When a young man is drafted into the army, the question arises about ways to “deviate” from fulfilling his civic duty. You can find a lot of options, but the most popular is a health certificate.
This problem is relevant not only to conscripts, but also to people who suffer from this disease or have been ill. Find out the causes and stages. Most flat feet occur due to wearing the wrong shoes or foot injuries.
Many people have a question: do people with flat feet join the army? But there are a lot of answers on the Internet and they are all different, but it is better to focus on the legislation. In this article you will learn what degree of flat feet is not key for enlistment, methods for checking flat feet at the military registration and enlistment office and treatment.
Do they take into the army with flat feet?
Exemption from conscription due to foot deformity is rarely carried out, although such pathology is common among the population. More often, conscripts with flat feet are recruited into the army, and there are two reasons for this.
The first is soft requirements for the health of conscripts. To obtain a military ID, you must have a serious stage of the disease. The second reason is violations by doctors or improper preparation of a young man for a medical examination.
The answer to the question of whether people with flat feet will be accepted into the army in 2017 depends on the degree of development of the disease. To determine the degree, the angle of the foot socket, its height, the angles between the metatarsal bones and the angle of deviation of the first toe are measured. According to these indicators, there are four degrees of flat feet. The norm is considered to be arch angles of 125-130 degrees with a height of 39mm.
Flat feet are regulated by Article 68 of the Schedule of Diseases. Since January 1, 2014, the requirements for flat feet have been increased. Let's look at the article from the perspective of the presence of flat feet.
Point “b” includes longitudinal III degree or transverse III - IV degree flatfoot with severe pain, exostoses, contracture of the fingers and the presence of arthrosis in the joints of the midfoot;
Point “c” includes longitudinal flatfoot of the third degree without valgus position of the heel bone and the phenomena of deforming arthrosis in the joints of the middle foot;
Point “d” includes longitudinal or transverse flatfoot of the II degree. Paragraph “d” of this article is an invitation. Only points “b” and “c” are exempt from conscription.
Thus, to be exempt from conscription, it is necessary to have 3rd degree flatfoot: longitudinal 3rd degree flatfoot (or more); OR: transverse III - IV degree flatfoot with severe pain, exostoses, contracture of the fingers and the presence of arthrosis in the joints of the midfoot;
If a conscript’s indicators meet the above requirements, then such a conscript is subject to exemption from conscription (fitness category “B” - limited fit), enlisted in the reserves, and given a military ID. With flat feet of the 2nd degree - a conscript is subject to conscription, fitness category B-3.
Flatfoot degree I: angle of the longitudinal internal plantar arch 131 - 140 degrees;
II degree flatfoot: angle of the longitudinal internal arch 141 - 155 degrees;
III degree flatfoot: the angle of the longitudinal internal arch is more than 155 degrees.
A lot also depends on how you take the photo. Article 68 of the Schedule of Diseases states the following, I quote:
Longitudinal flatfoot and hammertoe deformity are assessed using radiographs taken in the lateral projection in a standing position with full static load on the test foot.
It is impossible to say for sure whether people with flat feet are recruited into the army. The load that falls on the foot and its arches when running, jumping and many other tests that conscripts face is strictly contraindicated for flat feet of any degree. After all, serious changes can occur in both the joints and the spine over the course of a year.
There is an opinion in the army that if the commission gave the go-ahead and the conscript was nevertheless sent to the army, it means he is healthy. And he is not entitled to any favors. And in just a year, a conscript can become a person with disabilities, who will then spend half his life on treatment and will not be completely healthy.
When recruiting young people with flat feet into the Armed Forces, it is necessary to weigh all the risks and make the right and proper decision. Almost throughout the entire territory of the former USSR, the same laws regarding conscription into the army apply, in which all medical issues related to dysfunction of the musculoskeletal system are clearly and clearly stated.
In all these documents, it is customary to divide flat feet into 4 degrees, each with its own approach and definition. They are named after the first four letters of the alphabet: A, B, C, and D, with group A being the most difficult and group D being the easiest.
Only a council of doctors from the medical commission can determine the presence of one degree or another of flat feet in a particular conscript. The young man undergoes a visual examination, then, if the disease is visually detected, it is necessary to determine its degree. For this purpose, an x-ray of the foot and a computed tomography are performed.
According to the analysis results obtained, conclusions are drawn as to what degree of flat feet the violations of a particular conscript correspond to:
This decision depends on a number of factors: the troops in which the conscript will serve, the place of service, the conscript’s age and the degree of damage to the muscles and ligaments of the arches of the feet. If doctors are satisfied with the degree of flat feet of a particular conscript, then he is fit for military service and goes into the army. If his injuries are serious enough, then he is not accepted into the army and is given a military ID with the note “fit for military service in wartime.”
Article 68 of 2015 of the Ministry of Internal Affairs clearly prescribes diseases that interfere with military service. Thus, a patient with arthrosis needs to visit a specialist to determine the specific degree of the disease and suitability for service.
There are quite often problems with suitability for arthrosis of the second degree. Since there is no specific regulated division between the first and second degrees of the disease in the article of the Ministry of Internal Affairs. Most often, a conscript with such a diagnosis is marked “fit”, but is given a more lenient category. At the same time, refusal to perform military service will also be made on legal grounds.
Men with first-degree arthrosis will have to join the army. However, at the military registration and enlistment office, the doctor will definitely assign the conscript a fitness category “B”. In other words, a man is not called up for military service in peacetime, but in the documentation he is listed as a reserve personnel.
List of reasons for removal from the army approved in Article No. 68 of the Ministry of Internal Affairs in 2015:
During martial law, fitness category “B” is mobilized, thanks to which units of the second stage are staffed. Conducting military service is an indispensable duty of every responsible man of any state.
However, in the case of chronic diseases, even, at first glance, not serious, the army can cause irreparable harm to a person’s health. That is why it is necessary to seek help and advice from a specialist at the first symptoms. Having received the final diagnosis and checking it with the provisions in the article of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, the conscript will know in advance whether he will be accepted into the army with flat feet or osteoarthritis.
Deformation of the arch of the foot is called flat feet. This is a change in which the shock-absorbing properties of the foot are reduced or completely absent, as a result of which the load on the foot is unevenly distributed. With advanced flat feet, the patient begins to experience pain not only in his legs, but also in his knee and hip joints, and subsequently in his spine.
Both arches of the foot (longitudinal and transverse) with flat feet lose their functions, the load shifts towards the heel and toes, and the foot becomes flat. In this case, the muscles and ligaments of the foot that connect both arches become weak and can be injured at any time.
In this case, the entire load when walking goes to the spine and joints of the lower extremities, hence the pain, which only intensifies over time. Also, the blood supply to the lower extremities is disrupted due to improperly distributed load, and varicose veins (thrombophlebitis) may occur.
People of different ages and professions suffer from flat feet when a person sits a lot or walks a lot and quickly. Flat feet can be acquired or congenital. In any case, violation of the correct position of the arch of the foot requires careful attention and long-term treatment.
An adult's foot should normally rest on three main points - the heel bone and two metatarsal bones on the first and fifth toes. Connecting with each other, these points form arches that help maintain balance and act as a shock absorber when walking.
But sometimes deformation occurs in which the arches become flatter and lower. If the changes affect the transverse arch, then the bones of the fingers fan out, the largest of them deviates outward, and the length of the foot decreases. As a result, transverse flatfoot appears.
Longitudinal deformation is characterized by flattening of the corresponding arch. In this case, the length of the foot increases, and the sole is completely in contact with the floor. Quite often, these two types of deformation can occur simultaneously.
In any case, the foot loses its shock-absorbing function, and the entire load is transferred to the joints of the legs. And since they are not designed for such work, as a result a person begins to feel pain in the legs and back. He also develops incorrect posture and arthrosis and scoliosis may occur.
As you might have already guessed, if the second degree of flat feet is not a contraindication for service, then the first degree will not create any interference either. The document states this: flat feet of the first degree does not interfere with service in a military unit (for more details, see the category of fitness for military service).
The list of illnesses was compiled so that it included diagnoses that actually interfere with service or could become complicated in the process and negatively affect the soldier’s health.
Accordingly, it should not be so that a young man runs, plays football, plays sports, but his card says “flat feet”, and in the end he is given a military ID card due to his health. It is from these considerations that this regulatory document was drawn up. Thus, if a conscript does not experience pain when walking, you should not hope for an “easy” release from the army due to flat feet.
The first degree of flat feet does not give the right to receive a military ID for health reasons. The list of illnesses indicates that this disease does not interfere with service in the Russian Armed Forces.
The list of illnesses includes those diseases that actually interfere with service and can negatively affect the health of the conscript. With level 1 flat feet, a person does not experience pain, which is why people with such flat feet are recruited into the army. In conclusion, we can say: in order to be exempt from military service due to flat feet, you need to have grade 3 of this disease.
Citizens who have:
Longitudinal or transverse flatfoot of the 2nd degree - fitness category “B”, suitable with restrictions. Probably the most interesting part of the Schedule of Diseases for many conscripts, because this diagnosis is more widespread than the third degree of this disease. And indeed, before, people with level 2 flat feet were not accepted into the army.
However, amendments to some laws and regulations, in particular the Schedule of Diseases, adopted 2 years ago, radically changed the situation. The current version of the document clearly states that conscripts with these diagnoses will be considered fit for military service with only minor restrictions.
In other words, such a young man will not be accepted into the elite troops, where ideal health is required, but they will be accepted into ordinary military units (more than 80%) without any problems. The times when the answer to the question “whether people with level 2 flat feet are accepted into the army” was negative are long gone. Of course, amendments may be made to the law, but no such amendments are planned for the coming year.
Second degree flatfoot is the most common among young people. Until 2014, with 2nd degree, a conscript was assigned category “B” and did not have the right to serve. After amendments to the law, people with 2nd degree flat feet are taken into the army.
The disease schedule states that conscripts with such diagnoses will be considered fit for military service with minor restrictions. Due to such a disease, they will not accept service only in elite troops, but they will send you to serve in ordinary troops (they will assign fitness category “B”). Now the answer to the question “whether people with level 2 flat feet are accepted into the army” will always be positive.
This should occur regardless of the degree of pain caused by this disease; pain can be pronounced or insignificant, but the presence of pain is an important factor for classification under this article.
The simultaneous presence of a diagnosis of “deforming arthrosis” of the joints of the foot is not mandatory for exemption under Article 68, but if such a diagnosis is present simultaneously with the third degree, flat feet will be clearly classified in category “B”, so in general we can say that experts do not have The question is whether people with 3rd degree flat feet are accepted into the army.
The document clearly states that with flat feet of the 3rd degree, in particular longitudinal, as well as transverse of the 3rd or 4th degree, the conscript should be given category “B” and issued a military health card.
A conscript with flat feet of the 3rd degree must be given category “B” and issued a military ID. The same applies to transverse flatfoot of degree 3 or 4, as well as longitudinal one. 3rd degree flatfoot, as a rule, is expressed by pain, exostoses, contracture of the fingers and the presence of arthrosis in the joints of the midfoot.
The presence of a diagnosis of “deforming arthrosis” of the foot joints is not mandatory for exemption under Article 68 of the schedule of diseases, but if such a diagnosis is present simultaneously with degree 3, flat feet will be clearly classified in category “B”. To the question “whether people with level 3 flat feet are accepted into the army”, a clear answer can be given “no”.
Not every parent with newborn sons thinks about the need to perform plantography and x-rays on the child in advance and identify the degrees of flat feet, arthrosis and scoliosis for military service.
As it turns out, a boy needs to treat such a foot pathology from a very early age, since legislators in leading countries - Russia, Ukraine and Belarus - annually change and tighten the requirements for the health of conscripts. According to the requirements, those who were previously given an exemption from conscription and enrolled in the reserves are not exempt from conscription.
But in a small child, recognizing the presence of flat feet is not so easy. The younger the child, the more his foot prints will resemble 1-2 tbsp. flat feet. In preschool age, it is better to conduct an examination directly with an orthopedic doctor. He will be able to more accurately diagnose and prescribe treatment.
From the very first steps of a child, you need to pay attention to the signs of flat feet, as well as scoliosis:
Closer to conscription age, parents and teenagers themselves are concerned about the question of whether they are recruited into the army with 3rd degree flat feet, complete with arthrosis, and 2nd degree scoliosis. In their legislative documents as of January 1, 2014, the leading countries: Russia, Ukraine and Belarus were unanimous on issues relating to 1-3 degrees of flat feet and the conscription of boys into the army.
The article on foot deformities states that only 3-4 tbsp. flat feet are unavoidable. Category B-3 is replenished with diseases of the 2nd degree: deforming arthrosis and flat feet.
When conscripts undergo a medical examination, doctors at military registration and enlistment offices do not detect diseases, and guys with scoliosis, arthrosis and flat feet are not sent to clinics for examination in order to have grounds to release them and not conscript them into the army.
For guys with flat feet and varying degrees of complexity of the disease, putting a lot of stress on their legs, walking and running a lot is contraindicated. However, neither legislators nor the army take these contraindications into account. Therefore, the ranks of the army are replenished with stooped conscripts with 2nd degree scoliosis without dysfunction, which requires treatment in adolescence, dystrophy and encephalopathy, and not only with 1st and 2nd degree flat feet and arthrosis.
The medical commission only conducts an examination, but does not make a diagnosis. Before coming to the military registration and enlistment office, conscripts must be examined by doctors for a year and have with them all the necessary certificates and a package of documents, which will provide the basis for the military registration and enlistment office to conduct a more thorough examination of diseases: arthrosis, flat feet and scoliosis.
All residents of the Russian Federation, without exception, know or have heard that young people with flat feet are unfit to serve in the army. How things stand with this in 2017, whether people with flat feet are now being recruited into the army, where all these rumors came from, let’s look into it in detail.
Starting from kindergarten, all children are regularly tested for flat feet, because this disease can cause serious complications in the future and should be detected as early as possible in order to take corrective treatment measures while the body is still in the growth stage.
At a young age, this disease is easily corrected, does not affect the quality of life, and with timely intervention disappears by the age of 16-18 years. Also, since the 90s, there has been an urban legend in Russia that people with flat feet are not allowed into the army. This myth is very vague, does not include clarifications about the degree of the disease, and so on.
As a rule, many children’s test results are not ideal, so the information that “I have some degree of flat feet” remains in the memory of almost all boys. However, childhood flatfoot is far from the same as flatfoot in an adult.
Despite this, 95% of young people in high school have an unconditional confidence in their heads that their childhood flat feet, diagnosed 10 years ago, will provide them with a military ID in health.
Why is this happening? Here it is necessary to turn to the primary source, namely to the regulatory documents, the main one in this matter is the 2017 Schedule of Diseases.
But already in the 10th grade of school, when young men register for military service at the military commissariat, this confidence dissipates. This is because the surgeon categorizes the future conscript as “fit,” which means “absolutely healthy.”
This document includes all diseases that are not accepted into the army, the degree of disease, the methodology and procedure for confirmation, including flat feet of the first, second, third degree.
In this case, we are interested in Article 68 of this document. It states that even with “minor impairments of function” caused by this disease, the conscript will receive exemption from the army. But not everything is so simple, let's look at the commentary to article 68 and figure out what degree of flat feet people are not allowed into the army?
When undergoing a medical examination, be sure to take with you medical documents confirming the diagnosis. Documents must have the seal of a state medical institution. Doctors at the military registration and enlistment office may ignore certificates and photographs from private clinics. After reviewing the medical documents, doctors send young people for free additional examination.
Diagnosis of the disease includes the following research methods:
The most accurate method is radiography. With its help, you can determine whether flat feet are burdened with arthrosis and what its degree is. The methods can be used simultaneously. But in order to pass the commission, it is necessary to provide x-rays with a medical description to the military registration and enlistment office.
To confirm all degrees of the disease, along with concomitant pathologies, the conscript is sent for an x-ray and a photograph of the feet on both legs (standing) is taken in a side and straight view.
Next, the radiograph is studied and the pathology of the foot is classified, assigned to a certain degree of deformity and group. Only an orthopedic surgeon can determine the degree of pathology. The military commissar must determine, in accordance with the doctor's diagnosis, the level of suitability of the conscript for the army.
Longitudinal flatfoot includes:
The likelihood of being called up for service is determined based on the degree of flatfoot the conscript has. They are not accepted into the army if the pathology is not significantly expressed. Thus, flat feet of the 1st degree in the army will not affect service, so the conscript will receive fitness category “A” and can be sent to the elite troops.
With level 2 flat feet, the army cannot be avoided either. According to the Schedule of Diseases, conscripts with level 2 flat feet are accepted into the army in the “B-3” category. People with level 3 flat feet are not allowed into the army.
According to the Schedule of Diseases, grades 3 and 4 flat feet and the army are recognized by doctors as incompatible. Both cases correspond to category “B” - limited use. There is no deferment from the army for flat feet.
Sometimes doctors at the military medical commission ask to show your feet for visual inspection. At the same time, they ask you to stand with your back to the wall, leaning on it. In this case, the load disappears, and it seems that there is no flatfoot as such. This procedure is not diagnostic.
Therefore, do not fall for such tricks, but insist that you have all the necessary documents from qualified orthopedic specialists. If you are unable to correlate your degree of flatfoot with a possible fitness category, write to me or my colleagues, we will help you.
Now the form has been so improved that even with flat feet a young man may not experience discomfort. Instead of tarpaulin boots there are now ankle boots. To prevent flat feet from bothering you in the army, you can use special orthopedic insoles.
They provide good support to the longitudinal and transverse arch of the foot, relieving some of the load from it. Thanks to this, you can avoid complications, ease the load on the joints and reduce pain.
Insoles should be selected in accordance with age, body type and type of upcoming load. It is advisable to wear them daily, even after finishing military service, in order to prevent complications. The boots must be in good condition, then you can wear them with insoles. It is not allowed for the sole to be worn down, otherwise the insoles will only cause harm.
Another treatment method is self-massage before bed. This helps improve blood circulation and restore normal functionality. In addition, calming movements will be a good way to improve sleep.
Some exercises will help cure grade 1 flat feet:
In the event that level 2 flat feet and the army become incompatible due to an exacerbation, you must contact the medical unit. You may need to spend some time in hospital to monitor the condition of your feet.
If the pain increases and fatigue increases, the conscript should be discharged from the army and referred to an orthopedist for treatment. It is impossible to completely get rid of flat feet; you can only maintain the condition. Sometimes surgery is required.
The army classifies the disease into 4 degrees, according to which it assigns conscripts to groups. Group “A” includes flat feet with the presence of serious functional impairments. The conscript is included in category “D” and due to his unfitness for service, he will not be drafted into the army.
The diagnosis includes such foot deformities as complete, cauda equina, calcaneal and varus, equinovarus and plano-valgus due to trauma or diseases that prevent the use of military shoes for wearing.
Group “B” includes conscripts from the 3rd-4th grade. transverse or 3rd art. longitudinal flatfoot with moderate functional impairment: exostoses (spike-like benign bone and cartilaginous formations on the surface of the bone), severe pain, arthrosis in the center of the foot and contractures of the fingers.
The diagnosis includes the above-described degrees of flat feet. Such conscripts are classified as category “B” and sent to the reserve with a military ID as being of limited fitness (unfit in peacetime). During hostilities, they are drafted into the army.
With arthrosis of the center of the foot, the tissues of the cartilages that connect the joints become inflamed and destroyed, this leads to pain, contractures of the fingers, exostoses against the background of longitudinal or transverse flatfoot of the 3rd degree. Therefore, conscripts are not taken into the army.
Group “B” also includes guys with flat feet if there is a slight functional impairment of the legs (ankles). Namely: there are no symptoms of arthrosis (deformation of the bone joints of the center of the foot) and valgus position of the heel bone with longitudinal flatfoot of 2-3 degrees. In addition to grade 2 flat feet, the diagnosis includes grade 2. arthrosis and scoliosis. Such conscripts are also classified as category “B” and are not accepted into the army in peacetime.
Group “G” includes conscripts with transverse or longitudinal flat feet of the 2nd degree, which is objectively confirmed visually and by photograph. They will be in the “B-3” category; they will be drafted into the army, but not into all branches of the military. The diagnosis includes osteoarthritis, arthrosis, deforming arthrosis of the 1st stage. without exostosis and contracture of the fingers at 1-2 tbsp. flat feet.
As for the second degree of scoliosis, with the absence of functional impairments, conscripts have been accepted into the army since 2013, which is permitted by the Regulations on Military Medical Examination, approved by the regulations of the Russian government.
Many parents are against their sons being drafted into the army. Also, the conscript male generation is looking for different ways to evade service. Those who enroll in studies, which they do not leave for years, those who are ready to pay off. But the good news is that there are still those who want to fulfill their civic duty.
The answer to the question of which flat feet are not accepted into the army depends not only on the degree of pathology, but also on concomitant diseases. Often foot deformation is accompanied by the development of arthrosis with the destruction of cartilage tissue.

You put on glasses, and then you can’t take them off - it may be more advisable to TRAIN your feet part of the time by walking without instep supports or with other instep supports. For prevention, it is very important to walk barefoot, but not on the floor, not on asphalt, but on uneven surfaces (pebbles, cones , grass)?

?Group “B” involves minor dysfunctions of the foot, which are accompanied by moderate pain. Such changes allow military-style shoes to be worn by adapting them in a certain way. In this case, the conscript is assigned the same fitness category “B”. He will only be called up in wartime.?
Depending on the angle of the arch of the foot, I distinguish several types of flat feet. There are 3 degrees in total:?

?The same applies to lowering the arch of the foot of the 3rd degree. Flat feet and physical activity are incompatible. In the army, sports cannot be avoided. This is the main reason why people with such a violation may not be accepted into a military school.?
?Group “G” is characterized by the presence of data on flatness, but without dysfunction. In this case, the conscript is assigned the fitness category “B-3”. He will be recruited into the armed forces. However, restrictions may apply to certain groups of troops.?
?In the first case, the disease is more of a cosmetic defect and occurs with virtually no symptoms. One of its manifestations may be a feeling of fatigue in the legs and their swelling after significant exercise. A person may also feel pain if pressure is applied to the foot.?

Who hasn’t heard that people with flat feet are not accepted into the army? But how true are these words? Often young people do not know whether those with flat feet are accepted into the army. Although all the nuances are spelled out in Art. 68 “Schedules of Diseases”, to get an accurate answer, you need to figure out what kind of illness it is and how severe its course is.
Flat feet is a disease in which the foot is deformed with a drooping arch. With this disease, the foot stops performing its spring and shock-absorbing functions. In its normal state, it has two arches: longitudinal and transverse. The longitudinal one is located along the inner edge of the foot, and the transverse one is located under the base of the toes.
The arch of the foot acts as a shock absorber when walking and also keeps the human body in balance. If the elasticity of the ligaments and muscles in a given area of the leg is impaired, they cease to function properly. In this case, the foot loses its shape, sags, becomes flat and ceases to perform spring functions. In this case, the question “whether people with flat feet are accepted into the army” can be answered in the negative.
Subsequently, the load that should have fallen on the feet is distributed between the spine and legs. Since they cannot withstand the additional load, this leads to disruption of the functioning of these organs.
In medical practice, there are several types of flat feet. By its nature, foot distortion can be:
Let's look at each of them in more detail.
1. Longitudinal flatfoot. Are they recruited into the army with this type of illness? This issue is worth looking into in more detail. With this form of pathology, the foot comes into contact with the floor with almost its entire surface, without forming a characteristic bend on the inside. At the same time, its length increases. If you have this type of flatfoot, wearing regular shoes is contraindicated.
2. Transverse flatfoot. With this type of disease, the forefoot is widened and flattened. The foot is supported on the metatarsal bones, which produces additional load on the 2nd and 4th heads of the metatarsal bones and removes the load from the big toe.
3. Combined flatfoot. This type of disease is less common than the first two and is characterized by the fact that the longitudinal and transverse arches are flattened simultaneously.
In medicine, there are three degrees of flat feet. If there is a longitudinal form, then the degree of the disease depends on the magnitude of the foot deformity, and if it is transverse, then on the degree of curvature of the first toe. Upon reaching a certain age, young men have a question: “Are people with flat feet allowed into the army?” To answer it, it is necessary to determine the degree of the disease.
Flat feet as a disease has 3 degrees of progression. For greater clarity and better perception, we decided to place the material in a table.
The result is severe pain that is constantly localized in the lower legs, knees, hips and lower back. On top of everything else, headaches, decreased activity, and loss of strength are observed.
The question “whether people with flat feet are accepted into the army” worries not only conscripts suffering from this disease, but also their parents. Indeed, at the last stage of the disease, pain is felt when walking, and wearing ordinary shoes is not recommended by doctors. So, with flat feet of 1st and 2nd degree, a conscript is fit for military service. When this disease of a longitudinal or transverse type of 3 or 4 degrees with characteristic deviations in health is diagnosed, the conscript is exempt from conscription. At the same time, he is enlisted in the reserves with a note stating that he is “partially fit” and is given a military ID. If a conscript is found to have level 2 flat feet, then he is assigned category B-3 fitness - fit for non-combatant service. As a rule, this is service as a cook, janitor or builder.
Flat feet can develop in anyone, regardless of age. Children can have a congenital disease, and many adults acquire this disease.
Flat feet can develop under the influence of several factors:
More often, people whose professions involve standing for long periods of time - salespeople, teachers and others - are susceptible to the disease. But there can also be congenital flatfoot of the 1st degree. “Will they be accepted into the army with such a diagnosis?” - a question immediately arises among young men and their parents. First, you should undergo a full examination to establish an accurate diagnosis, and then discuss the prospects with a specialist.
Diagnosing flat feet includes listening to complaints, examining the external condition of the foot and palpating it. The diagnosis is clarified using an x-ray. Using an x-ray, the doctor determines the type and stage of the disease. So, the question of whether people with grade 3 flat feet are accepted into the army can be answered in the negative, having in hand photographs of the feet and a report from an orthopedist. There is also a simple way to determine whether a conscript has a disease. We are talking about the plantogram method. To do this, the sole of the foot is painted with harmless paint, after which the foot print is placed on a sheet of paper. By analyzing the trace, you can judge the presence and degree of the disease and, accordingly, decide whether someone with flat feet will be accepted into the army.
By visual inspection, it is easy to diagnose transverse flatfoot, because with it the big toe bends towards the outer part of the foot and is placed on top of the second.
The main symptoms of flat feet are:
Such symptoms may indicate the presence of other ailments, but if you have similar symptoms, you should still consult an orthopedist.
Often, flat feet in humans are chronic. However, it is still necessary to take measures to treat the disease. Usually these are various physical procedures, medicinal ointments and creams that relieve pain symptoms. Do not forget about the severity of such a disease as flat feet of the 3rd degree. Are they allowed into the army with this diagnosis? Every orthopedist will answer this question in the negative.
Depending on the type and degree of flatfoot, the following are prescribed:
When diagnosing flat feet of the first degree, it is necessary to reconsider your lifestyle. Eat a balanced diet and give up bad habits. Engage in daily exercise as recommended by your doctor.
You should visit sanatorium-resort areas to treat flat feet with mud and mineral waters.
If manual therapy does not bring the desired effect, then all that remains is to resort to surgery.
Undoubtedly, the main method of stopping the progression of flat feet is to wear orthopedic shoes on a regular basis.
Since complete elimination of flat feet is almost impossible, it is easier to take preventive measures. To do this, follow some recommendations:
A set of exercises is developed individually in each case by an orthopedic surgeon. It takes into account the stage of the disease, type, age of the patient and his complaints. These actions will be effective mainly in the presence of the disease at stage 1. Level 2 flat feet can be treated, although with difficulty. Whether someone with such a diagnosis will be accepted into the army is decided at the military registration and enlistment office based on the medical documents provided.
