Specialized literature and various pharmaceutical advertisements colorfully describe drugs that supposedly cure arthrosis. However, complete healing is still unlikely. Today, rational drug therapy can reduce pain, slow down inflammation, restore joint function and, if possible, activate metabolic processes. Let's consider the main groups of medications used to treat arthrosis: analgesics (painkillers), anti-inflammatory drugs and long-acting drugs. The first two groups are used for severe manifestations of clinical symptoms: pain and inflammation of the joint. In recent years, a group of drugs that affect metabolic processes in the joint, called “anti-arthrosis” or “chondroprotectors,” have been actively developed.
You should take these drugs seriously, take into account possible side effects, and carefully study the recommendations for their use.
These include drugs from the paracetamol group. They have various single and daily dosages (read the accompanying leaflets carefully) and are usually easily tolerated. Particular caution should be exercised in the use of these drugs in patients with hepatic and renal insufficiency. Paracetamol is considered the drug of first choice, which does not exclude the possibility of using other painkillers.
The prescription of this group of medications is due to the active phase of arthrosis with the presence of pain, effusion and swelling of the joint caused by inflammation of the synovial membrane. Nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drugs also have an analgesic effect, and they are actively prescribed in the treatment of arthrosis, despite a number of side effects. Their advantage is the possibility of use in the form of tablets and suppositories. Among the well-known drugs in this group: acetylsalicylic acid (aspirin), diclofenac, ibuprofen, naproxen, indomethacin and others. When prescribed, inflammation, pain and swelling are reduced, and joint function is improved. The single and daily dose of drugs is different. The effect of these remedies lasts from several hours to a day, and the intensity of complaints clearly decreases. They are usually taken irregularly, but in the case of “active” arthrosis they are irreplaceable. Experienced patients regulate their intake independently. For example, before going to a theater or concert, where you will need to be in a forced position for some time, you can take 50-75 mg of ibuprofen.
As a disadvantage of these drugs, one can note the irritating effect on the gastric mucosa, which manifests itself as complaints in 5-10% of patients. Most often it depends on the dose of the medicine. Rarely, allergic manifestations of the kidneys, liver and blood are possible. Therefore, these medications should be taken after meals. If the drug did not cause any discomfort in the stomach during the initial urgent use, it can be used in the future. We should not forget that in older people the risk of gastric bleeding and even perforation (perforation) of the stomach remains high. The risk of complications increases with peptic ulcer disease, as well as when these drugs are combined with glucocorticoids and anticoagulants.
The degree of risk of these drugs has been experimentally established (in ascending order): ibuprofen - meloxicam - diclofenac - naproxen - indomethacin. Considering that most patients suffering from arthrosis have crossed the 60-year age threshold, doctors prescribe a blood test to check kidney function before prescribing drug treatment. During long-term treatment, liver function is also monitored.
For pain associated with short-term stress on the affected joint, short-acting drugs are preferable. Medicines with a duration of action of more than a day can be recommended only to patients with prolonged pain and limited life opportunities. If you have severe joint pain and are unable to visit a doctor, you can take 1-2 aspirin tablets on your own. But in no case should you take more than 6 tablets per day without medical advice. Experts note that these medications are incompatible with alcoholic beverages.
Do not change the dosage of the drug recommended by your doctor. If you experience stomach pain or dark stools, stop taking the drug immediately and tell your doctor. It is not advisable to use drugs in this group as injections due to serious complications.
For drug treatment of arthrosis, accompanied by inflammation, pain and effusion, hormonal drugs - glucocorticoids - are used. It is more advisable to inject them directly into the joint. This provides the opportunity to remove exudate. The usual dose is 10-40 mg of this drug in combination with a local anesthetic. The positive effect is especially pronounced in the acute stage of the disease. Such injections can relieve you of pain for a long time. With one-time use, side effects are very rare. With long-term administration of corticosteroids, changes in the skin of the abdomen and thighs in the form of specific stripes, swelling are possible; necrotic changes in the joint occur less frequently. There is a natural risk of infection during joint puncture.
An absolute contraindication for injection into a joint is local inflammation of the skin, purulent infection of the joint, and fever of unknown etiology. In diabetes mellitus, the use of corticosteroids is undesirable due to a decrease in the body's protective properties.
Drugs that affect metabolic processes in the joint
There are no drugs yet that can stop the progression of arthrosis. However, new drugs are now being actively developed - chondroprotectors, that is, joint protectors that contain the main components of cartilage tissue. In the early stages of arthrosis, they can slow down the development of the disease. Another group of these drugs are high-viscosity gels, which are injected into the joint cavity. They serve as an additional shock absorber (like a layer) and nourish the cartilage with useful substances. Their effect lasts about six months, then the treatment has to be repeated. The best result is achieved when post-traumatic defects of young organisms are healed.
When the disease has progressed and tissues are severely damaged, such therapy only has a supportive effect. Sometimes drugs injected into the joint are called “artificial joint fluid.” One of these remedies is obtained from the comb of a rooster.
Long-acting drugs
In world practice they are called SADOA (slow acting drugs in osteoarthritis - slow-acting drugs for the treatment of osteoarthritis). They reduce inflammation, but, unlike the previously described anti-inflammatory drugs, they act slowly and do not have significant side effects. The most famous are hyaluronic acid and glucosamine.
It is present in cartilage tissue and synovial fluid, increases its viscosity, thereby improving lubrication and metabolic processes in the elements of the joint, and performs a protective function. Scientists believe that hyaluronic acid has an anti-inflammatory and analgesic effect. The drug is used in the form of intra-articular injections, but unlike corticosteroids it has a lasting effect. Most often prescribed for the treatment of arthrosis of the knee joint. This method can be used at any stage of the disease, especially in cases where the above groups of drugs are not effective, are poorly tolerated or cause complications. Adverse inflammatory reactions, possible in 10% of cases, are eliminated with the help of other medications. To eliminate such complications, purified drugs are created. If there is an effusion, it is first removed by puncture, a corticosteroid drug is administered, the joint is kept at rest, and cold is provided. After 2–3 days, this drug can be administered. Typically, the course of treatment consists of 3-5 injections every 7-10 days. You can repeat the course after 6 months - 1 year.
Scientists have long been debating the possibility of using a number of well-known drugs to protect and restore cartilage tissue. Arteparon and Arumalon are currently prohibited for use in Europe. And the drug Dona-200 (glucosamine sulfate) is approved for sale and is actively advertised. This substance is found in chitin-containing scales of marine animals, is taken in tablet form and is usually well tolerated.
Other medications
In recent years, there has been an active search for new possibilities for the treatment of arthrosis. Molecular biological research into the anti-inflammatory, analgesic and other effects of anticytokines allows us to hope that they will be able to be used for the basic treatment of arthrosis. However, there is still a lot of unknowns on this issue.
With an active inflammatory process in the joints, the use of enzyme preparations . They speed up the process of treating inflammation, regulate the immune system, and eliminate side effects.
Vitamins, minerals, microelements
There is no need to prove that joints, like all tissues and organs, need adequate nutrition. Swedish scientists have concluded that a Mediterranean diet with an abundance of vegetables, fruits, fish and limited meat and dairy products is especially suitable for normal joint function. They consider olive oil, which contains a lot of vitamin E, to be especially useful. If there is a deficiency of this vitamin, it is prescribed an additional daily dose of 400-800 mg. You can use fish oil capsules for the same purpose. With an active inflammatory process in the joints, it is taken for 2-3 weeks.
The condition of cartilage tissue and the metabolism in it largely depends on glucosamine and chondroitin, the production of which is promoted by vitamin C and manganese. It is possible to prescribe chondroitin in doses recommended by your doctor. A number of scientists recommend mummy for the treatment of arthrosis: 4 g mummy for 10 days, break 5 days. After 3-4 courses a break of 4 months is required. Full treatment with interruptions can last up to 2 years.
Rubbing various so-called antirheumatic ointments and gels into the skin is very popular. Most often, well-known anti-inflammatory drugs such as diclofenac (Voltaren) are used. It is useful to add heparin ointment. There is also a large selection of various oils and animal fats, as well as plant extracts: arnica, rosemary, menthol, eucalyptus, camphor, etc. Considering the irritating effect of the ointment, rub it in with gloves, and after the procedure, be sure to wash your hands with soap and a brush, avoid contact with the product in the eyes.
After arthrosis is diagnosed, the doctor prescribes a treatment regimen. Without drug therapy, it is impossible to achieve long-term remission and reduce the symptoms of the disease. Let's look at the most effective medications for joint arthrosis.
Treatment of arthrosis with drugs is aimed at reducing the manifestation of unpleasant symptoms. In most cases, it is not possible to cure the pathology completely. Cure is possible only in the first stages of the pathology and with timely initiation of therapy.
The group of drugs used for arthrosis is the same for most patients. To reduce the likelihood of side effects, you should take medications only after a doctor's prescription. Do not exceed the permissible dosages or replace prescribed drugs with similar compositions.
Some medications only work if used over a long period of time, so treatment should be continued for as long as your doctor recommends.
Drugs for the treatment of arthrosis usually belong to the following groups:
Any injections or tablets for joint arthrosis have their own indications, contraindications and features of use. To ensure that the use of drugs does not cause harm to the body, it is worth considering the rules for using these medications.
The common belief that NSAIDs and analgesics are the same thing is wrong. Non-steroidal drugs are a type of pain-relieving drug. Painkillers are intended to relieve acute pain.
These medications are intended to reduce symptoms and not to treat arthrosis. The most common representative of this group is Analgin.
This drug is based on the active ingredient - metamizole sodium. It relieves pain, reduces temperature and reduces inflammation. Effective regardless of the cause of discomfort.
It is recommended to use it infrequently, as the drug can cause changes in the composition of the blood. Available in tablets and as a solution for injection. It has a relaxing effect on smooth muscles, causing pain to disappear.
Tempalgin is a drug based on analgin and triacetonamine-4-toluenesulfonate. The second component enhances the analgesic effect of the antispasmodic, and the drug becomes more effective.
Treatment with medications for arthrosis must necessarily include the use of chondroprotectors. These drugs have a beneficial effect on cartilage tissue. Its regeneration processes are launched and the joint is restored.
Although chondroprotectors are prescribed for any stage of arthrosis, if such therapy is started after the first signs of the disease appear, the joint can be completely restored. To achieve this result, the medicine is taken in long courses. Usually the minimum period for treatment with medications is 6 months.
The main active ingredients in popular chondroprotectors are chondroitin and glucosamine. Both components interact with each other and promote regeneration in joint tissues.
The drugs contain an equal proportion of active ingredients and have the following effects:
Chondroprotectors are taken twice a day, one capsule. Over time, you can switch to a single use of the drug. The shell must not be chewed. The drug should be taken with a sufficient amount of water. Best taken between meals.
Regular use of chondroprotectors helps reduce the dosage of analgesics, antispasmodics and non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs. The negative impact on the body is reduced. Medicines from this group not only eliminate unpleasant symptoms, but fight the very cause of the disease.
A drug based on chondroitin and glucosamine rarely causes side effects. If this happens, you should consult a doctor.
Contraindications include the following conditions and diseases:
The most common drugs from this group are as follows:
Chondroprotector is the most effective medicine for arthrosis. They not only eliminate symptoms, but also heal cartilage tissue to prevent unpleasant manifestations. Chondroprotectors are not a new medicine. It’s just that some patients believe that the course of treatment is too expensive and it’s easier to use painkillers for the rest of their lives.
Drug treatment of arthrosis is not complete without the use of non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs. These drugs are taken to relieve pain and eliminate the inflammatory process, especially in the acute phase of the disease.
Medicines in this group are available in different forms:
Long-term use of non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs causes harm to the body. The digestive system suffers the most.
For pain in the knees and other joints of the legs, the following medications are used for arthrosis of the NSAID group:
Nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drugs are taken to keep the patient comfortable while receiving basic systemic treatment. When other methods are effective and the pain is no longer so severe, the use of NSAIDs is discontinued.
It is worth considering that medications from the NSAID group for arthrosis only help with pain of moderate and mild intensity. To relieve acute pain, it is worth using combination medications.
To increase the effectiveness of the drugs used, several forms of drug release can be used simultaneously. There are cheap gels that are applied topically. At the same time, you can inject or take other NSAIDs in capsules.
Muscle relaxants are drugs whose purpose is to relax the muscles around the affected joint. Such remedies are used for arthrosis of such large joints. This may include destruction of the knee or hip joint.
With severe pain, the muscles tense involuntarily, which increases general discomfort and worsens well-being. In such cases, the doctor may recommend the following medications:
Prolonged spasm leads to a lack of oxygen. This is bad for the joint, especially with arthrosis.
Vasodilator Drotaverine promotes vasodilation and improves nutrition within cartilage tissue.
Corticosteroid is a drug for arthrosis, which is prescribed only for very severe pain. The medicine works flawlessly. Inflammation, pain, swelling, redness of tissues go away. Drugs in this group are prescribed only by a doctor. Therapy is always short-term. They have many side effects.
Although corticosteroids are combined with most medications, concomitant use is not always recommended. This enhances the effect of different groups of drugs and may increase the likelihood of a negative reaction.
The following corticosteroids are often prescribed:
Corticosteroids are hormonal agents. Self-prescription of such medications leads to the development of complications.
Hormone therapy is carried out under the supervision of a doctor. Abrupt withdrawal of the drug is prohibited. This can cause severe impairment of kidney function, sudden weight gain and other problems in the body.
If gouty arthrosis of the joint has developed, you need to take special medications. They promote the timely removal of uric acid salts from the body and prevent their accumulation.
In most cases, the following drugs are prescribed:
To achieve an effect, drugs of this group are used in a course for arthrosis. The average duration of treatment is 2-3 months. The best remedy for arthrosis and the scheme for its use are determined by the doctor based on the examination results.
Everyone wants to use drugs that will cause minimal harm to the body. It is homeopathy that causes the least number of side effects and has a minimum of contraindications.
Systemic use of homeopathic remedies helps to increase the duration of remission. Acute phases occur rarely, the pain is not so severe.
Although the effectiveness of homeopathy has been proven, such treatment should not be the main treatment in the fight against arthrosis. Restoring joints requires an integrated approach.
All patients have to take pills for arthrosis. However, there is another method that is used quite often.
A drug is injected into the joint cavity, which has a direct effect. This technique allows you to speed up the healing process. Various active ingredients can be used as the basis for injection.
The introduction of hyaluronic acid creates the effect of artificial cartilage. Joint lubrication quickly improves, pain from arthrosis is relieved, and destructive processes are slowed down.
Hydrocortisone injections are used for acute discomfort. Relieves inflammation. It cannot be used for a long time, since the active substance does not nourish, but destroys cartilage tissue.
Cartilage tissue needs adequate nutrition. Even the most competent diet does not contain all the necessary substances. Therefore, the attending physician selects a drug containing:
It would be good if the complex was supplemented with a group of vitamins. For joint arthrosis, the drug should contain vitamins A, B, D and PP.
Properly selected drug therapy will help reduce negative symptoms of joint arthrosis. Some drugs are used only to reduce unpleasant symptoms, while others have a direct effect on cartilage tissue, restoring its damaged structure.
The success of combating the disease lies in timely diagnosis and an integrated approach to treatment. This is especially true for chronic progressive pathologies such as arthrosis. The lack of proper therapy in the early stages leads to the formation of pain and contractures (immobility) in the later stages. Therefore, it is necessary to treat arthrosis of the hip joint in a timely and complete manner, since these joints are extremely necessary for movement. In the article we will consider all possible methods of therapy, including drug treatment, kinesiotherapy, possible surgical operations and treatment with folk remedies.
Osteoarthritis can affect one or both hip joints
Treatment of arthrosis of the hip joint at home must necessarily begin with lifestyle correction and non-drug correction. According to international experts in the field of traumatology and rheumatology, it is these methods that can reduce the level of pain and make a person’s life easier. It is a mistake to think that arthrosis of the hip joint is treated by a doctor. The prognosis of the disease is primarily influenced by the person himself, following all medical recommendations, primarily regarding the correction of body weight, physical activity and proper nutrition.
Treatment of deforming arthrosis of the hip joint, or more correctly, coxarthrosis, begins with following a diet aimed at reducing body weight. The body mass index of an “arthrosis sufferer” should be within the normal range, since it is normal weight that will help unload the joint and reduce the rate of progression of degenerative changes. There is no clearly defined diet for those suffering from coxarthrosis. Therefore, it is important for the patient to remember the main goals pursued by the diet in case of illness:
In this regard, nutritionists advise including dairy (if there is no intolerance) and fermented milk products in your diet every day. The ideal option is a glass of low-fat kefir, 1% cottage cheese. For tea you can allow 40-50 g of hard cheese. Ryazhenka and sour cream should not be overused due to their high calorie content. Dairy products will partially help meet the body's calcium needs. Every day it is recommended to eat about 500 g of fresh or boiled vegetables. Be sure to include fruits specific to the region in your diet.
Doctors are categorical regarding sweets and easily digestible carbohydrates: they should be consumed to a minimum. If you cannot completely give up sweets, then it is better to replace sugar with honey, and cakes with biscuits. Eliminate white bread from the diet completely; coarsely ground black bread is perfect instead. However, even after making the above replacements, you should remember that any type of carbohydrates significantly increases the total calorie content of food, so you won’t be able to lose weight by constantly eating buns. The diet must be balanced in proteins. It is preferable to choose low-fat varieties of meat or fish. In addition to animal products, a lot of protein is found in legumes, soybeans, and some cereals, such as spelt.
Coffee, strong tea, and alcohol are not contraindicated for arthrosis of the hip joint, but their quantity should be reasonable. The size of each portion is of no small importance in a healthy diet: it is better to eat food often, but little by little, for example 5-6 rubles per day.
Drug treatment is aimed at stopping the inflammatory process and restoring the hip joint
Regardless of the stage of arthrosis of the hip joints, physical therapy is recommended for all patients. Its goal is to increase joint mobility, reduce pain and prevent muscle atrophy. Standard sets of exercises have been developed for patients with coxarthrosis. To study them, you can contact a doctor, or you can master the techniques yourself by watching educational videos presented on the Internet, for example, exercises for joints according to Bubnovsky.
Therapeutic exercise also has a general strengthening character, having a positive effect on the entire body, which is important for older people, who are most often diagnosed with arthrosis of the hip joint of degree 2 and higher, accompanied by pain. Recommendations from orthopedists for performing exercise therapy:
Recently, there has been a rare conference of orthopedists without discussion of the fact that conservative treatment must necessarily include orthopedic correction. If arthrosis of the hip joint is diagnosed as 1st or 2nd degree, and the pain syndrome is not expressed, the mobility of the joint is preserved, then the correction includes wearing special insoles, orthoses, and shoes. If a person has arthrosis of the hip joint of the 3rd degree or even the fourth, there is a complete or partial deformation of the joint, movements cause significant pain, canes and elbow crutches are recommended. Many people are embarrassed by wearing orthopedic devices, but it should be remembered that a simple procedure reduces the load on the articular surfaces by about 20%.
Physical therapy and orthopedic correction should not be underestimated. The combination of these methods and their effectiveness is something new in treatment that has been proven recently. The main thing is to follow your doctor's instructions exactly and do the exercises regularly.
A doctor develops a set of therapeutic exercises for arthrosis of the hip joint
Drug treatment without surgery always involves an integrated approach. Let us explain what drug therapy helps to cope with the disease and how certain groups of drugs work.
Treatment of arthritis and arthrosis according to Bolotov
I have friends. There are many of them, they live in different cities and countries. But now I would like to talk about very special people. I want to talk about Larisa and Gleb Pogozhev. Several years ago, in search of health, they left with their children from the city of Murmansk to the remote Pskov region and began to live in a remote village. But they did not run away from civilization, they did not hide from people, on the contrary, their idea was to test for themselves whether a person after forty years, burdened with various diseases, can restore his physical and mental health. And they succeeded! It was possible thanks to the remarkable discoveries in the field of human physiology by the Ukrainian scientist and educator Boris Vasilyevich Bolotov. They studied all the books of the Ukrainian wizard[6] and decided that the system proposed by Bolotov was their only salvation.
Larisa and Gleb began to live according to the rules of Academician Bolotov, and - lo and behold! - ailments, destructive old age, mental fatigue gave way to an extraordinary spiritual and physical recovery, and the results of this amazing revival were so surprising for them that they decided to share their experience with people. At first they wrote one book. Readers liked her. A continuation followed. And today Larisa and Gleb are the authors of five wonderful books, the main theme of which is health. The latest book of the amazing couple is called: “Life according to Bolotov.”
Since the Pogozhevs are rural people, they live far from even the regional center, their communication with people occurs mainly through their books. But I managed to meet them. After all, they are authors who work in the same publishing house as me. Of course, we found a lot of common ground. I won’t hide it, they taught me a lot. But I also helped them in some ways. I am especially flattered that Larisa and Gleb, thanks to me, learned about the amazing plant that we are talking about on the pages of this book - the marsh cinquefoil. I showed the Pogozhevs where and how cinquefoil grows, how to prepare it correctly, and shared my recipes, best practices and ideas. Of course, in Bolotov’s books, according to which Pskov healers actually live, cinquefoil is often mentioned as an extremely powerful medicinal plant. But still, which I am immensely glad about, Larisa and Gleb not only introduced cinquefoil into the medicinal products that they prepare according to the recipes of Academician Bolotov, but also sincerely fell in love with our modest, native swamp dekop.
It was Larisa and Gleb who helped me compile material about Bolotov’s medicinal remedies on marsh cinquefoil, which is brought to your attention. Of course, since I helped the Pogozhevs at one time draw up a treatment program for arthritis and arthrosis, I would like to talk about the treatment of these particular diseases.
In order to take advantage of the healing system proposed by L. and G. Pogozhev in relation to the treatment of arthritis and arthrosis, you need to learn how to prepare and use Bolotov’s classic medicinal products - Bolotov’s balls and Bolotov’s enzyme kvass.
What do arthritis and arthrosis have in common?
Arthritis and arthrosis are different diseases. But what they have in common is pain and inflammation in the joints and spine. Severe or persistent joint pain can limit a person's mobility and has confined many people to a chair or bed. Treatment according to Bolotov using enzyme kvass and Bolotov balls will help not only relieve pain, but also cope with these difficult-to-treat diseases. In order to remove salts from the body and dissolve harmful deposits (for example, salts from joints in case of gout), salt-dissolving teas are used.
The main means for restoring internal organs damaged by disease are Bolotov balls, which are prepared from vegetable cakes or medicinal plants corresponding to the disease. Balls are small pieces of cakes from various plants, prepared according to a special recipe. The cakes have a negative potential, which persists for several weeks until the fibrous substances of the cakes absorb ionized air elements. Fresh cakes, due to their electropotential properties, are capable of drawing metals (including radionuclides and heavy metals), carcinogenic substances and free radicals from the walls of the stomach and duodenal bulb. In addition, the cakes themselves not only absorb the remains of salty gastric fluids, but are also important intestinal fillers, capable of restoring the epithelium of the entire intestinal tract. In addition, the balls contain additives from medicinal plants in homeopathic quantities, which help restore tissue destroyed by the disease.
To make the balls easier to swallow, we recommend lubricating them a little with vegetable oil or sour cream. True, if you prepare Bolotov balls based on honey, then you don’t need to do this.
How to prepare Bolotov balls
Cake is prepared from vegetables or fruits with the addition of medicinal plants. To do this, juice is squeezed out of vegetables and fruits that have been cleared of dirt and peel using a juicer.
As soon as you receive the cakes, you immediately need to roll them with your palms into small balls the size of a bean. If according to the recipe you need to add some kind of medicinal plant to the balls, then you first need to crush it, then mix it with vegetable cakes, and only then roll it into a ball.
When making balls with medicinal plants, it is necessary to remember that fruit and vegetable cakes correspond to the medicinal plant. It is advisable to combine plants growing in similar climatic conditions. For example, combine cinquefoil with forest and marsh berries - cranberries, blueberries, lingonberries. But the tropical golden mustache can also be combined with exotic fruits.
Bolotov balls with cinquefoil
To prepare one serving of balls, you need to brew 10 g of very finely chopped cinquefoil rhizomes with boiling water and leave for an hour. Make juice from one glass of lingonberries, blueberries or cranberries (you can use soaked berries) using a juicer or a wooden masher. Remember to use only glass or porcelain dishes. Squeeze out the juice, leaving only the berry pulp. After an hour, squeeze the juice from the cinquefoil rhizomes, combine them with berry cakes, and roll into balls in your hands.
Bolotov balls should be stored in the refrigerator for no more than two weeks. The balls are taken 3 times a day, 2 tbsp. spoons 20 minutes before meals. However, there is no need to chew them. Drink the juice that you got from preparing the cakes at night.
Enzyme kvass Bolotov
To influence metabolic processes (this is especially important when, for example, the immune balance is disturbed, as in the case of rheumatoid arthritis), it is recommended to use Bolotov’s enzyme kvass. Boris Vasilyevich himself writes the following about his enzyme kvass.
Enzymes based on lactic bacteria have been used for medicinal purposes since ancient times. For example, cow's milk under the influence of these lactic acid bacteria is converted into a curd liquid mass with whey. These serum bacteria, when consumed internally, have a beneficial effect on the body. But whey, which is now formed from milk, on the contrary, has a depressing effect on humans... This happens due to the fact that animals receive inferior food (grasses, as a rule, of a monotonous assortment). As a result, milk, and then whey, lose valuable medicinal properties. I decided to restore the healing properties of the serum. I raised lactic whey bacteria in an environment where medicinal plants were present.
Thus, if you take whey, add sugar and medicinal herbs to it, you will get whey, or Bolotov’s kvass.
How to prepare medicinal kvass using cinquefoil
Medicinal kvass is prepared on the basis of fresh whey (you will need 3 liters of whey) and 1 cup of crushed cinquefoil rhizomes. We place the grass in a gauze bag and, using a weight (pebble), lower it to the bottom of the jar. You can add 1 teaspoon of sour cream and 1 cup of granulated sugar to the resulting whey. Kvass will be ready in 2 weeks; it should be stored in a warm, dark place. Cover the jar with three layers of gauze.
Enzyme kvass and Bolotov balls have no contraindications for use. Both medications can be taken simultaneously. If for some reason it is difficult for you to prepare one of the medicinal products, then it is better to use only enzyme kvass. My personal observations of patients with arthritis and arthrosis show some redundancy in the simultaneous use of balls and medicinal kvass. I know those who completely managed to improve the course of the disease by taking only enzyme kvass.
Medicinal balls can be taken without any breaks for a long time. But usually, when the stage of the disease is not advanced, the need for them disappears after a few months, that is, after your illness subsides. Then you can take the usual general strengthening cleansing balls made from beet pulp.
Bolotov's medicinal kvass is drunk before meals, 10–20 minutes, 0.5 cups, 2 times a day (morning and evening) for a month. Then a month-long break is taken, and then treatment with kvass is resumed. Each time the amount of kvass drunk is replenished with the appropriate amount of whey or water and sugar. The next day, the kvass again becomes suitable for consumption.
To improve the taste, you can add aromatic plants in small quantities to medicinal kvass: cumin, hops, dill, blackcurrant leaves, pepper, coriander, pine needles. You don’t need to put a lot, a couple of teaspoons of a mixture of several aromatic plants is enough for 3 liters.
Drink medicinal kvass until you feel significantly better. However, after this it is recommended to switch to Bolotov’s “Health” kvass. At least the creator of enzyme kvass himself has been using it for many years without any breaks, believing that this is one of the components of his health.
Kvass Bolotova “Health”
To prepare general strengthening kvass, pour 3 liters of water into a jar, put 30–40 chestnut fruits cut in half (not necessarily peeled), 1 cup granulated sugar and add 0.5 cup whey or 1 teaspoon of sour cream. The jar is kept in a warm room (2535 °C) for 2 weeks, then 2-3 cups of kvass are poured out of it and immediately the same amount of water is added to it and 1-2 tbsp is added. spoons of granulated sugar. The next day you can drink kvass.
Drink one glass of this drink A daily portion of Bolotov’s “Health” kvass will help you not only cleanse your body, but also make it immune to many diseases. After all, drinking a glass of this miraculous drink before breakfast strengthens the endocrine system, increases the amount of calcium, copper and iodine in the body.
It is clear that chestnut fruits in quantities suitable for year-round preparation of kvass are not so easy to find in areas of northern latitudes. Therefore, you can prepare tonic kvass, as Boris Bolotov advises, from banana peels or orange peels.
To do this, you will need 3 liters of water and 2-3 cups of finely chopped banana peels or orange peels. In addition, you need to add 1 teaspoon of sour cream and the same amount of granulated sugar to the water.
Kvass will be ready in 2 weeks; it should be stored in a warm, dark place. Cover the jar with three layers of gauze. It should be noted that kvass made from banana skins is an excellent remedy for cancer.
Don't forget to top up the kvass jar with water and the appropriate amount of sugar. The next day, the kvass again becomes suitable for consumption.
Bolotov's anti-arthritic balls are made from carrot cake. For a medicinal supplement, use the above-ground part of the dried string herb. You need to add very little of it, 1 teaspoon per daily portion of balls.
As for the string, if you decide to prepare it yourself, you need to know that it blooms in June - September, and its fruits ripen in August - October. The herb is collected during the budding phase, when it accumulates the greatest amount of substances that have a particularly active effect on diseased joints. Cut off the tops and lateral leafy shoots no more than 15 cm long. When drying, lay out in a thin layer on burlap and turn over daily. Once the stems begin to break, the grass is considered dry. Store raw materials in canvas bags; shelf life 2 years.
Bolotov’s anti-arthritic kvass is prepared according to the usual scheme based on crushed roots of marsh cinquefoil.
Bolotov balls for gout must be prepared from carrot cakes and crushed bean pod husks. They should be taken in a 1:1 ratio.
Bolotov's kvass for gout is prepared according to the usual scheme. To prepare it you will need 1 cup of dried nettle leaves. Israeli specialists are also known for their microsurgery techniques, which are successfully used for congenital deformities and joint replacement. When treating rheumatoid arthritis, Israeli doctors also use modern methods of extracorporeal correction (this occurs by cleansing the blood of autoimmune proteins). Laser therapy, which softens and loosens the connective tissue of joints, and cryotherapy (exposure to low temperatures on joints) are also used quite successfully.
If at the initial stage of mycotic damage to the nail plate appropriate therapeutic measures were not taken, then the disease progresses to the last stage (normotrophic). In this case, treatment of an advanced form of toenail fungus requires an integrated approach, characterized by a long period of recovery for the patient, often involving surgical intervention.
At an advanced stage, the nail becomes deformed, becomes brittle, cracks, and crumbles. The color of the plate changes, it becomes brown, brown and even black. When wearing closed shoes, painful sensations occur and there is an unpleasant odor.
The nail plate peels off from the bed, bacteria develop in the affected area, which can lead to the appearance of pus and vesicular blisters that burst and form erosive lesions.
An advanced form of toenail fungus is easily diagnosed by a visual examination by a dermatologist, but to identify the pathogen group, it is important to undergo laboratory tests in order to effectively select a comprehensive treatment.
The danger of nail fungus in an advanced stage lies in poisoning the body with toxins released by pathogenic sources of onychomycosis. The disease recurs, grows, capturing the external and internal organs of a person.
If left untreated, the development of dermatitis and eczema is provoked, the mucous membrane becomes inflamed, and allergic reactions appear. This is not just an aesthetic problem, but a serious violation that requires immediate elimination from the body.
Treatment in advanced stages is carried out in accordance with the following principles:
Combined treatment of nail fungus in an advanced stage involves mechanical removal of the damaged area of the nail plate, grinding of the stratum corneum, followed by the application of antifungal compounds.
Local remedies for advanced toenail fungus are available in the form of ointments, sprays, solutions, lotions, drops, and gels. Apply to the cleansed and steamed affected area until completely absorbed, do not wash off.
If the question arises of how and with what to treat toenail fungus in an advanced stage, then preference should be given to the following external pharmaceutical preparations:
It is recommended to use varnishes and sprays to destroy fungus in an advanced stage. A popular remedy is Loceryl varnish - it accumulates in the area affected by the fungus and is used until the nail is completely restored.
Demicten is prescribed for the treatment of onychomycosis, relieves fungal lesions, eliminates itching, unpleasant odor, and promotes the healing of microcracks and ulcers. Batrafen varnish causes allergic reactions and, in the absence of contraindications, effectively fights many types of fungus.
You can cure chronic toenail fungus with the systemic use of tablets. Many drugs can cause gastrointestinal disorders - they are prescribed strictly by a specialist.
Effective antifungal tablets Fucis, Orungal, Itraconazole have a strong effect on the mycelium of the fungus. Contraindications are liver disease, kidney disease, pregnancy, age under 5 years. Absorbed into the blood. Available in different volumes of the main component. The dosage is determined individually.
In 70% of cases, successful treatment of the patient requires removal of the nail plate. At home, this happens by steaming the nail and applying antifungal patches that soften the plate. Afterwards, the nail is separated from the bed and trimmed with nail scissors.
You can use a hardware pedicure, carry out the procedure for removing the plate in a specialized center, with high compliance with the level of sterility of the workplace, in order to avoid secondary infection.
Surgical intervention deprives a person of ability to work for several weeks - the nail bed remains open, regular dressings and compresses with topical antifungal drugs are required.
Removing fungus with a laser is a fairly new and expensive procedure that allows not only to eliminate the infection, but also to accelerate the healing and regrowth of the nail plate, eliminating relapses of the disease.
The laser allows you to effectively treat the affected area with a beam, removing the fungus at the cellular level without affecting healthy tissue. A few procedures at monthly intervals are enough to completely get rid of fungal infection. The cost of the procedure is from 1000 rubles.
Contraindications to laser therapy include skin diseases, psoriasis, diabetes, pregnancy and lactation, chronic pathologies, and the presence of cancer.
Self-treatment of onychomycosis with folk remedies in an advanced stage is not effective, only in combination with medications. Cleansing procedures help remove contamination and open the wound for effective penetration of healing components.
For this purpose, baths are used with the addition of sea salt, soda, soap solution, essential oils of cardamom, citrus, herbal decoctions, and plant juice. Popular recipes:
Before carrying out traditional treatment, be sure to consult a doctor and test for the presence of an allergic reaction to each natural component. If rash or other side effects occur, stop treatment.
What do reviews about the treatment of advanced toenail fungus indicate - what methods are the most effective in the process of getting rid of old onychomycosis?
While still at school, I developed a fungus on my big toe, but without qualified treatment, the disease became chronic and often recurred. It was only 2 years ago that I began to thoroughly treat the fungus - I turned to a dermatologist for help, took a course of antifungal agents, and attended several laser therapy sessions. Finally, the symptoms of the disease have disappeared, I feel great, I wear high-heeled shoes and do not experience any lingering discomfort. The fungus can be defeated, but it is best to do this in the initial stages of infection!
Valentina, 29 years old, Kaliningrad
It is easy to spread a fungus, but it is very difficult to cure it in a severe stage. It took me 5 years. I used inexpensive but effective antifungal drugs - Terbinafine, ichthyol, sulfur, and zinc ointments. Every day I soaked my feet in a soda-saline solution and disinfected my shoes after every visit to the street. Over time, the disease subsided. I'm really afraid of re-infection!

Depending on the degree of damage to the nail and skin, medications for advanced nail fungus are selected. It is important to trust specialists in this matter in order to avoid serious consequences - damage to internal tissues, deformation of the nail plate.
Take care of yourself and do not self-medicate!
