absolutely the same. from long nails, squeezed by shoes. dark in spots, slowly disappearing, but as if from a severe bruise it became somewhat uneven, slightly wavy
Hello! I danced for Christmas) After wearing it for a long time, I put on UGG boots with heels and danced for about 5 hours) After a couple of days I realized that my nails were fucked. c. The big one on the right seemed to come to his senses, but on the left. it began to move away, there was a blood crust underneath it, I cut it by one third, it began to gradually narrow (curl) on the sides, as a result of this pain appeared, apparently it was coming away from the skin. I’m thinking that it will come off on its own or ask a doctor to remove it, but what the heck am I supposed to do?))) And the main thing is that it comes off, otherwise it will start to grow so narrow and grow in. and this is terrible, worse than our problem. And I read that a terrible new one will grow, and for a long time. horror. Although all my life I’ve walked in tight and uncomfortable shoes, it’s never happened that they shed like that)))
check your blood sugar
I was in the club in winter. I had boots on my feet (they never stung me), but in the club I apparently danced so much that when I left, I felt a wild pain on the big toe of my left foot (it’s possible that someone stepped on my foot) .
when I came home, I saw a bruise in the middle of the nail (dark blue). I thought it was nonsense, it will pass. About a month passed, the bruise did not go away. Then I went into the shower, and after washing I discovered that this bruise seemed to be “coming out” from under the nail. I got scared and started cutting off the nail (and it didn’t hurt me). There's this bruise there, like dried black blood. In short, I almost didn’t have a nail left on this finger, but I picked out the black ***. Horror. What is this?
hmm, I'll have to try it.
[yauote=ъDarya] the nails on the big toes are an unpleasant white-yellow color and one comes off on the side, I went to the dermatologist, they did a scraping and the good uncle doctor said that the nail that comes off will not grow back will fall off and I will be poor for the rest of my days to walk in closed shoes and suffer((((((((doesn’t the nail grow back later? many people write that it grows back, who can tell me?[/yauo
Daria, I have the same thing, I don’t know what to do, please help
This is a fungus. A new nail will grow, but it needs to be treated
Do I really care if it grows back?
[yauote = Guest] Yes, it’s not a fungus if bruises under the nails are caused by uncomfortable shoes. Peeling of nails after this is common. Your new nail will grow
Here I have a bruise, it’s peeling off from the edge for now, what should I do and a new one will grow?
Wow, what a burning topic))) Because of my long nails and tight shoes, I also developed blue spots under my big toe nails, although I didn’t seem to feel any pain, I didn’t know what to blame it on, I wondered if I was sick with something. but it’s just that - you need to cut your nails to zero, and not grow them. Eh, I wish I knew earlier, otherwise it’s all a French pedicure, you know. It seems that they don’t hurt or peel off yet (ttt), and the bruises are not all over the nail, but only in the corner at the base. I think it might pass, huh? Health and joy to everyone, don’t get sick =)
Unfortunately, it won’t, a little over a year ago a “weighty leg” of a corner sofa fell on my big toe (it was being renovated at the time and the “leg” was standing near the wall). My son was playing climbing on it and accidentally fell with it, he didn’t get hurt (he was on top of this leg) and it was all on my leg, but I pressed my leg and toe hard, the small corner of my toe did not heal for a long time that I got used to it. And this Saturday, half of my nail turned blue and in the evening a little transparent red-yellow liquid came out (I noticed it while I was swimming). Today a lot of liquid came out of my nail, the nail turned white and this liquid was “sealed” around the edges from the former place of the corner... I think that almost the entire nail has peeled off(
My big toe nails started coming off a few months ago. The "Foot Rescuer" cream saved me. Every evening before going to bed, I generously lubricated my nails with this cream and after 1-2 months (I can’t say for sure) everything went away. Analogs of this cream have appeared, such as “Lifebuoy” and others. But the composition of the cream is different. Good luck and patience everyone.
A common type of nail dystrophy, in which the connection between the nail and the soft tissues of the bed is disrupted. Depending on the size of the separated part of the nail, partial and complete onycholysis are distinguished, more often in women. The reasons for it are manifold. Traumatic develops as a result of mechanical, physical, chemical influences. Quite often, onycholysis occurs with eczema, psoriasis, atopic dermatitis, and bullous dermatoses. Sometimes nail rejection occurs as a result of long-term use of tetracycline antibiotics. It can also be a symptom of systemic diseases, disorders of the cardiovascular, nervous, digestive systems, endocrinopathies and infectious diseases. Treatment. It should be aimed primarily at eliminating the underlying cause of the disease. In all cases, general strengthening agents are indicated (vitamin A, B, iron, calcium, etc.), taking gelatin for 3-4 months in a daily dose of 5-7 g. For local treatment, hot and warm baths with potassium permanganate and applying on the affected areas of syntomycin emulsion, 5% heliomycin ointment (fixation with an adhesive plaster), the use of solutions (1-2% alcoholic tinol, 5% chrysarobin in chloroform). Massage of the affected fingers has a beneficial effect. Prevention. Consists of hygienic maintenance of nails and protection from injury. Early consultation with a doctor and treatment of concomitant diseases improves the prognosis.
I have a job on my feet. Restaurant industry..((You also stand on your feet for 12-16 hours, and when you return home, the nails on your big toes hurt :(((Then I gave myself a pedicure and noticed that on my left foot there was a void under the nail at the edge.. I ran under nail file and almost fell when I saw that the further I insert the file under the nail, the further it goes in.. and completely painlessly.. and now half of my nail comes off.. and this year I discovered that it’s on my right foot too the same thing happens.. :((( I paint my nails with dark varnish, since it has already become visible.. And by the way, I cut off my nails, it doesn’t help.. they grow back again, but in this place, so to speak, the flesh does not grow to the nail anymore.. I treated it with drops for nails they said at the pharmacy "EXODERIL" did not help.. but the truth is that the course is 3 months, and I was treated for about a month.. I don’t like doctors.. :((Can you suggest a faster way to recovery? Thanks in advance.
Hello! I have such a situation, I recently went to my uncle’s private house to help, there were boards there and a board fell on my big toe of my left foot. The nail fell off little by little and finally yesterday it fell off along with the root, the nail did not even turn black. Tell me what to do.
My toenails started to come off. Previously, it was not very noticeable, it showed up as a simple white line, but now I wiped off the varnish and saw that the stripe had increased very much. I looked closer and noticed that the nail began to come off, and there was some kind of dust under the nail. I was very scared, what should I do?
It's not from the shoes! All summer I wear open sandals and flip-flops and the same thing. It's clearly a fungus. I’ll go to the pharmacy and ask what to do and what to buy.
Infection occurs through contact, for example, in a swimming pool, sauna, gym and other public places. Elevated temperature and moderate humidity create favorable conditions for the existence and proliferation of infection. and at home through shoes or household items.
Some time after infection, the nail plate becomes covered with longitudinal stripes or spots. Moreover, these manifestations can be either bright yellow or whitish or grayish.
The yeast can cause the affected area to become so thin that the toenails or fingernails peel off. The ridges swell, thicken and turn red, then gradually the nail skin begins to disappear. The nutrition of the tissue stops and, after which, transverse grooves appear. Against the background of impaired nutrition of the nail plate, mold fungi can grow. In this case, the color of the nail can be yellow, green, blue, brown or black.
During treatment, you can use topical ointments, such as “Kanizon”, “Nizoral”, “Lamisil”, “Microspor”. The cream is applied to the affected areas of the nails and left for a day. A course of treatment ? until healthy nails grow back.
In the initial form of the disease, are antifungal varnishes used? ?Batrafen? or ?Loceryl?. Treatment with them takes from 6 to 10 months. ?Bartafen? used according to the scheme? in the first month they are applied every other day, the second month? twice a week, in the third month and subsequent months? once a week. A course of treatment ? until complete recovery.
If ointments and varnishes do not bring the desired result, antifungal drugs are prescribed? ?Diflucan?, ?Fluconazole?, or ?Flucostat? etc. They are consumed once a week, for 6? 8 months until recovery. Before using medications, you must carefully read the instructions, in particular the contraindications.
This Batrofen does not help, I smeared it and smeared it and nothing, I just spent money. It’s better to drip a drop of iodine under the nail every day for a month, it seems to help.
It’s similar for me - I wore tight shoes all day, on day 4 the skin around my big toes turned red (before that it just seemed to be pulling in my nails), and it was swollen, as if the nail was trying to come out and something was pushing it, but on the side it it just starts to stick out of the skin. Although the color did not change, there are no bruises - I just really got crushed by the shoes. And the nagging pain continues. What to do.
***but this story, perhaps, will console someone - about 2 years ago I pinched my index finger on my hand - I was sitting on a chair in a restaurant and grabbed the seat to move closer, and the seat lagged behind the chair and so I was my own I pressed my weight against my finger with the seat - it was sooooo painful! it turned red-blue-black, it was pulsating so much that I couldn’t sleep - for 2-3 nights I put a glass of cold water on the floor and put my finger in it, otherwise I wouldn’t be able to sleep. Then on the forum I found this topic about piercing, I tried to do it myself with a needle, heated it, but the nail did not pierce, nothing worked for me. That's why I suffered so much. In the end, everything healed normally, I just cut off the bruise as it grew back and that’s it, there was no peeling, thank God, a beautiful new nail grew.
But now I’m very afraid because of my toenails that they will come off. - they have never been so dear to me before).
my history . I bought new shoes, there was no pressure, we had a wedding. and after 2 days I saw bruises on the nails of two big toes, I had to paint with dark varnish so that no one would notice, the nails grew back in 4 months. I thought it had passed, but recently I washed off the polish again and again on the same fingers there were bruises on the floor of the nail. What is this . Now I'm pregnant, my legs are swelling. and my shoes are getting a little tight. maybe it's from the shoes. or fungus.
My brother suffered from nail fungus for a year. He applied everything he could. It didn’t help. He spat. He went to the surgeon and removed two large toenails. Everything healed and now new, beautiful ones are growing.
This is the third time I’ve been squeezing out the nails on my two big toes and I noticed that this happens by mid-September, when I start wearing closed shoes, it’s very painful to walk for the first three days, when the pain goes away, I start to slowly cut off what peels off until I reach a new one , usually by the month of May, half a new nail has already grown, I pressed my nails all three times while walking for a long time. It’s very difficult now to choose shoes, everything that I don’t wear is tight, and what’s not tight, then it starts to hurt, I’ll open a shoe store soon. In one store I noticed that the sellers press and rub from the inside with an iron spoon, and now all the shoes are made poorly. And branded (Adidas) ones can also be bought that are not branded at all!
On the big and ring toes of different feet, the nails on the side of the trimmed edge simply began to move away from the skin! On the nameless one, the entire middle has already “come unstuck”; it is held only along the edges and at the base. And on the big one it went somewhere to the middle both in width and length. The skin under the peeled part is rough and dry, the distance between it and the nail from above is about the width of a toothpick. Tell me what it is. How to cure it. About six months ago I worked out in loose sneakers, and my nails were a little long, then there were such “bruises”, bruises on the skin under the surface of all the nails, but they all went away in a couple of months, except for the big toe, which is now peeling.
it could be psoriasis of the nail plate from the side of the cuticle, it has started to come off and go to a dermatologist
I got it in the summer, after walking around in tight shoes, and with long nails. In general, a bruise has formed under the nail on the big toe of the right foot - at the very base, nothing has come off yet. And on the left, the nail on the thumb began to move away a little from the edge - and there were no bruises. There seemed to be no pain. At first I tried not to pay attention, but then I decided to go to a therapist. The doctor told me that this happens - that it’s not a fungus, and then the nail will just grow back. But nothing changed for a couple of months, and I went to a dermatologist, they did a scraping and found no fungi! And the nurse who did the scraping said that her husband had the same thing - that it was nail dystrophy. But the dermatologist said that it was still a fungus, and prescribed me to alternate mycostop with exoderil. I’ve been using the drops for two months now - the bruise has come out (that’s what they say, like dried blood in pieces of brown color), and as the nails come off, they come off. and I don’t know what to do now, and whether it’s a fungus in the end or not. And, most importantly, how to treat. In principle, I went to the pool on the Silja Line ferry - if the fungus, maybe that’s where it came from.. A friend also has a similar story, she softened her nails and applied a special varnish. and no result
Hello, I encountered the same problem, at first I had a blow to my big finger, the nail was black for a long time, then the tears began to grow again and at the same time the tip of the finger began to swell and turn red, but I thought that I just got it from walking, but now it’s from one more finger the nail comes off and on the other leg 2 more from two
I started applying Lamisil, can anyone tell me if Lamisil is effective in this case?
When a fingernail is bruised, not everyone knows what to do and how to provide first aid. Yet it is considered a serious injury that can be sustained by anyone, anywhere, at any time. Usually, a severe bruise of the nail of the thumb or any other finger can be caused by a strong blow, when something heavy falls on it, and due to other factors.
Let's consider what can be done if a finger is bruised, what treatment is available in this case.
A nail injury will be characterized by the following symptoms:
Until the bruising goes away, the pain still remains: at first it is constant and aching, and then sharp, occurring when hard objects come into contact with the plate. The finger swells and the skin takes on a reddish tint.
As a rule, injuries of this kind may be accompanied by a fracture of the phalanx. In case of a finger injury, it is initially necessary to establish the presence or absence of a violation of the integrity of the bone, during which the soft tissues swell and severe pain occurs when moving.
Damage to fingernails is accompanied by irritation of various nerve endings and, as a rule, severe pain, so you should try to immediately neutralize such discomfort. To achieve this, the following measures are being taken:
If the hematoma is large enough, the skin and nail around it become black. There is a possibility that the nail plate will be rejected. This can be prevented in the following way: the finger must be treated with iodine, wrapped in an adhesive plaster, and go to a medical center. The doctor will be able to make a small hole in the nail to allow the blood to drain out. This procedure should not be done on your own, as there is a high risk of blood poisoning and subsequent rejection of the nail.
As first aid to prevent blue nails from appearing, you should do the following.
There are a number of treatment procedures that also help in the fight against a bruised nail. Treatment must be carried out necessarily, as an accumulation of pus may appear on the skin. If such measures are not taken, there is a possibility that the process of nail rejection will begin and a new, uneven one will grow in its place, which is not aesthetically pleasing. During recovery, you need to provide rest for the injured finger. Thanks to such conditions, the hematoma will disappear faster, and the nail will look better and healthier
After damage in the form of a bruise, it is impossible to treat the nail even without the use of medications. Often, for such injuries, doctors may prescribe the following medications:
The course of taking medications and using medications is determined by the doctor strictly individually and depending on the injury. If you choose a drug yourself, it should be used throughout the entire period of nail restoration. Complex effects will help make treatment more effective.
There are cases when the use of medications is not permitted.
In this regard, it is necessary to treat an injured nail using folk remedies. The following methods can be used for this.
It often happens that after such injuries the condition of the nail worsens. Such a bruise can bring a lot of trouble in the form of increased body temperature, redness and swelling of the finger. If after three weeks the pain only intensifies and fluid is released from the finger, it is important to immediately seek medical help. A bruised toenail can result in serious complications. The possibility of losing a finger cannot be ruled out. To determine if there are fractures or cracks in the finger, it is important to take an x-ray.
After the nail has been treated, it takes a long time to grow (several months). A new one may appear in place of the removed nail in about one year. At this time, it is important to provide all conditions that will promote nail growth. If this injury occurs on the toenail, the shoes should be spacious. Walking without shoes is prohibited. If trouble occurs on a finger, then work with the soil should be done with gloves. When working with various chemicals, it is important to provide all conditions to prevent substances from getting on the finger, especially the nail.
As a reminder of a nail bruise, there may be an overgrown, modified nail plate, obvious sensitivity of a previously damaged finger, or a thin nail surface. If the victim is not satisfied with the aesthetic appearance of the nail, you can seek help from a manicurist.
Proper treatment of the affected nail involves following all the doctor’s advice. Only in this case will the nail plate become smooth and take on the correct shape, which will not need to be hidden all the time. It is also worth paying attention to the fact that if first aid was provided in a timely and correct manner, then unpleasant consequences can be avoided, and it is worth remembering that the bruise is completely curable. The main thing is to prevent microbes from getting under the surface of the nail.
Almost every person has encountered the appearance of ichor. What should you do if clear liquid leaks from the wound? Its occurrence indicates that the integrity of the tissue was violated: the person was cut or injured.
The ichor is a colorless liquid that flows from the wound. After some time, the ichor turns into a film and covers the wound. Thus, the wound is protected from various infections.
The medical name for ichor is lymph. There are no red blood cells in lymph, but there are a huge number of lymphocytes. Lymph is mainly released from small wounds. Its movement occurs from top to bottom. When a person is injured, little or no lymph may leak from the wound.
The human body can contain from one to two liters of lymph. The lymphatic fluid in the nodes of the same name is cleansed. Nodes are located at the junction of several vessels into one.
However, ichor is not only a colorless liquid. A similar name may refer to bloody discharge from a wound or purulent discharge. Purulent discharge will indicate that the wound is infectious. The release of pus helps the wound to cleanse faster. During this period, it is important to provide proper care to the wound so that bacteria do not enter there. Isolation of ichor is also possible from drainage wounds.
The appearance of ichor is normal, if it is, of course, colorless. Its appearance indicates that the human body’s immune system is functioning correctly and is ready to protect the body from infection at any time. Also, the appearance of a colorless liquid characterizes the normal functioning of blood vessels. If lymph is released from the wound, then the vessels are not damaged.
There are several varieties of ichor:
It is known that ichor flows not only from recently received wounds. For example, colorless discharge can also appear in newborns in the navel area. This is a sign of healing in the umbilical area. If purulent fluid with a specific odor begins to come out of the navel, the baby’s parents should show him to the doctor as soon as possible. To treat purulent ichor, an antibiotic ointment or some other type of treatment may be prescribed.
The clear fluid released from the umbilical area in a newborn requires special care than the discharge of such fluid in older people. However, care should not necessarily be provided by the staff of the children's clinic or pediatrician. The baby’s parents will be able to handle the procedure on their own, without outside help.
Thorough disinfection of the area of fluid release is necessary.
It must be carried out several times a day, especially after replacing a diaper with a new one, as well as after water procedures, which are usually carried out in the evening. As a means to dry the wound, it is recommended to use not hydrogen peroxide, but ordinary brilliant green, which is available for sale in any pharmacy in the city.
It is important to ensure that moisture does not get into the umbilical ring area. This can negatively affect the healing of the wound: it will take longer than expected.
Ichor can also be released in older people. This occurs after surgery. The place where the ichor is released is the scars left after the operation. In people aged 30-40 years, this phenomenon is extremely rare.
Discharge accompanies the healing of the suture after a cesarean section. Disinfection measures are similar to caring for the umbilical area of a newborn. Such discharge will accompany the woman while she is under the supervision of medical personnel in the parental home. Therefore, she is unlikely to have to worry about how to care for the wound on her own. All necessary disinfection procedures fall on the shoulders of the medical staff and maternity hospital staff, who will provide the young mother with adequate care.
Such appearances of ichor are absolutely harmless. However, it is important to ensure that the wound does not become inflamed.
The ichor does not have to be removed at all. Gradually, the discharge from the wound will stop on its own, without the participation of the wound owner in this process.
If the discharge of lymph is accompanied by unpleasant sensations or discomfort, the wound should be treated with hydrogen peroxide. Before using hydrogen peroxide, you should carefully read the instructions. It should indicate whether it is necessary to dilute the peroxide with water before use. If you use the drug without first studying the instructions, you can get a severe burn, which will cause the wound to become even more inflamed.
The wound is treated with a cotton swab or bandage. Under no circumstances should you pour peroxide into the wound from the bottle in which it is poured, or apply a bandage or cotton swab soaked in the liquid for a long time.
As an alternative, streptocide can be used. It is sold in pharmacies in tablet form. Before use, the tablets must be crushed to a powder using a kitchen board and knife, and sprinkled on the wound. You can also use sea buckthorn oil or brilliant green.
Absolutely any medications that have drying and healing properties can be used as methods to combat ichor.
If self-treatment of the wound does not help, you should seek the help of a qualified medical professional. He will treat the wound with specialized medications that cannot be purchased independently without a doctor’s prescription.
Special ointments can be used to heal the wound. Adults are prescribed Levomekol, an ointment that promotes not only the rapid healing of wounds, but also the resolution of swelling after burns. Children are recommended to smear their wounds with Panthenol.
The main task is to protect the wound from possible infection. To prevent this from happening, all precautions should be taken by applying a sterile bandage to the wound.
As soon as the ichor stops appearing, you need to be careful not to accidentally tear off the crust that appears instead on the wound. The crust performs a function similar to lymph - it protects the wound from pathogenic microbes entering it. If the crust is nevertheless torn off, a scar may subsequently appear at the site of the wound.
If lymph flows profusely, dressing the wound with an elastic bandage can help.
If the presented methods of dealing with excessive leakage of lymph do not bring any results, you should immediately contact a medical institution to receive qualified help. There are simply no other effective measures. Be healthy!
Yes, do not destroy the fungus from the body with folk remedies. Systemic treatment with antifungal drugs is needed, not only externally, but also internally. And the course must be no less than half a year.
Thanks Kristin for the useful article;)
Kristyushka, you are just super)))))) you are probably the ideal wife_)))))) your husband carries you in your arms! you know everything about the house and about beauty))))))
well, a mask with demixide and rubbing in apple cider vinegar is clearly too much, this is not suitable for everyone... especially since the vinegar should be exclusively natural, and not the crap that is sold in stores
Thank you, I’ll take some of the methods into account.
Crap. Lena! Where do you find so much useful stuff?? It’s like we’re poking around in the same Internet trash heaps?)))) You must be lucky! To bookmarks.
Thank you because. ))) in bookmark. ))))
I will soon have only your posts in my bookmarks
Oh, I wish I could re-read all this at my leisure. Thank you!
Thanks a lot. Sulsena's husband is saved. Only she helps him.
I treated my hair with burdock oil.
I also drip olive oil onto a damp cotton wool and wipe my face. The skin does not accept other cosmetics (even expensive ones)
Coffee scrub is truly a miracle! 🙂 And if you brew ground natural coffee (let it be the cheapest variety) and soak your feet in it, even the most stubborn corns will come off! They are simply “removed” by sanding the legs!
thanks for the info.
oh, cool. bookmarked. thanks
I also recently discovered Vitamin E Antioxidant Edema Cream at the pharmacy. production. there is a whole series and it also costs a penny!) cream for the skin around the eyes, for moisturizing lips, for hands and face!
Clearwin doesn't help with scars or stretch marks. I’ve been using it for six months. There’s no effect.
super collected) really a treasure trove))). added to bookmarks) thanks!
bookmarked thanks!
to bookmarks. I make a cafe body mask with tea tree oil
Sulsena is really good. I was in the hospital, my eyes were treated, they gave me electric baths. And my hair follicles were destroyed. My hair fell out in clumps, nothing helped. The pharmacy recommended this ointment, everything was restored.
I'll go clean our pharmacy in the morning
In winter, the skin of my hands turns into something terrible, crusty and cracked, I smear my favorite cream on my hands, put on plastic gloves (which are sold in hair dyes), put on mittens or warm gloves with fur on top and keep it like that for half an hour until I watch my favorite TV series. After this, the skin on my hands is simply incredible, soft and soft, the best!)) I do it as needed, whenever.
I'll take note
I don’t know... apple cider vinegar for c.?
I bought expensive orthopedic sandals. These are not sandals, but an Italian boot.
I have problems with my legs: mutual flat feet, a bone that appears and then leaves me. A 6 cm heel can be worn without any problems and without a much deserved toe. I don’t know how to wear what orthopedists recommend. Model - goodbye to youth, in which it is impossible to walk. Especially for work. It doesn’t fit with anything and it hurts. May the orthopedists forgive me
If you bruise your fingernail, what should you do? Only a few know about this, because many do not pay attention to such a serious injury. You can get such damage in a variety of situations, and it is very difficult to predict where exactly the danger will lie. What should you do if you get a nail bruise, and how can you prevent serious consequences?
The first thing to do when you get a bruised fingernail is to dip the injured limb in cold water. Any liquid will do, as long as it is cold enough. If possible, run the bruised finger under cold running water. In some particularly severe cases, the pain may not go away for quite a long time. In such situations, it is advisable to keep your finger under water until the pain disappears.
If you hurt your nail and there is no water anywhere nearby, you can use snow to cool your finger. A very important condition for this is that the snow must be absolutely clean, without twigs, dirt, etc. If this happened when there is no snow, then ice, which, as a rule, is in the refrigerator at home, would be an excellent alternative. Take ice, cover your finger with it, and wrap it all tightly with a bandage on top. In any case, everything possible must be done to cool the damaged area of the hand as quickly as possible.
After the pain disappears, you need to very carefully and thoroughly lubricate the resulting wound with iodine. Of course, the ideal option is to apply iodine before you even begin to cool your finger. This will reduce the risk of infection entering the wound, which can even penetrate under the nail plate.
If the injury was too severe and you feel pain that is difficult to endure, and after cooling the finger, the nail still continues to change color to black, then in this situation you need to act a little differently.
In this case, you must immediately find iodine and an adhesive plaster. Treat the damaged finger with a sufficiently large amount of iodine; in especially severe situations, you can use the entire bottle of medicine. After this, you need to apply a patch to the nail. It would be ideal to use a patch, and then also electrical tape. Such manipulations must be carried out to ensure that the finger does not tear off the nail as a result of injury. If the nail begins to darken, this means that a fairly serious hematoma has formed under it. As a result of this, with a large amount of blood, the nail plate will gradually rise until it ceases to be part of the finger.
Due to too strong a hematoma, the damaged nail is rejected. In order for a new nail to grow completely, you need to wait quite a long time: on average, this process takes 6-8 months. Using an adhesive plaster and electrical tape, you can securely attach the nail plate to the damaged flesh and thereby avoid losing the nail.
When you have done all this, you need to go to the first aid station or directly to the hospital. The surgeon will make a barely noticeable hole in the damaged nail and release all the blood that will be under the nail plate. After this, as a rule, the painful sensations subside quite sharply, and the general condition becomes much easier.
In some situations, a bruise can cause complications. For example, there are cases when the hematoma does not completely resolve and suppuration occurs under the nail plate. If this happens, the finger begins to swell and turn red quite quickly. If there is too much pus, it begins to protrude from under the damaged nail.
If you notice such signs, you should immediately contact a surgeon. Otherwise, the infection that caused the formation of pus can spread directly to the soft tissue of the finger and even the bone.
If the bruise is very severe, then in almost all cases the damaged nail plate is rejected. After some time, a new nail will grow, but throughout this period you need to protect the nail bed from contact with chemicals or various types of aggressive substances. Under no circumstances should this area of the hand be injured.
If the nail bed was also damaged when the nail was injured, the new nail may have slight deformities. In this case, the situation can only be corrected with the help of reconstructive surgery. Specialists perform plastic surgery of the nail bed, and thus the new nail remains straight.
The first and most important rule when treating a bruised fingernail is to provide complete rest to the injured area. Put everything aside for a few days and try not to unnecessarily disturb your hand and the directly injured finger. This needs to be done for about three days.
After the third day, the hematoma begins to gradually resolve. As a preventive measure, it is necessary to use heparin ointment. It is this remedy that will prevent the blood from clotting, and the hematoma on the finger will disappear several times faster. Arnica ointment is also effective; it eliminates the inflammatory process in the area of the damaged nail. Apply both ointments to the bruised nail two to three times a day.
For a week after injury, you can do it before bed and leave it on for 30 minutes with a special compress with dimexide. To prepare it, you need to dilute dimexide in novocaine (ratio 1:3). Moisten gauze well in this mixture and apply to the injured fingernail. Next, wrap your finger with gauze in cling film, put a little cotton wool on top and secure the entire compress securely with a sterile bandage.
A badyaga bruise heals quite well. It is sold in powder form. It needs to be mixed with a small amount of water to form a mixture that looks like dough.
