Human fingers and nails are exposed to harmful effects every day. This negatively affects their condition. Often the skin becomes dry and thin, flaking and cracking.
If the skin peels off around the nails and cracks appear, you can use special pharmacy creams. They usually contain vitamin E. It promotes a speedy recovery. Radevit and F-99 are considered the most effective creams. In addition, healing substances are used - D-Panthenol and Bepanten. In case of severe damage, Actovegin is used. Such products intensively moisturize the skin.
Fans of traditional medicine recommend glycerin with honey (2:1). A little flour is added to this mixture until it thickens. The resulting product is applied to the nails and left for twenty minutes.
Glycerin can be replaced with another oil. But in this case, the product must be applied overnight.
This method will help when the skin around your nails peels off. Cosmetic wax is heated in a water bath. Then the fingertips are dipped into the composition. Wait until the composition hardens. Then put on cotton gloves.
The procedure is carried out before bedtime. The wax needs to be removed in the morning.
Traditional healers recommend preparing an ointment from celandine. Just one bunch of such a plant needs to be brought to a boil, placed in a glass of olive or sunflower oil. Then you need to cool the product and dip your fingers in it for twenty minutes.
The best way to eliminate peeling skin around the nails is a starch bath. To prepare it, potato food starch (1 tbsp) is diluted in hot water (1 l). Then place your fingers in this liquid and hold for a quarter of an hour. After this, you need to dry your hands with a towel and lubricate them with nourishing cream.
In addition, a potato bath will give an excellent effect. To do this, milk (200 ml) is mixed with water (400 ml), crushed boiled potatoes are added. All this is thoroughly mixed, then hands are placed in the composition. Hold for twenty minutes. After this, hands should be wiped with a towel and lubricated with rich cream.
Shilajit will help eliminate skin flaking. This product is diluted in water, then the hands are dipped into the solution. Brushes are not wiped off. Shilajit will not only moisturize the skin, but also relieve irritation and relieve itching.
To prevent the skin around your nails from peeling, it is important to pay special attention to it. After washing, hands must be dried thoroughly. Prolonged contact with water should not be allowed. For water procedures, it is advisable to use only mild soap. Cleaning should be done with rubber gloves. In cold weather, it is advisable to wear mittens. You need to apply nourishing cream to your hands at least twice a day.
Food deserves special attention. For seasonal vitamin deficiency, it is necessary to use vitamin-mineral complexes. Additionally, it is permissible to use gelatin, both in its pure form and as part of marmalade or jelly.
It should be understood that peeling skin is not a harmless phenomenon. Often this signals serious chronic diseases. The skin around the nails can peel off due to diabetes, metabolic disorders, hormonal imbalances, gastrointestinal diseases, eczema and thyroid diseases. Of course, in such cases, self-medication is not the answer, because bleeding and significant discomfort are often added to peeling skin. Then a specialist should deal with the problem.
Peeling of the skin often occurs due to poor nutrition, fungal diseases, aggressive effects of detergents and many other reasons. Therefore, it would be useful to consult a dermatologist before using the above-described remedies. After all, who knows, perhaps the skin around the nails will peel off due to epidermophytosis. This fungal infection affects the nails and skin. It is difficult to get rid of this problem with ointments or creams. Over time, the skin will begin to peel off again. This will increase the risk of infecting others. The doctor, as a rule, in such cases prescribes not only ointments, but also antifungal agents.
Dry, flaky skin often signals a lack of vitamins, minerals and amino acids in the body, which regulate proper metabolism. In this case, you should supplement your diet with wholemeal bread, vegetables, rice, fish, nuts, chicken, dairy products, and eggs. Taking a vitamin-mineral complex will help maintain the balance of substances necessary for the body.
To prevent the skin around the nails from peeling off, it is important to protect the areas of the side ridges and the cuticle area from exposure to harmful substances contained in detergents. After working with household chemicals, it is advisable to wash your hands with soap. In this case, you cannot use laundry soap. After housework, nails should be lubricated with nourishing cream.
Hands should be washed exclusively with warm water and rinsed with cold water. This will ensure a stable blood supply to the tissues. This approach will help train blood vessels. Cream soap is ideal. However, it is important to thoroughly dry your hands and the area around your nails with a towel after each wash.
In the morning and evening, a nourishing cream with glycerin or hyaluronic acid is applied to the cuticles and side ridges. The area around the nail should be treated with a scrub. This will help get rid of cells that are already dying. The scrub is washed off with warm water, then a special oil or nourishing cream is applied to the skin.
A manicurist will help eliminate peeling skin. Specialized salons offer hot oil manicure services. It promotes the systematic restoration of the nail and the skin around it. This procedure will help moisturize the cuticle area and side ridges. When carrying it out, special professional tools are used. Timely treatment will help stop the development of the pathological process at the initial stage.
Every day our hands are exposed to various aggressive factors. As a result, the skin can become very dry and crack. The problem most often occurs in the area around the nails. Why does the skin on my fingers crack? How to eliminate such a defect? We will consider these and other questions in the article.
Wind, cold, prolonged exposure to sunlight - all this does not have the best effect on the condition of the skin. They begin to dry out a lot and cracks in the skin may occur. Cold has the most aggressive effect on the epidermis. At sub-zero temperatures, the skin becomes dry much faster. Its condition is adversely affected by sudden changes in temperature, air humidity, and prolonged contact with hard water. Frequent hand washing, especially with soap, causes severe drying of the skin, even to the point of cracking.
Quite often, the skin on the fingers near the nails cracks due to contact with chemicals (cleaning agents, washing powder, dishwashing gel, wallpaper glue, cement, paint, varnish, etc.), soil (planting, weeding), and the use of unsuitable types. skin or low-quality cosmetics.
Treatment in this case consists primarily of eliminating or minimizing contact with irritating factors. When cleaning an apartment, it is recommended to use rubber gloves, for working with soil - fabric ones, in the winter season it is necessary to wear warm gloves and treat the skin with a special protective cream.
If the skin on your fingers cracks, the cause may be hidden inside the body. These are hormonal imbalances, which result in metabolic disorders, progression of chronic diseases (diabetes, thyroid diseases), and age-related changes. Diseases of the digestive system or metabolic disorders lead to a deficiency of vitamins, microelements, and minerals, which are responsible for water balance, skin elasticity, and its general condition. A lack of these important components can be caused by an insufficiently balanced diet. This is especially noticeable with a deficiency of vitamins B, E, A. As a result, the skin on the fingers near the nails cracks.
Non-infectious (eczema) and infectious (fungus) skin ailments also belong to internal factors. With such pathologies, the skin on the fingertips most often cracks. Fungal diseases of the epidermis, in addition to cracks, are manifested by itching, rash, peeling, blistering rashes, and deformation of the nail plate. With eczema, the symptoms described above are accompanied by swelling of the skin, the affected areas thicken. Also, with these diseases, the skin cracks between the fingers.
If the cracks in your hands are deep enough, painful, do not heal for a long time and bleed, you should consult a doctor. After an examination and necessary tests, the doctor will find out why the skin on the fingertips and around the nails is cracking and prescribe appropriate therapy. It is not recommended to independently treat infectious and fungal diseases of the skin of the hands - this is not only ineffective, but in some cases it is dangerous to health.
When the epidermis dries out and the skin on the fingers, near the nails and other areas cracks, you can use effective means of modern medicine and cosmetology. By choosing the right medications, you can not only prevent drying out of the epidermis, but also speed up healing if a crack has already formed.
Lubricate your hands several times a day with a special cream designed to treat cracks. Such products include “Radevit”, “Bepanten”, “D-Panthenol”. For very deep cracks, ointments such as Solcoseryl and Actovegin will help.
Effective traditional medicine recipes can improve the condition of the skin.
Combine 2 tbsp. l. water and glycerin, add a tablespoon of honey and a little flour. Apply the resulting mixture to your hands and hold for 20 minutes. In the absence of glycerin, you can mix flour, honey and some oil in equal proportions. Apply the composition to the skin before going to bed and put on cotton gloves.
You can get rid of dry skin with the help of vegetable oils - olive, sea buckthorn, sunflower. Before going to bed, you should lubricate your hands well and wear cotton gloves. If dry skin is accompanied by cracks in the fingers, it is recommended to use oil solutions of vitamins A and E.
A mummy solution will help eliminate cracks in the skin - dissolve 2 tablets of the product in water and apply the resulting mixture to your hands, do not wipe. This procedure will eliminate itching and pain.
Melt natural wax in a water bath. Dip your fingers into the tolerably hot liquid. The wax quickly hardens into thimbles. After the procedure, put on gloves and leave it overnight; remove the wax in the morning (it can be used many times). This method is effective not only for treating cracked fingers, but also for strengthening nails.
For chapped skin on the hands and especially the area around the nails, celandine ointment will help. Place a handful of herbs in a saucepan, add a glass of vegetable oil, put on fire, bring to a boil and immediately remove. After the mixture has cooled, add beeswax (20 g), put the container on the fire and stir until the wax dissolves. Cool the resulting product and store it in the refrigerator. After using this ointment, the pain disappears almost immediately, and the cracks heal very quickly.
For very dry skin and cracks, a carrot food supplement will help. Grate a kilogram of vegetables and pour in vegetable oil. Place in a steam bath and simmer for three to four hours. Then pour into jars and store in the refrigerator. Use two tablespoons of the resulting product daily, adding it to cooked dishes. This supplement will restore health and smoothness not only to the skin of your hands, but will also relieve your feet from calluses and corns.
The lower extremities are also adversely affected by numerous factors. The skin between the toes cracks for the following reasons:
Insufficient care. Unfortunately, not all of us get pedicures regularly. This procedure is important not only for beauty, but also to prevent the formation of cracks.
Vitamin deficiency. The healthy appearance of the skin in general and the toes in particular depends on the sufficient content of vitamins A and E in the body.
Insufficient hydration. The skin of the feet is often deprived of moisture, especially in the summer. It must be regularly moisturized with special cosmetics, otherwise it will begin to peel and crack.
Dermatological diseases. Such diseases include dermatitis, fungus, psoriasis, eczema, and they manifest themselves as cracks in the skin.
Allergy. Contact with a certain allergen provokes the appearance of cracks between the toes. It can be sand, animal hair, synthetic materials and more.
Uncomfortable shoes. Wearing tight, uncomfortable shoes leads to poor circulation and subsequently to cracked toes.
In order for the treatment to be as effective as possible, the cause of the cracks must be accurately determined. A specialist can do this. It is also recommended to adhere to the following recommendations:
You should choose only high-quality shoes. It is preferable that it be made of genuine leather. In this case, the skin of the legs will be able to “breathe”. In this case, excess moisture will not arise, as is the case with synthetic materials, which means fungi and microbes will not be able to multiply.
Maintain a balanced diet and include foods rich in vitamins in your menu.
Do pedicures regularly, apply special creams to the skin of your feet that moisturize and accelerate the regeneration processes of the epidermis. Pedicures can be done not only in beauty salons, but also at home.
Timely identify and treat various dermatological diseases. If the disease is started, it will take a very long time for the condition to normalize in the future.
Remember that it is always easier to prevent any problem than to fix it for a long time. If the skin on your fingers near the nails is already cracking, take immediate action. It is very difficult to heal cracked hands until they bleed. Therefore, always protect your skin with specialized cosmetics and use a nourishing or moisturizing cream. Before contact with detergents, it is recommended to treat your hands with a protective cream containing silicone; before going outside in winter, lubricate them with a special winter cream. Take care of yourself, be beautiful and healthy!
Dry skin around fingernails is the most common complaint people have. Why does the cuticle area dry out? For many, the main reason is the influence of weather conditions. The skin of the hands, and especially the fingers, is most often exposed to adverse factors from the external environment.
Internal dysfunction is often the culprit. A dermatologist will help you understand the causes of all problems with the epidermis. He will also prescribe treatment and cosmetics designed to care for dry areas around the nails.
The main mechanism for the appearance of dryness near the nail plates is dehydration of the epidermis. The consequence of this process is cracks and bleeding. The main reasons leading to moisture deficiency in cells are as follows:
If the hardening is not associated with infection, then in the initial stages you can treat yourself using homemade remedies.
Methods of combating dehydration should be comprehensive if the cause of dry epidermis is associated with internal factors.
When exposed to external conditions, emphasis should be placed on proper care with the selection of suitable products, taking into account the specific skin type. Treatment includes:
If your intake of vitamins from food is insufficient, you need to change your diet. The skin does not receive the substances it needs to maintain a healthy appearance, which is why it peels off in the future.
During the day, carrots, tomatoes, pumpkin or greens must be present in the diet. They are sources of vitamin A. Eggs, cheese, potatoes and corn are good sources of many nutrients. They are considered the most valuable due to the presence of vitamin E in their composition.
In addition to a diet enriched with vitamins, it is important to have sufficient water in the body (2-2.5 liters per day).
If you get tired of drinking tasteless liquid, then add ginger, lemon juice, honey or mint for variety.
In the evening, every day you need to moisturize the epidermis of your fingers in a bath with natural products. Dry cuticles are softened by adding vitamin E, lemon juice, milk or various oils. It is recommended to take baths in the evening for 15-20 minutes.
Remaining oils are removed with a napkin and the procedure is completed by applying a nourishing cream taking into account your skin type. Particular attention is paid to the areas around the nails.
To prepare the mask, use milk, boiled potatoes, rye bread, eggs, various oils and honey. The components are mixed in equal proportions until a thick consistency is obtained. If desired, no ingredient is added.
The mask is applied in a thick layer to the hands and fingers. Particular attention is paid to flaky areas. The duration of the procedure is no more than 20 minutes, and it is recommended to repeat it daily.
Additionally, for advanced forms, Radevit ointment is used. It is rich in nutritional components such as:
If the areas crack and treatment does not help, then Actovegin injections are used as a wound-healing drug. Sometimes you can pamper yourself with salon treatments (paraffin baths, hot oil manicure).
Professional cosmetics combine all the components necessary for the epidermis. After applying the product to problem areas, the skin becomes soft and velvety.
In most cases, the skin around the fingernails peels and dries due to vitamin deficiency and improper care. Nourishing cosmetics are best prepared at home. The main thing is to stock up on oils and combine them with ingredients that are beneficial for the skin.
A person’s hands can tell a lot: about social status, fashion preferences, place of work and even character traits. Beautiful hands for a woman are long nails, smooth skin and well-groomed cuticles. But even a perfect manicure can be ruined by dry, rough skin on the hands and around the nails. It looks as if their owner has never cared for them. What is the reason for this unaesthetic phenomenon?
There are actually many reasons. Common ones include:
You can easily get rid of everyday causes using the means that will be described below. If the problem is internal, these methods are used as auxiliary methods in conjunction with taking medications prescribed by a dermatologist, gastroenterologist, endocrinologist, or gynecologist.
Depending on the cause, getting rid of this unaesthetic problem will be quite easy. That is, if it is not a hormonal imbalance or a gastrointestinal disease, you can use the following remedies:
Active ingredients: floralisin, petroleum jelly, pentol, sorbic acid.
The cream is effective for deep cracks in the skin of the fingers near the nails.
Tea tree oil
They can both soften the skin around the fingernails and eliminate fungal infections. The oil has an antibacterial, antimicrobial, antifungal effect.
Medical glue BF-6
Sold in pharmacies. Prevents infection of cracked skin on the hands and around the nails. Method of action: the drug seals cracks in the fingers and promotes their healing.
Recommended as an aid for dermatitis and various types of psoriasis. The oil eliminates peeling, has a wound healing and antipruritic effect.
When the skin around the nail cracks and peels, home methods will help:
Glycerin and honey mask
Cottage cheese and sunflower oil mask
Hand baths with olive oil
Oatmeal jelly bath
Calendula oil compress
This method is always effective if the cuticle and skin around the nail are dry.
If the skin around the toenail is inflamed, this is most likely the result of a manicure or an infection in the crack. An equally common cause of trouble is an ingrown toenail. In this case, you should arm yourself with antiseptics (iodine, brilliant green, alcohol) and painkillers (rescuer, healer, bepanten).

The problem of ingrown toenails can be solved at home. To do this, you need to steam your finger in hot water, lift the part that has grown in with scissors and put a piece of cotton wool under it. In particularly advanced cases (swelling, pain, suppuration), you should consult a doctor.
The appearance of cracks on the fingers and around the nail usually indicates dermatitis, fungus or psoriasis. The fungus can be cured at home with remedies such as Nystatin and Clotrimazole, but it is better to find out the causes of dermatitis and psoriasis from a dermatologist. Typically, these diseases are treated with diet, namely by eliminating alcohol and confectionery from the diet.
To protect your hand skin from dryness you need to:
Subject to all these rules, the skin on the fingers and around the nails. It's unlikely to burst. The only exception may be psoriasis, since this disease is still considered incurable and all its causes are unknown.
The causes of cracked skin around the nails can be both quite serious and easily remediable. As a rule, treatment does not require special costs or effort. Standard skin care and preventative measures are sufficient. Serious causes of cracks and dryness are fungus, dermatitis and psoriasis.
A common problem associated with nail diseases is nail discoloration. It is observed, as a rule, with anemia, smoking, and general deterioration of health. Sometimes cheap varnish of unknown manufacture leaves permanent stains on the nails, as the paint penetrates under the nail. Unfortunately, the only way to get rid of stains is to wait for the nail to grow back. To avoid this, apply a coat of base polish before applying a heavy-duty topcoat.
Bitten nails are a consequence of a habit that, although certainly bad, is so common that you shouldn’t have a complex about it. To get rid of this habit, apply hot pepper to your fingertips and get your nails done more often.
Unfavorable nails also include yellowed nails of smokers. Sometimes they are even brown. To whiten your nails, use 2% hydrogen peroxide or lemon juice. If these remedies do not help, seek help from a manicurist.
Ribbed or wavy edges are caused by uneven nail growth, usually as a result of injury or disease to the nail. Such nails can be gently sanded with pumice powder, which will help eliminate the defect or reduce it to a minimum. You can cover this defect with varnish.
Grooves (grooves). May extend along the length of the nail. This is usually the result of disease or injury to the nail cells within or adjacent to the matrix.
White spots are not the result of illness or, as some people think, a lack of calcium. May be caused by injury to the base of the nail. As the nail grows, these spots disappear.
Hypertrophy is abnormal thickening of the nail. Usually caused by an internal disorder, such as a local infection.
Atrophy. Thinning of the nail. The nail is noticeably thin, white and bends significantly more than normal nails. The nail plate is separated from the nail bed and is curved at the free end. This deviation can be caused by chronic diseases.
A decrease in the mass of nail tissue, or onychotrophy, causes the loss of shine and loss of weight, and sometimes the loss of nails. This happens due to injury or illness. Damaged nails can be sanded with fine sandpaper, but measures should be taken to prevent further damage and under no circumstances wash your hands with regular soap, much less washing powder.
Pterygium. The cuticle grows forward and attaches to the base of the nail. Carefully remove the overgrown cuticle with nail clippers and do a manicure with oil.
Splitting of nails (onychoschisis). There are two clinical types of the disease: symmetrical lamellar splitting and splitting of the nails in the middle. This nail dystrophy is rare and manifests itself in the splitting of the nail into two or more overlapping layers. Typically, nails grow normally almost to the free edge, but then begin to split. Most often one nail is affected and less often 2-3. The disease is observed in patients with eczema. Partial onychoschizia is a fairly common occurrence in women who are overly keen on manicure and often use nail polish solvents. This can result from a finger injury if handled carelessly. Splitting of the nail plates from the free edge also occurs on streets playing musical instruments, especially stringed ones.
Hanging nail. The nail cracks at the base. May be caused by dry cuticles, excessive cutting, or careless removal. If you do not take care in time, an infection may begin.
Blue nail. This may be due to poor circulation.
A nail with a bruise. The nail will have dark, purple (almost brown or black) spots. This is usually caused by injury and bleeding into the nail bed. Dried blood attaches to the nail and grows with it. Handle this finger very gently. Avoid pressure. The nail may separate from the nail bed.
One of the most common types of damage to the nail plate is fragility and lamination of the free edge . Most often this occurs with excessively frequent use of varnishes, acetone, as well as frequent washing of dishes and laundry using all kinds of synthetic detergents. Therefore, it is important not to overuse varnishes, but instead of acetone, use special nail polish removers. After each dishwashing or laundry, wash your hands thoroughly with warm water and mild soap, dry them and rub them with a mixture that can be prepared from 3 teaspoons of vinegar, a tablespoon of glycerin and 2 tablespoons of vodka. Or simply lubricate your skin with a rich cream.
Very often, damage to the nail plate occurs as a result of careless handling of manicure devices, which can lead to the formation of scratches and cracks on the surface of the nail or the formation of hangnails. Remember that manicures can only be done on healthy nails. Therefore, if your nails are susceptible to any disease, be sure to consult a dermatologist who will prescribe you the necessary course of treatment.
Ingrown nail . As a rule, this problem occurs when manicure is done incorrectly or when nails are bitten. This happens when nails are cut too short or cut on the sides. The nail, instead of growing straight, begins to bend and grow into the side ridges and causes their inflammation. In severe cases, the ingrown toenail is removed under local anesthesia, which does not eliminate the need for repeated surgery. At the very beginning of the disease, a finger massage can help (alas, not always): try to pull the skin as far as possible from the nail that is beginning to grow into it and knead it so that it then lies under the nail, and not on top.
Peeling, uneven, yellowed nails . It may be a fungus, which is not recommended to be treated on your own. Here you will need qualified assistance from a specialist. And don't delay it. The now widely advertised Batrafen varnish gives a positive result only in the early stages of the disease or when it is used together with other medicinal drugs.
The skin around the nail is red, swollen and painful . Candidiasis of the nail folds is possible; occurs due to cuts during manicure. The fungus gets under the back nail fold and multiplies there.
Athlete's foot is a fungal infection that affects the nails and skin. The skin becomes inflamed, itches, and flakes. No matter how much you would like to put off going to the dermatologist, it is extremely difficult to get rid of this scourge on your own with the help of ointments or creams; the infection will return again and again, threatening to infect everyone who comes into contact with you. The treatment is quite long and must be systemic - in addition to ointments, the doctor will prescribe oral antifungal agents. Fungal diseases are very common. Infection with a fungal infection leads to thickening of the nail plate (and sometimes the skin around the nail), lumpiness, loosening or layering of the nail, and changes in its shape and color. Dirty skin on the hands and feet, elevated temperature and humidity are factors that contribute to the occurrence of fungal infections. This is why it is so important to keep the skin of your hands and feet clean and dry. Parasitic plant organisms include fungi and molds. Fungal nail infections are dangerous because the disease is easily transmitted from one person to another. The fungus can spread from one nail to another. The fungus causes a change in the color of the nails, the appearance of spots spreading towards the cuticle, and the more pronounced the deeper the fungus affects the nail. At the first signs of a fungal disease, you should remove cosmetics and false nails and stop all cosmetic procedures. You must consult a doctor immediately. Mold is a type of fungal infection that affects the nail when moisture accumulates between the nail, which is not properly treated, and the cosmetic products on top. The most favorable environment for mold is the use of false nails, gels and acrylics. Mold is easily recognized at an early stage by a yellowish-green spot that gradually darkens and becomes black as the disease continues for a long time. The nail softens and begins to smell unpleasant.
Infectious diseases of the skin and nails of the feet, as a rule, become chronic. For prevention and more successful treatment, it is necessary that the feet are always dry and clean.
Ringworm is an infectious disease caused by a fungus. In its normal form, white spots appear on the nail, which can be scraped off from its surface. In another form, white or yellowish stripes appear inside the substance of the nail. The disease affects the edges of the nail and spreads to its root. The infected part of the nail is thick and discolored. In the third form of ringworm, the nail bed is affected, causing the surface layers to become unnaturally thin. The surface of the nail may peel back and expose the affected parts of the nail bed.
Peronychia is an infected and inflamed condition of the fibers around the nails, affected by either bacteria or yeast.
Onychia is a purulent inflammation of the nail matrix. This may be caused by failure to comply with sanitation rules, exposure to alkalis, acids, and infections. The nail plate changes or the nail fold becomes inflamed.
Panaritium is an acute purulent inflammation of the tissues of the finger near the nail due to the entry of pyogenic microbes into small wounds (cracks, scratches, cuts, injections, etc.). There are superficial panaritium (cutaneous, periungual, subungual) and deep (subcutaneous, tendon, articular, bone).
Hangnails are small superficial painful abscesses of the skin of the nail fold that arise as a result of sloppiness and careless attitude towards one’s hands. Do not tear off or gnaw hangnails under any circumstances: this can easily cause a dangerous infection. Trim them carefully with scissors and apply iodine or cuticle treatment until the skin around the nail appears healthy. Hangnails are not a nail disease. They represent a tear in the cornea. Hangnails appear as a result of frequent contact of the skin of the hands with irritating liquids (detergents, acetone, etc.), if hygiene standards are not observed. An infection can penetrate the skin through hangnails and lead to inflammation of the periungual fold. Therefore, the burrs must be removed, but not torn off, since this creates open wounds that are most susceptible to infection. Carefully cut off the hangnails with scissors and treat the wounds with a solution of brilliant green. In case of inflammation of the periungual fold, it is recommended to apply gauze bandages soaked in tetracycline ointment, which must be changed at least twice a day. You can treat hangnails with chamomile baths, which have an anti-inflammatory and antiseptic effect, softening the skin. Pour a tablespoon of chamomile flowers into one liter of boiling water, let it brew and cool slightly. Place your hands in the bowl and hold for 15-20 minutes. Then, without rinsing with water, dry your hands with a towel and apply any rich cream. To achieve a positive result, take baths at least 2-3 times a week.
