monroe Productions, in which she was president and majority owner.
8. “The Greatest Blonde of All Time” was born brown-haired. She became blonde around the same time when she changed her name to a pseudonym. In addition, she underwent several plastic surgeries. Surgeons corrected her nose and reshaped her chin. They also solved the problem with her hair, which grew in a triangular protrusion on her forehead. Since childhood, her favorite actress was Jean Harlow, a Hollywood star of the 30s who died at the age of 26. This hobby largely predetermined Marilyn’s transformation into a blonde and influenced her choice of life path. Contemporaries often called Marilyn Monroe the second Jean Harlow. Marilyn Monroe was even offered to play Harlow in a biographical film about her life. At first she refused, but then changed her mind and even made an appointment with the producers of the future film, however, like Jean, she suddenly died.
9. Early in her career, when things weren't going well, Marilyn posed nude for a series of calendars. She was paid $50 an hour for this work. At that time, photographs of nude models were considered pornography, and such activity was considered illegal for film actresses. However, for Monroe, who was then struggling to make ends meet, that $50 was a lot of money. After Marilyn became famous, a scandal erupted when someone saw a resemblance between the girl from the calendar and the famous actress. And already in December 1953, Hugh Hefner purchased a picture from this calendar for $500; he decorated the first issue of his new Playboy magazine (53rd year) with it. As a result, all this hype only made Monroe even more popular.
10. After this, images of naked Monroe were found literally everywhere - on cups, pillowcases, playing cards, and so on. In this case, a nude photo of her in a bar on an airbase in Greenland.
11. In January 1954, she married famous baseball player Joe DiMaggio. This marriage lasted only 9 months. However, DiMaggio subsequently continued to take care of Marilyn and tried to provide moral support in her career. After her wedding to DiMaggio, the 20th Century Fox film studio invited her to star in the musical “There’s No Business Like Show Business.”
12. In January 1954, they went on their honeymoon to Japan, where DiMaggio had a job waiting for him. At that time, baseball became very popular in this country, and the legendary player was asked to conduct some training sessions with the Japanese team. While in Japan, Monroe received an unexpected offer to perform for American soldiers serving in the Korean War. For them, seeing the famous “cover girl” live seemed like a miracle. Taking the stage, surrounded by a sea of people in khaki uniforms, Monroe exclaimed: “I’ve never seen so many men in one place!” She sang several songs, which were received with cheers by the soldiers. Subsequently, the actress called this concert one of the most exciting events in her life.
13. Most directors complained that Marilyn was difficult to work with. She constantly forgot and confused words, was late for filming, or completely disappeared for several days. It took 20–40 takes to make the episode good. Although Monroe was famous for her ability to create problems for producers and directors, she behaved very kindly with ordinary people. When the actress was in Japan, a maid from the hotel where they were staying exclaimed: “What voluminous hair you have!” “And they’re still worse than yours,” Marilyn replied. Sometimes Marilyn introduced herself by the name Zelda Zork and wore a black wig so as not to stand out from the crowd.
14. During the filming of The Seven Year Itch, the relationship between Marilyn Monroe and Joe DiMaggio deteriorated due to Joe's jealousy. Then Marilyn invited him to the shoot to make sure everything was okay. But he came just on the day when the legendary scene was being filmed in which the air flow from the ventilation hatch lifts Marilyn's skirt. Joe was furious and their nine-month marriage soon fell apart.
15. Back in 1950, Marilyn met playwright Arthur Miller, but then they broke up and met again in 1955. By that time he was divorced and had two children from a previous marriage. In the summer of 1956 they got married. This marriage was the longest, but not the happiest: they lived together for four and a half years and divorced on January 20, 1961. It later became known that Arthur, a few weeks after the wedding, made an entry in his diary, where he said: “It seems to me that she is a small child, I hate her!” Marilyn saw this recording and was shocked, after which a quarrel occurred. In her opinion, expressed later, Arthur "was a good writer, but not a very good husband."
16. Marilyn always wanted to have children, both with Joe and with Arthur she tried to have a child, but it did not work out for her - health problems, a number of abortions (13 according to unconfirmed reports) and excessive addiction to drugs and alcohol affected her. She became pregnant with Arthur during the filming of the film “Some Like It Hot” (“Some Like It Hot”), but the pregnancy turned out to be ectopic and ended in a miscarriage. From such a shock, Marilyn falls into a long depression, drinks a lot and continues to take medications chaotically. From an overdose he falls into a coma.
17. There are rumors about her early child, a son whom she allegedly gave birth to in her youth, and who was sent to an orphanage. the rumors, however, are unconfirmed. It is known that she surprisingly quickly found a common language with children and loved them. “Children, especially girls, should always be told that they are beautiful and that everyone loves them,” she said. “If I have a daughter, I will always tell her that she is beautiful, I will comb her hair until it shines, and I will not leave her alone for a minute.” The rumor about her son being left in an orphanage gave rise in the United States to such a phenomenon as “Marilyn Monroe’s children,” similar to “Lieutenant Schmidt’s children.” From time to time “Marilyn Monroe’s son” appeared, who, of course, demanded recognition and inheritance.
18. In 1955, Aristotle Onassis wanted to marry Marilyn to the Prince of Monaco to attract tourists to the resort of Monaco. Marilyn herself was not against it, but this was not destined to come true: the royal house announced other plans for the prince. On October 29, 1956, Marilyn, while in London, arrived at the Imperial Theater to meet Queen Elizabeth. A number of world famous actresses and actors were present at this meeting. But Elizabeth only approached Marilyn. The press commented: “Marilyn Monroe reached the peak of perfection, showed good manners and beauty, and this is how she conquered England.”
19. In 1961, Marilyn’s health deteriorated and it was no longer a secret to the public that she was using drugs. After a large number of negative reviews from critics and viewers about the last two films with her participation, as well as due to a divorce from Miller, she has a nervous breakdown and is placed in the Payne-Whiteney psychiatric clinic, where she is forcibly kept for some time in a cramped room, due to causing her to actually develop claustrophobia. This kind of problem is her generational curse. Her mother and grandmother were also in psychiatric institutions at various times.
20. On May 19, 1961, at Madison Square, Marilyn sang “Happy Birthday, Mr. President” to John F. Kennedy, whom she met before his presidency, in ’51. There were rumors about their affair, as well as about an affair with his brother Robert Kennedy. But there is no significant evidence of this (the famous photograph where Kennedy hugs Monroe is known to be a fake with two actors).
21. Soon Monroe suffered another drug overdose. Joe DiMaggio came to her rescue again. They decided to remarry and set the date for August 8, 1962, but on the evening of August 4, Marilyn was found lifeless in her home.
22. Marilyn Monroe died on the night of August 5, 1962 in Brentwood (California) at the age of 36 from a lethal dose of sleeping pills. There are five versions of the cause of her death: a murder committed by intelligence services on the orders of the Kennedy brothers to avoid publicity of their sexual relations; murder committed by the mafia; drug overdose; suicide; the tragic mistake of the actress's psychoanalyst, Ralph Greenson, who prescribed the patient to take chloral hydrate shortly after she took Nembutal. What the real reason was is still unknown.
23. There is a hypothesis that in her famous leather-bound diary, Marilyn documented the details of her intimate relationships with the Kennedy brothers and other lovers, in particular, she wrote down what they said in bed. Thus, the diary represented serious incriminating evidence. According to an eyewitness, Monroe's stylist, who accompanied her on trips, on the day of her death, the actress visited the house of Frank Sinatra, with whom she also had a short-term affair. There she was met by a mafioso who collaborated with the CIA, Sam Giancana. He convinced Monroe to give up the diary. But she did not agree, and she was eliminated, fearing blackmail or publicity. And the diary disappeared from her house without a trace.
24. When psychologists were asked to examine the room where Marilyn Monroe died, they were confused: could this bright, successful woman really live here: not a single painting or image on the walls, no flowers on the windows, no photographs in frames, nothing expressing coziness or comfort. Just a bed, a bedside table, a lamp and the essentials... A lot of medicine. However, as the same psychologists know: the favorite of many viewers suffered from character accentuation (constantly changing moods, from cloudlessly joyful to utopian sad).
25. Immediately after the actress’s death, the version of a drug overdose was widely discussed in the American press, causing the Werther effect, as a result of which hundreds of Americans followed her example. The suicide rate in America has increased by 12% (I don’t know how reliable this figure is).
26. As a child, in order to somehow compensate for the absence of her real parents, Norma Jeane came up with a fairy tale: she believed that her father was the then famous actor Clark Gable. She dreamed of meeting her “father” and often amused herself by trying on her little hands and feet to match the footprints left by celebrities on the Hollywood Walk of Fame. Subsequently she said: “I love handsome men! But there are very few of us among us... Can you name the name of a handsome man? Raj Kapoor, Clark Gable, Laurence Olivier and that’s it, perhaps!” Subsequently, her childhood dream came true - Gable starred with her in the film “The Misfits” (1960), based on the script by her husband Arthur Miller. As filming was wrapping up, Gable said, “Jesus Christ! I'm happy that this film is finally being completed. Monroe gave me a heart attack.” The next day, Clark Gable suffered a myocardial infarction and died 11 days later.
27. On the mirror in the bathroom, Marilyn loved to write her own edifying sayings with lipstick, some of which became popular: “Don’t expect more than you can achieve”, “Vanity kills”, “Don’t worry, but worry”... She also wrote poetry and was interested in classical literature, including Russian. One of her dreams was to play the role of Grushenka from “The Brothers Karamazov” by Dostoevsky. In his book “Women Who Changed the World,” Vitaly Wulf expresses the idea that no one knows the real Marilyn - we judge her only by gossip, from which she was never able to escape, like a butterfly from a cocoon. “Hollywood is a place where they will pay you a thousand dollars for a kiss and won’t give you a penny for your soul. I know this because I have rejected the first offer too often, and my soul is not for sale,” she said. With English poetess Edith Sitwell:
28. Marilyn Monroe is one of the most famous left-handers. Even on the BBC website, her name is among the famous people who wrote with their left hand. But the photographs clearly show that the actress writes and applies makeup with her right hand. According to another common myth, Marilyn had 6 toes. But again, this is not clear from the photographs.
29. Lady Gaga's songs - Government Hooker and Elton John's Candle in the Wind are dedicated to Marilyn Monroe. Marilyn Manson, whose real name was Brian Warner, based his stage name on Marilyn Monroe and the surname of cult murderer Charles Manson. The image of Marilyn Monroe is the most frequently reproduced and most imitated. It is difficult to find a popular actress, singer or fashion model who has not at some point been mowed under MM.
30. In 1999, Marilyn was voted the sexiest woman of the twentieth century in a poll by Playboy magazine, i.e. was named “Sex Symbol of the 20th Century” after 37! years after his death.
31. The dress in which Marilyn Monroe sang at President Kennedy's birthday became the most expensive lot of 1999, it was sold at auction for $1,265,500. And Marilyn’s wedding dress, which cost $250 in 1953, was bought by a private American collector in 1999, paying $33,500. The owner of Marilyn jeans worth $75,000 was Britney Spears. They were given to her by designer Tommy Hilfiger.
32. Despite depression and addictions, Marilyn always looked impeccable in public, but was often late. “It’s better to be late, but come in full uniform. Anyway, what I like is to take my time. Our time is too hectic. And beauty and perfection require time and leisure. I have one desire – to constantly strive for excellence.”
The reason for the rumors was a photo for which Monroe posed in a swimsuit. Looking at the photo, it seemed as if the blonde had an extra toe on her left foot. Evil tongues claimed: having become famous, the actress removed the “defect”. In fact, this is not true: in childhood photos, there are exactly five toes on the actress’s left foot. The origin of the myth was caused by either the poor shooting angle or the sand that stuck to the beauty’s leg.
Norma Jean Baker, as Monroe was called at birth, was not skinny and did not go on strict diets. But still, she never wore clothes of size 16 (or, if you follow the Russian system, 54), as was often said during her lifetime. The fashion editor of The Times newspaper dispelled the rumor when she had the chance to try on Marilyn's clothes. “Quite the opposite,” Sarah Buys wrote. “Although she was undoubtedly an appetizing girl, had ample breasts and wide hips, at the beginning of her career she was only size 8 (Russian 46) . Even during periods of greatest completeness, its size was no more than 10th (48th Russian) .”
It’s difficult to call this rumor true, if only because Monroe really really wanted children. As a young woman, during an operation to remove appendicitis, Marilyn placed a letter on her stomach for the surgeon. In it, the actress begged him not to harm her female organs. In addition, information about abortions was denied by Monroe's doctor Leon Krohn. It is reliably known that the actress suffered two miscarriages and one ectopic pregnancy. But she didn't have an abortion.
The actress herself never spoke about why Monroe loves to sway her hips so much. She ironically said that no one “taught” her to walk.
Evil tongues claimed that one of the actress’s legs was allegedly shorter than the other, and Monroe simply could not walk “normally.” This is not true: there is evidence that for the sake of a sexy gait, Marilyn... filed off her heel. According to secular journalist Jimmy Starr, this was what gave her gait an “unforgettable swing.”
According to gossip, Marilyn Monroe was the mistress of two Kennedys: the political brothers John and Robert. They said that in connection with this, the actress was even allowed access to secret US documents, and she managed to collect incriminating evidence on the American government! It sounds sensational, but none of Marilyn Monroe’s biographers could confirm these facts. According to them, Monroe could indeed have had a sexual relationship with John Kennedy, but with Robert they were just friends.
Marilyn had plastic surgery on her nose and chin, but she really had naturally large breasts. There is a version that the actress decided to entrust her bust to surgeons a few months before her death. However, in the photographs from the most recent photo shoot, Monroe's breasts look as natural as possible - there are no signs of silicone.
In fact, her only awards are the Golden Globe for her role in Some Like It Hot. Her creative path is a bit reminiscent of the professional fate of the first Hollywood platinum blonde, Jean Harlow, who was more of a sex symbol than an actress. Monroe was not given complex dramatic roles, and to film the famous scene “It’s Me, Darling” (all from the same comedy “Some Like It Hot”), according to colleagues, the actress needed as many as 60 takes - they say she had a hard time remembering the text. In her autobiography, Marilyn wrote:
A thin waist, lush breasts, voluminous hips, white hair - the fairy Tinkerbell from the cartoon "Peter Pan" really resembles Marilyn Monroe. Biographers of the actress have repeatedly noted this striking similarity! But there is no evidence that it was Monroe who posed for Disney artists. Animation experts call another actress, Margaret Carrie, the prototype of the sorceress.
Did you know that your feet contain 26 bones, 33 joints, over 100 tendons, muscles and ligaments, and as many as 250,000 sweat glands? It's incredible that so many anatomical elements fit into such a small area of the body, but our feet are designed to support our entire body. Our feet are also very susceptible to injury, ranging from calluses to more serious disorders such as diabetic neuropathy. Here are some interesting facts about feet.
1. There’s a reason baby feet are so cute.
These cute feet that you want to kiss are not for nothing so soft. Babies are born with a fat pad where the arch of an adult's foot is, giving the foot an attractive plumpness. In fact, the arch of the foot does not appear until the child is 2.5 years old. But a baby's soft little foot will become tougher as he ages. It is also normal for a baby's feet and legs to curl slightly inward due to the position in which the fetus arrives in the womb.
2. Polydactyly: when there are too many fingers
After the baby is born, the obstetrician checks 10 fingers and 10 toes. But sometimes surprises happen and extra fingers can be discovered. This condition is known as polydactyly and it occurs in 1-2 cases out of 1000. In 2010, there was a completely surprising case when a Chinese boy had 6 extra toes and 5 extra fingers removed. There were rumors that the famous actress Marilyn Monroe had 6 toes, but these rumors were recently denied.
3. Big foot = big manhood?
There are many myths regarding foot size, but perhaps the most popular is the myth that the larger the size of the foot, the larger the size of a man's penis. Several studies have refuted this claim, finding no connection between the two.
Also, if you think you know your foot size, you may be wrong, as a recent study found that about 35 percent of people underestimate at least half their foot size.
4. How do toenails grow?
Compared to fingernails, toenails grow much more slowly, at about 1mm per month, while fingernails grow on average 0.1mm per day. It will take about 5-6 months for a completely new nail to grow on your foot. How long can a toenail grow? The current record holder is Louise Hollis from California, USA. Her toenails are 15cm long and according to the Guinness Book of World Records, she has been growing her toenails since 1982. For obvious reasons, she only wears open-toed shoes.
Your toenails can also tell you a lot about your health, such as whether you suffer from anemia (spoon-shaped hollows) or poor circulation (lack of hair on your toes) or psoriasis (grooves and pits on the surface of the nail).
5. Feet and sex
Did you know that we use our feet when we flirt? A study conducted in the UK found that when a woman likes a man, she moves one leg back to a more open position. If she crosses her legs or sits with her legs tucked, then this is a sign that she is not interested. And although men do not express their interest through the position of their feet, they also send emotional signals through their feet. One study found that when a man is nervous, he moves his feet more, while a woman's feet remain motionless when she is nervous.
Many people consider feet to be a sexual part of the body, but for some people sexual interest becomes especially strong and develops into foot fetishism, when the foot becomes an object of sexual desire.
6. Walking barefoot: it's so natural!
There is nothing better than walking barefoot on the sand in summer. But for some people, going barefoot is a year-round way of life. Such organizations believe that wearing shoes is not only unnecessary, but also harms the health of the feet, leading to flat feet and deformities. Advocates of barefoot running argue that it strengthens the feet and reduces the risk of injury. However, for people with diabetes, walking barefoot can be dangerous because nerve damage makes it difficult for a person to feel if the foot has been injured.
7. What causes unpleasant foot odor?
It's no wonder that sometimes your feet smell bad. After all, there are about 250,000 sweat glands on the foot. Although sweat itself is odorless, bacteria often grow in socks and shoes, causing an unpleasant odor. Sweaty foot odor is more common if you wear shoes that don't breathe. If you take off your shoes, wash your feet and put on clean socks, there will be no smell.
