Moscow. Talk show “Let them talk.” In this studio we discuss true stories that cannot be kept silent about.
Today in our studio we have the Hermit Agafya Lykova , everyone knows her firsthand! She began to flash across all central channels due to her unusual fate. Agafya Lykova is the only living representative of a family of Old Believers hermits. This family managed to maintain longevity and perfect health for many centuries, living in the taiga, far from civilization, medicines, and doctors. Using the power of nature and its gifts, they had truly heroic health and incredibly stable immunity. After the whole of Russia learned about Agafya, our program began to receive thousands of letters from viewers asking: “Ask Agafya Lykova to tell her some secret recipe of her family.” All the letters were in the same vein - everyone wanted to receive at least a small recipe that would help improve or maintain health. Well, if TV viewers ask, then you need to find out her recipes and secrets of longevity. After all, thousands of Russians cannot be wrong - if they ask, it means it will help!
— Hello Andrey and dear audience. Probably, I would hardly have agreed to give out the recipe of my ancestors if I had not known how many people in Russia, and throughout the world, suffer from osteochondrosis and terrible joint pain. Perhaps my ancient recipe will help get rid of such diseases once and for all.
— Our editors and cameramen came to you in the taiga. It was -29 outside, it was terribly cold, but you didn’t care! You were standing in light clothes, with a scarf on your head and on one shoulder holding a rocker with two 10-liter buckets filled with water. And you, after all, are already 64 years old. We were amazed: standing in front of us was an elderly woman who simply glowed with longevity and health.
Walking into the house, we saw that you were preparing some kind of mixture similar to cream. Can you tell us more details?
“My father and my mother knew family recipes, which they received from their parents, and they received from theirs. Many of my recipes are hundreds of years old; my entire generation has been treated with them. All these recipes are recorded in this book.
- Agafya, tell me, what was the last thing you managed to win? You are the same person as all Russians. In any case, could anything be bothering you?
— Yes, of course, I suffered from many diseases, but I got rid of them very quickly, since I have my “family recipe book . The last thing I was suffering from was pain in my joints and back. The pain was terrible, and the dampness in the room only aggravated my illness. My legs and arms couldn’t bend and ached a lot. But I got rid of this disease in 4 days. I have my great-grandmother’s recipe for this disease. So be it, I’ll tell it to you, let the people get rid of their ailments.
After these words, Agafya opened her old book with recipes and began to dictate the composition to us. Below we will talk about how to cure arthrosis in 4 days! In the meantime, let's talk about the remaining dialogue with Agafya:
- What is this product and how to use it correctly?
- This cream is based on Altai deer antlers - a valuable substance that is extracted only once a year from deer antlers. They are mined in only one place, in northwestern Siberia. In the spring, the Altai deer sheds its antlers, and local residents go to the taiga in search of them. Based on maral antlers, I prepare a cream for joint pain, bruises and sprains. Thanks to the healing properties of the substance, local residents in the 19th century destroyed almost the entire population of Altai deer. Therefore, industrial production of antlers is impossible.
-Thank you, Agafya. Many Russians will now get rid of joint pain forever.
This interview was done on June 10, 2016, and we thought for a long time about how to share the recipe, because you can’t just buy and cook the composition of the cream. The cream contains unique components that are very difficult to find. Therefore, we handed over the recipe to the cream manufacturer so that this product would be available to everyone. The manufacturer's product is fully certified and proven to be effective by the Federal State Institution Research Institute of Orthopedics. Our editors and our channel fully vouch for the effectiveness of Artropant and the fact that the composition fully complies with Agafya Lykova’s recipe. To order Artropant, according to Agafya’s recipe, click here
Thank you very much for the recipe and the opportunity to buy Artropant! I’ve been using it for 3 days now and my joints have really stopped bothering me!
It’s so good that ancient recipes have been preserved! I've had enough of these pills! My mother uses the cream. She is 68, and she has more than enough health. Although just recently she complained of severe pain in the lower back and elbows! And now she’s simply unrecognizable! Thanks to your channel for the report!
How long does Artropant last? Pay immediately?
It’s easy to pay, there are instructions and options. It took me 4 days to get the cream to Tyumen! The wait was worth it, as I've been using it for 5 days now. My bones hurt a lot, now they don’t bother me at all! Thanks to the TV channel!
Is it suitable for general health of the body?
I treat muscle pain with it. Improvement began already on day 2. I highly recommend this cream to everyone!
This is what traditional medicine can do! Damn the drugs! Fortunately, the cream costs a penny relative to the treatment itself!
In the case when a patient develops arthrosis, the symptoms of the disease indicate a process that affects the cartilage tissue and other elements of the articulation directly adjacent to the cartilage.
“> This pathological process is essentially a degenerative-dystrophic lesion, in which initial changes in the form of rarefaction of cartilage tissue are replaced by its thinning, compensatory growth of other areas of cartilage and bone and the development of osteophytes. At the same time, pathological changes can occur in almost all joints of the skeleton, and their severity directly depends on the load that the joint has to experience.
Quite often, a degenerative-dystrophic process of non-inflammatory etiology is “superimposed” on inflammatory changes, on arthritis of the joint. It is the disease arthrosis, according to statistics, that is becoming the most common cause that brings patients of any age to a consultation with a rheumatologist or orthopedist. The cause of this common disease is a degenerative process in the articular cartilage, leading to the development of severe deformation and dysfunction of the joint involved in the process.
Most physiologists believe that, as a disease, arthrosis becomes a price that all of humanity is forced to pay for the ability to move on two legs, in an upright position - cartilage is much more destroyed in joints that are forced to experience significant static load. Restructuring the structure and changing the thickness of the cartilage becomes only the first stage of pathological changes, then inevitably follows the stage of appearance of secondary changes - at this stage, the synovial membrane, vascular elements that provide blood circulation at the microcirculatory level and bone tissue are involved in the process. The signs of arthrosis and arthritis are very similar, but during the degenerative process there are never signs of a general and local inflammatory reaction - redness of the skin and increased temperature, fever, or general malaise.
The causes of arthrosis cannot be clearly stated - this disease occurs as a consequence of the action of a whole complex of various factors on the joint. There has also been a rapid “rejuvenation” of arthrosis over the past thirty years - back in the middle of the last century, the main contingent of such patients were at least 65-70 years old, and now symptoms of arthrosis can be detected in young people who have just turned 25 years old.
If a patient has arthrosis of the toes, its symptoms sharply intensify in the evening or occur at night, an unpleasant feeling may occur at the beginning of movement, which goes away with continued exercise. In the case when a patient has a combination of symptoms of arthrosis (rheumatoid arthrosis) and arthritis, the patient simultaneously exhibits signs of an autoimmune disease and signs of joint destruction - these processes mutually aggravate each other.
This combination is especially pronounced in arthritis of the knee joint or damage to the largest joint of the body, the hip. Treatment of such a patient becomes a huge problem for doctors, and it is often necessary to combine drug treatment and surgical techniques (joint replacement).
Symptoms of arthrosis of the fingers rarely worsen the patient’s general condition, but significantly worsen the person’s functional abilities, because with such localization of the degenerative-dystrophic process, the patient’s ability to self-care is limited. In addition to pain and swelling of the joint, increased weather sensitivity and severe crepitus in the affected joint may occur.
The development of joint deformation accompanies almost any arthrosis - the equivalent of this condition are characteristic changes on X-ray photographs, which include narrowing of the joint space, a pronounced decrease in the layer of cartilaginous tissue (this is what distinguishes arthrosis from arthritis), and the occurrence of structural changes in the bone substance. In addition, a characteristic difference between arthrosis and arthritis is the patient’s body’s reaction to the prescribed anti-inflammatory therapy - during the degenerative-dystrophic process, any steroidal and non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs bring the patient only very short-term relief and the degree of deformation (disfiguration) of the joint does not change.
Only in this case is it possible to “slow down” the rate of changes in the affected joint - it is no longer possible to completely restore the structure of cartilage tissue even when using the most modern means of traditional and folk medicine.
The causes of osteoarthritis are varied. The set of reasons that caused the development of arthrosis in a particular person is individual. Accordingly, the treatment algorithm for arthrosis should be drawn up individually for each patient. Without individualizing the treatment algorithm for arthrosis, the effectiveness of therapy will not be sufficient. Treatment of arthrosis is based on the following areas:
If necessary, the therapeutic algorithm is expanded to include other areas.
It must be remembered that there is no one that is absolutely sufficient. The diagram indicates the priorities of therapeutic measures in the treatment of arthrosis
At all stages, with any degree of severity, it is necessary to create a solid foundation through the use of non-drug treatment methods. However, the proportion of non-drug methods will depend on the stage of the disease and the severity of clinical manifestations.

Often, people who subsequently develop arthrosis go to the doctor, complaining of joint pain. These sensations are strong, interfere with movement, occasionally subside, but are generally painful. An experienced doctor can easily make a “rating” of painful areas. And although arthrosis affects any area, it has “favorite” places. These include the knees, hip joints, lumbosacral joints, joints between the phalanges of the fingers, and the big toe. A little less often, arthrosis affects the shoulder and ankle.
The patient's age often ranges from 50 to 60 years. Many patients previously worked hard physically or were athletes. However, there are also many patients who have spent their entire lives sitting at a desk, because their joints cannot tolerate overload and lack of physical activity. Among patients with arthrosis of the fingers, it is rare to find a man, since women are more likely to experience this subtype of the disease. Other joints hurt equally often in both sexes.
There are four stages of arthrosis: the first is characterized by minor changes, the fourth - almost complete wear and tear of the joint. The prognosis of treatment is largely determined by the stage at which the patient turned to the doctor: the earlier the therapy began, the easier it will be later.
And although arthrosis often affects the entire joint, the damage begins in the cartilage inside the joint. In its normal state, it is strong, elastic and dense, so it easily softens the load to which the joint is exposed during movement. With arthrosis, the height and elasticity of the cartilage decrease, cracks and delaminations form in it.
You can interrupt this process, but it is impossible to reverse it. Destroyed cartilage will not grow back. As the cartilage wears out, the tissues around it suffer more and more: the joint capsule, bones, muscles, tendons.
It is for this reason that it is better to consult a doctor at the first symptoms of arthrosis. They are stiffness in the joint in the morning, which disappears about half an hour after getting up and starting to move. And also pain in the joint in the evening, especially after physical labor.
When fighting arthrosis, many techniques are used - from therapeutic exercises to installing artificial cartilage to replace the destroyed one. The latter method is applied to patients with stages 3-4 of arthrosis. Many patients begin therapy from the second stage, when the pain is already regular, but the cartilage is not yet completely destroyed. At this stage, therapy mainly consists of exercises, medications and physical therapy. The goals of therapy are as follows.
Pain relief. Non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs or NSAIDs contribute to this. Their effect is immediate, so during an exacerbation they are quite effective. But they should not be taken for a long time, since they have serious side effects (for example, hemorrhages in the stomach and pressure changes). In addition, while alleviating pain, NSAIDs have a negative effect on cartilage and may subsequently even aggravate painful processes.
Therapeutic exercises also help alleviate the pain slightly. Helps strengthen the muscles around the joint, improving its mobility. They should be done every day, not missed, except during periods of exacerbation.
Eliminate inflammatory processes. This task is also assigned to NSAIDs. In case of severe inflammation, injections of glucocorticoid hormones into the joint are possible. But in our country they are sometimes abused. Patients, realizing that injections alleviate pain, persuade doctors to give an injection. But such therapy is not allowed without indications! Injections in the process of eliminating inflammation and pain have a bad effect on the metabolism in cartilage tissue. When the injection stops working, the disease often gets worse. Also, penetration into the joint itself can be fraught with infection and new inflammation.
Interrupting the destruction of cartilage is the main goal of therapy. Chondroprotectors are used to maintain cartilage. Their basic compounds are chondroitin sulfate and glucosamine (included in combination or separately). Promote the restoration of cartilage tissue and prevent its destruction, improving metabolism.
Nowadays, certain chondroprotectors have begun to include sodium hyalurinate and sulfur. Sulfur has anti-inflammatory properties, so taking medications containing it helps alleviate pain and stop inflammation. At the same time, NSAIDs are consumed less, which reduces the risk of side effects - chondroprotectors have fewer of them than NSAIDs, the main one being individual intolerance.
Thanks to sodium hyalurinate, moisture is retained in the joint. The joint is 80% water, which softens the load on it. During the process of arthrosis, some of the moisture decreases. Medicines containing sodium hyalurinate partially restore water balance.
Therapeutic exercises also help strengthen cartilage. During the exercises, blood circulation in the joint improves and the cartilage receives enough useful substances it requires for renewal. Massage can bring some improvement, however, there are many contraindications for it, so it is performed on the advice of an experienced specialist.
Ballerinas and boxers, football players and miners...What do people of these professions have in common? That's right, an expensive price to pay for intense physical activity, which makes itself felt by rheumatic pain in the joints. Why do my joints hurt? And we will look at how to deal with this in this article.
Every sixth person on the planet suffers from osteoarthritis. Doctors believe that the “epidemic” cannot be avoided. Its reason is trivial - inevitable aging. With age, degradation and destructive changes in cartilage tissue occur. Gradually, the cartilage becomes less elastic, brittle and brittle, and loses its shock-absorbing properties and resistance to stress. For example, in people under 45 years of age, this disease occurs only in three percent of cases. And at an older age - after 45 years - in 30 percent. The number of patients with arthrosis in the group of people over 65 years of age increases to 70 percent!
The pathological process can be caused by heavy physical activity or microtrauma. Heredity can also play a certain role, and arthrosis is transmitted through the female line, from mother to daughter. Often the disease develops in people suffering from diseases of the endocrine system, obesity, gout, and diabetes.
Arthrosis can be called an occupational disease of miners and football players. They more often complain of pain in the knee joints. Ballerinas are worried about arthrosis of the ankle joint. Workers who use jackhammers develop arthrosis in the shoulder and elbow joints. Boxers have pain in the joints of their hands, and secretaries-typists have pain in the joints of their hands. The peculiarity of the disease is that it affects all tissues of the joint, even the synovial membrane, periarticular muscles and intra-articular ligaments, and the joint capsule. It is impossible to forget about the disease; it will remind you of itself with pain at the slightest movement or physical activity. To protect themselves from pain, people involuntarily limit their range of motion, hence stiffness and passivity. Sometimes when moving, a characteristic crunching sound is heard in the joints, and they often swell.
To diagnose diseases of the musculoskeletal system, X-ray, MRI, and ultrasound methods are used. According to a specialist in the field of ultrasound diagnostics of joints, among the pathologies of the musculoskeletal system, the sad leader belongs to traumatic and inflammatory diseases of the joints: hip, knee, shoulder.
The possibilities of ultrasound diagnostics are quite wide and allow you to determine the presence or absence of inflammation. This is important for developing treatment tactics. Ultrasound “sees” accumulations of fluid inside the joint, various disorders in the ligamentous apparatus that occur with arthrosis as a result of metabolic disorders. Often during the cold season, people complain of pain in their knees, since arthrosis causes increased sensitivity of the joints to cold.
The appearance on the market of pharmacological drugs - chondroprotectors - has become a real revolution in rheumatology. They contain active substances whose molecules are identical to cartilage tissue, so they fit organically into its structure. Systematic use of such drugs helps patients not only stop the destruction of joint tissue, but also promote their restoration. Clinical trials have proven that a good effect is achieved thanks to hyaluronic acid derivatives produced for administration inside the joint. These drugs have an analgesic effect and help improve joint function in arthrosis, as well as after surgery. The use of these drugs can significantly delay or even cancel surgical treatment.
An effective remedy for effective and quick relief of joint inflammation is an injection of a glucocorticosteroid drug. This procedure is performed once and is prescribed only by a doctor! Most patients experience significant progress after the first injection. Unfortunately, most surgeons and traumatologists who treat arthrosis (although such patients should be managed by a rheumatologist) give unreasonably frequent injections of glucocorticosteroids. In fact, these injections into the joint do not treat arthrosis, but only relieve inflammation. Moreover, frequent administration of steroids harms the joints.
The opinion about the fatality of this chronic disease is very common, but it is wrong. Complete disability is extremely rare, and many people experience joint problems only occasionally. Speaking about the incurability of arthrosis, they mean the impossibility of regressing the changes that have occurred in the joints.
The appearance of initial signs of the disease is a signal to change existing stereotypes. First, you need to reduce the movements that cause pain. For arthrosis of the knee and hip joints, it is necessary to dose uphill climbing, fast walking, squats, carrying and lifting weights, jumping, and running.
It is equally important to avoid fixed postures - cross-legged, standing, sitting, because... blood flow to the joints deteriorates and nutrition of the cartilage is delayed. It is necessary to observe the change in the rhythm of physical activity so that loads are replaced by times of rest. It is necessary to relax the joints of the legs while sitting or lying down, performing several exercises (bicycle, extension, flexion) to restore blood circulation.
Joint diseases are not a reason to forget about an active life. The lack of activity should be compensated for by movements that do not overload the deformed cartilage, but affect neighboring muscles. This will help maintain normal mobility, better blood circulation and strengthen cartilage tissue.
Massage is an excellent weapon for improving well-being, but its ability to “treat” joints is greatly exaggerated. Physiotherapy methods are varied; for arthrosis, the gentle effects of magnetic therapy, electrophoresis, and ultrasound treatment are indicated. But don’t delude yourself, these are just additional funds. Rehabilitation and sanatorium-resort treatment are very effective, especially in the first stages of the disease. After all, a complex of procedures is used here using therapeutic mud, physiotherapy and massage.
A typical sign of arthrosis is pain in the affected joint. It intensifies with movement and subsides with rest.
There are many causes of arthrosis. Articular cartilage loses its elasticity and performance as a result of:
Osteoarthritis of the knee joint , also known by other names as gonarthrosis, osteoarthritis of the knee joint, deforming arthrosis of the knee joint, not only leads to deformation of the knee, but also gradually destroys the articular cartilage. Osteoarthritis of the knee joint can be either unilateral or bilateral.
This is predominantly a disease of women over 45 years of age, especially those who are overweight or have pathology of the veins (varicose veins), which affects men who are overweight, metabolic disorders in the body or venous diseases (spasms of blood vessels and leg muscles). The risk of its occurrence in people who have received injuries (fractures, dislocations, bruises, damage to the meniscus) during physical training.
In almost 90% of cases, the cause of arthrosis is damage to the meniscus. Cartilage tissue becomes thinner with age. Exercises that cause the greatest harm to the knees (running, squats) must be replaced with others.
At the early stage of gonarthrosis, mild pain occurs when moving, but no changes are visible.
The middle stage is characterized by acute pain with any movement, the knee does not bend.
After stopping the movement, the pain does not stop; on the x-ray you can see many osteophytes (the common and not entirely correct name: “salt deposits”).
This is not really a diagnosis. Arthrosis of the joint most often begins with patellofemoral syndrome. With it, the pain covers the front side of the knee joint and intensifies with active movement (jumping, running, squats, walking up the stairs). there is a feeling of stiffness in the kneecap.
The pain worsens when a person sits on a chair with his legs bent.
Treatment for patellofemoral arthrosis of the knee involves reducing the load on the knees. During physical activity, it is recommended to use special devices for the knee joints - corsets, bandages.
Dr. Bubnovsky proposed a unique method, which consists in refusing to use drugs and surgery. Instead, the amount of joint fluid that interferes with the functioning of the knee should be reduced, the patient should be prescribed kinesitherapy, physiotherapy, and instead of painkillers, ice can be applied to the damaged area.
Treatment of arthrosis according to Evdokimenko
Rheumatologist Evdokimenko prescribes a complex of medications (non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs, chondroprotective drugs for joints, pain-relieving ointments and creams, intra-articular injections in the knee) and physiotherapeutic procedures (minor physical activity, manual therapy).
Doctors like to restrict their patients and often prohibit them from eating certain foods. Sometimes their recommendations are very effective, for example, when they recommend giving up sugary drinks and smoking.
The rest should listen to the doctors if tests have shown that you have a predisposition to this disease and therefore exclude harmful foods from your diet and, conversely, include in your menu: cheese, cottage cheese, jelly, jellied meat, chicken, fish, vegetables, legumes, nuts and various cereals
Arthrosis is a disease in which degenerative processes occur in the cartilage tissue of joints and bones. The disease causes pain during physical activity, walking, and in its advanced stage the pain is bothersome even at rest. It becomes difficult for the patient to walk without assistance or a cane.
Arthrosis of the leg joints should be treated so as not to end up on the operating table and become disabled. Medicine, official and alternative, offers conservative treatment of arthrosis, effective methods and methods. It is important to understand that the treatment of arthrosis must be comprehensive.
There are many causes of the disease. Arthrosis affects professional athletes, elderly people, those who are obese, and have metabolic disorders. Arthrosis is curable.
To cure arthrosis, you should take medications, go to physiotherapeutic procedures, do therapeutic exercises, and use traditional methods of treatment at home. To recognize the stage of arthrosis, it is worth taking an x-ray; if necessary, arthrosis is detected using magnetic resonance therapy (MRI). Today, any clinic will offer such services. It is better to treat arthrosis at a sanatorium-resort treatment. The clinic will issue a sick leave certificate and a referral for treatment. Arthrosis will be healed after complete comprehensive treatment.
IT IS IMPORTANT TO KNOW! The only remedy for JOINT PAIN, arthritis, arthrosis, osteochondrosis and other diseases of the musculoskeletal system, recommended by doctors! Read more.
The fight against arthrosis begins with taking medications - non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs, which at the first stage of treatment will relieve the source of inflammation and pain.
NSAIDs are intended to relieve severe pain due to arthrosis of the knee and hip joint. A common pain reliever is Diclofenac. Quickly relieves fever, pain, stops the inflammatory process. Available in the form of ampoules for intramuscular injection, in the form of tablets, for oral administration. Also as a patch, ointment for local anesthesia of the knee and hip joints. Diclofenac is not a cure for arthrosis, but anti-inflammatory drugs are necessary to move on to the next stages of treatment.
Diclofenac has established itself as a drug that helps patients with arthrosis in the acute stage, but it is not able to cure the disease.
If Diclofenac relieves the symptoms of the disease, then chondroprotectors treat the diseased joint, restoring cartilage and bone tissue. Before treating arthrosis with drugs, diagnosis is necessary. It is necessary to make an accurate diagnosis, since arthrosis can be of different types and localized in different joints. For example, spondyloarthrosis, chondrosis - diseases of the joints of the spine, can develop in the cervical, thoracic, and lumbar regions. Coxarthrosis is arthrosis of the hip joint, gonarthrosis is the arthrosis of the knee.
To make a diagnosis, the clinic will offer to undergo diagnostics. You will need to take an X-ray of the diseased joint, an MRI, and donate blood for a general analysis. When the diagnosis is made, treatment with chondroprotectors will be prescribed:
A medicine indicated for joint disease, chondrosis or spondyloarthrosis is milgamma. This is not a chondroprotector, but a drug containing B vitamins. Milgamma is indicated for arthrosis, since B vitamins are necessary for diseases of the spine, joints, and bones.
It is not difficult to completely restore JOINTS! The most important thing is to rub this into the sore spot 2-3 times a day.
How to deal with arthrosis besides medications? This is what physiotherapy is for. The clinic where you are being seen must have physiotherapy equipment. The clinic can give a referral for sanatorium treatment (by issuing a sick leave), where a full range of procedures is carried out:
Physiotherapy treatment can begin only after a diagnostic examination - x-ray, MRI.
Arthrosis and sports are compatible. We are talking about therapeutic exercises, swimming, cycling, walking in the fresh air. Aggressive sports will harm your joints. Football, heavy lifting, fast, exhausting running are dangerous. It is useful to do yoga, Pilates, and water aerobics.
Professional athletes are often caught off guard by arthrosis. They have to stop their sports career and take up coaching. The consequences of heavy loads and injuries make themselves felt. This does not mean that you need to stop doing gymnastics.
It is especially indicated if the patient has obesity, a metabolic disorder, which can result in gout. Obesity has great consequences for the health of the legs, joints, and the body as a whole. It’s worth starting to do therapeutic exercises. There are different methods of treating arthrosis with gymnastics. For example, you can study according to the method of Dr. Popov, Bubnovsky. Each patient chooses the appropriate method for himself. Don't forget to consult your doctor!
Folk remedies and alternative medicine methods are effective in the treatment of arthrosis:
The fight against arthrosis should begin with prevention. It includes:
Another sign is stiffness in the joints, especially after a night's sleep, or as a result of being in one position for a long time.
A dry crunch with severe pain in the joint also indicates the presence of arthrosis.
Over time, the joint swells and becomes deformed. Deformity occurs at the last stage of the disease, when the joint space disappears, osteophytes grow on the joint and synovial fluid accumulates.
Arthrosis of the joints can affect not only the articular cartilage, but also the entire joint, as well as all other parts: ligaments, capsule, subrochondral bone, particular muscles and synovium. Cartilage can undergo various kinds of changes (cracks, fibrillations, ulcerations and thickening of the entire articular surface).
In the early stages of the disease, the damaged cartilage tissue becomes inflamed, and this condition is called arthrosis-arthritis. This is precisely what leads to subsequent damage and deformation (the most advanced stage of the disease).
According to the localization, arthrosis of the joints is divided into forms:
For reasons of its development it is divided into:
The occurrence of arthrosis is not a natural process; its degree of progression can be determined by genetic factors, such as: defects in a gene called collagen 2, female gender, disease of bone and joint tissue at birth. Also, the development of arthrosis of the joints can be caused by such reasons as: age over 40 years, excess weight, lack of estrogen in the female body, previous joint surgeries, existing joint diseases, joint injuries and major physical problems.
Now let's look at all these reasons in more detail.
1. A gene defect called collagen 2 is a major component of the cartilage framework, which can lead to complete degeneration of the joint.
2. In women, arthrosis of the interphalangeal joints, in other words, Heberden’s and Bashar’s nodes are 10 times more common than in men. This is most often a hereditary disease and is transmitted through the female line.
3. Diseases of the musculoskeletal system: dysplasia, joint hypermobility, flat feet, etc. lead to disruption of the load axes and chronic trauma to the cartilage.
1. Arthrosis begins to appear in people aged approximately 30-40 years, since at this time the function of chondrocytes is partially reduced, the fibers of the cartilage framework weaken. It is known that 27 percent of people over 50 years old suffer from arthrosis.
2. Excess weight also puts stress on the joints, especially the kneecaps, so obese people are more likely to be at risk.
3. During the postmenopausal period, the female body does not produce enough estrogen, which makes the immune system more susceptible to diseases.
4. Joint surgeries are not in vain; they also lead to arthrosis.
5. Diseases acquired with age (inflammation, neurogenic destruction and metabolic disorders) seem to “accumulate” signs of arthrosis and gradually destroy the joint from the inside.
1. Dislocations, internal fractures, malnutrition, chronic microtrauma of cartilage also pose a danger to the health of cartilage tissue.
2. Physical overload has a bad effect on bone tissue and can deform it in a couple of years and lead to complete exhaustion of the body, since it will have to constantly struggle with pain and discomfort.
Each type of arthrosis is characterized by certain symptoms:
As mentioned earlier, this disease begins to manifest itself from the age of 30-40, but it is possible that young people can also have inflammation of the joint tissues, so early diagnosis in this case will not hurt.
Of course, treatment of this kind of disease requires constant consultation with an experienced specialist, but this does not exclude treatment with folk remedies, since the healing process can last for years, but we do not have the opportunity to carry it out in a hospital bed.
If you decide to be treated at home, do not under any circumstances exclude regular visits to the doctor, since he is the one who can inform you about the results of treatment and prescribe additional medications that are in harmony with traditional medicine recipes.
For treatment, of course, a certain herbal infusion is given, which includes a number of plants such as:
It is recommended to drink 2 glasses of this tincture before breakfast.
You can also use the following infusions for the treatment of joint arthrosis:
If you have arthrosis of the hand joints, then the following compress recipes will suit you: 1 tbsp. l. honey and 1 tbsp. l. Mix flour, apply the mixture to a piece of linen and apply it to the sore spot. Then you need to wrap your hands.
Infuse the dandelion heads in vodka or medical alcohol (12 days) and lubricate the affected areas with this infusion, rubbing for 5 minutes until the effect is hot, and at night you need to wrap everything in a warm linen blanket.
If you have arthrosis of the joints of the hands and feet, then warm baths in hay dust will be very useful for this disease. Required: Brew 4-5 handfuls of dust (flowers, seeds, stems, leaves), cover the container with a lid and let cool to 30-32 degrees. Taking a bath will last 20-30 minutes.
Foot baths, which are prepared as follows, also have a healing effect. Warm malt squeezes are placed in the tub. Then you need to lower your legs there and keep them in this state for 20-30 minutes. You can also make a bath using grape marc.
Boil 20 fresh cyclamen tubers in 10 liters of water. Pour 1-2 liters of the broth into another container, and let the remaining liquid cool and do not strain, as it will be useful later. First, immerse your hands in water for 30 minutes, then your feet. Pour the decoction from another vessel onto your head 3 times. This procedure must be repeated until the pain subsides. This water can be used several times, the main thing is to warm it up before use.
And finally, I would like to say that arthrosis of the joints requires not only treatment, but also a special menu. So, for diseases of the joints and bones, the diet should be dominated by foods such as: meat, legumes, fruits, liver, herbs, honey, seafood. For lunch, you can prepare soup in meat broth with the addition of beans and vegetables. And for dinner it is better to limit the intake of fruits and honey. It is useful to include buckwheat, oatmeal and rice porridge in your daily diet. You can drink liquids per day in the usual amount of 1.5-2 liters, unless there are special contraindications.
Experts who deal with joint problems have now come to the conclusion that it is impossible to say unambiguously why a person begins to develop arthrosis - the reasons for the development of destructive-dystrophic changes in articular cartilage can be very diverse. In addition, in recent decades there has been a clear trend indicating that this disease is rapidly becoming “younger” - if thirty years ago the main contingent of patients were elderly people (over 65 years of age), today arthrosis of the extremities can be found in adolescents or people who have not yet reached 25 years of age.
The insidiousness of arthrosis also lies in the fact that pathological changes in the cartilage tissue of the affected joint do not show any symptoms for a long time - pain and difficulty in movement become noticeable only at the moment when the destruction reaches the periosteum located under the cartilage.
Most often, joint arthrosis occurs as a result of:
Depending on the condition of the joints before the onset of the disease, there are:
Even a qualified specialist cannot always accurately diagnose arthrosis without conducting a comprehensive examination of the patient - the symptoms of the disease are very similar to the manifestations of inflammatory damage to the joint (arthritis). The most common complaint of patients in both cases is pain and impaired movement in the affected joint, as well as the development of severe deformation and deformation in the joint.
Pain with arthrosis often occurs precisely when the joint is loaded, intensifies with significant physical activity, and in the initial stages of the disease can disappear on its own even without drug therapy. In cases where the destructive-degenerative process complicates the course of vascular diseases of the extremities, arthrosis of the ankle joint very often develops - this variant of the disease is characterized by the appearance of pain at rest and rapid disappearance after the start of active movement.
In addition, with arthrosis, initial pain may occur - they are characterized by the appearance of unpleasant sensations during the first steps of the patient and disappear on their own as the load continues (the patient “paces”). With arthrosis, the development of articular blockade is possible - in this case, in the joint cavity, necrotic cartilage is pinched between the articular surfaces of the joint. In this case, acute pain disappears on its own with random movement, which leads to the removal of the “articular mouse” from the articulating surfaces of the joint.
With the progression of degenerative-dystrophic changes in the joint, thinning or complete disappearance of the cartilage occurs - as a result of this, crepitus occurs in the affected joint; it is felt even when moving with a small amplitude, like a crunching sound in the joint. Patients often notice that cooling the joints leads to a worsening of their condition - aching occurs.
Arthrosis of the joints may be accompanied by swelling - this symptom occurs as a result of the development of local circulatory disorders in the area of the affected joint, but unlike arthritis, in this case there is never an increase in local body temperature and redness of the skin, and there is no pronounced deterioration in the general condition. Persistent deformation of the joints with arthrosis is always accompanied by pronounced changes in X-ray images - a narrowing of the joint space, thinning (and not thickening) of the cartilage layer is detected, and with advanced arthrosis, a change in the structure of the bone on the articular surface is detected.
In addition, arthrosis can be accompanied by severe and persistent deformation, the degree of which does not decrease even with the administration of massive drug therapy - painkillers and anti-inflammatory drugs reduce pain, but the degree of joint deformation does not change.
If the hip joint is affected, the patient is diagnosed with coxarthrosis - with this disease the process usually affects the joint on only one side (unlike most arthritis). Patients complain of pain that arises and quickly disappears during movement; an attempt to move may be accompanied by lameness and soreness in the thigh muscles. As the disease progresses, shortening of the limb occurs due to atrophy and flexion contracture - the patient develops a characteristic “duck gait”.
When the knee joint is damaged, the patient develops gonarthrosis - its characteristic signs include instability of the joint, increased pain when moving on an inclined surface or stairs, but all symptoms of the disease quickly disappear after a short rest.
This variant of the disease most often occurs as an occupational disease in patients who, due to their occupation, have to place additional stress on some small joints. Typical representatives of the disease are arthritis of the hand and typists or pianists, or arthrosis of the foot that occurs among hairdressers or medical workers - treatment of the disease in this case requires temporary limitation of loads and the prescription of metabolic therapy in combination with massage and a complex of physical therapy.
A doctor who sees a patient with any type of degenerative-dystrophic joint disease must conduct a comprehensive examination of the patient to rule out arthritis, especially associated with infection (including urogenital) or an autoimmune process in the body. Only after this is it possible to prescribe a comprehensive treatment for the disease, which must include the use of non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs, metabolic therapy, including the prescription of chondroprotectors and vitamins, manual therapy, and massage.
It must be remembered that rehabilitation medicine has enormous potential for treating and preventing the disease - joint arthrosis is best treated when the earliest signs of the disease are identified, with minimal changes in cartilage and bone tissue. In the case when arthrosis is diagnosed, treatment with folk remedies helps to slow down the rapid development of deformities. In this case, long-term use of medicinal herbal teas, which have a pronounced anti-inflammatory effect, and the use of chondroprotectors of animal origin (jellied meat) are indicated.
To prevent the disease and reduce pain, patients with any form of arthrosis are advised to limit static loads, swimming, and also perform a complex of exercise therapy in the pool - in this case, movement is facilitated and helps strengthen the muscle corset around the affected joint. In addition, dry compresses, physiotherapeutic procedures, and spa treatment can be used to reduce pain.
In case of severe deformation and development of joint ankylosis, surgical treatment is indicated - endoprosthetics of the affected joint.
The huge problem of this disease is that the initial signs of arthrosis may be absent for quite a long time - clear clinical manifestations (pain, difficulty moving) arise only at the moment when the destruction of cartilage “reaches” the bone tissue. The most common causes of arthrosis are:
Depending on the development of the disease, the following may be diagnosed:
“> Patients often ask the question: how to determine arthrosis and whether it is possible to treat it yourself. Rheumatologists and traumatologists insist that if a patient experiences symptoms of arthrosis, the diagnosis must be confirmed by clinical and instrumental research, including laboratory tests and radiography.
Undoubtedly, the most common manifestation of arthrosis is pain and the inability to move in the affected joint with maximum amplitude, while in the later stages of the disease deformation and deformation of the joint occurs. Pain occurs and intensifies with load - if the patient develops arthrosis of the elbow joint - its symptoms intensify with active load on the arm, while with rest, the symptoms of the disease disappear in the early stages on their own, even without the use of medications and traditional medicine methods.
Before prescribing treatment for arthrosis, the doctor must make sure that a patient with degenerative-dystrophic joint damage has turned to him for help - clinical and biochemical tests of blood and urine, biochemical and autoimmune studies, and radiography of the affected joint are prescribed. The complex of treatment measures must include a combination of:
