What happened? After an intramuscular injection, a small painful lump formed.
Why did this happen? This may be due to the drug being administered more slowly or quickly than needed. Also, the cause may be specific features of the drug itself - most often such complications are caused by oil-based drugs.
Your actions. Apply an iodine mesh to the injection site and renew it every day until the lump disappears. In this case, it would be a good idea to massage the seal two to three times a day. Physiotherapeutic procedures, especially darsonvalization, also help well. This procedure can be carried out both in the clinic and at home - there are now small portable devices.
You need to see a doctor. If the lump is very red, hot, or if signs of inflammation are visible. In this case, any “amateur activity” is dangerous; the surgeon must select treatment.
What happened? After the injection into a vein, a large bruise appeared on my arm.
Why does this happen? Most often this happens if not only the front but also the back wall of the vein is accidentally punctured. It turns out that the medicine was administered bypass, and this led to the formation of a bruise.
Your actions. First of all, listen to your feelings during the injection or drip. If the medicine is started to be injected past the vein, it is much more painful than if it was administered correctly. Do not hesitate to complain to the nurse - it is better to stop this injection.
If a bruise has already appeared, a regular alcohol compress will help. The alcohol should be diluted by half with water or use regular vodka. Moisten the bandage, apply it to the bruise, and then wrap it in plastic wrap and cotton wool. Remove after about half an hour. This warming compress should be applied daily until the bruise disappears. It usually goes away in two to three days. Without treatment it can last up to a week. Special ointments - “Troxevasin” and “Inzevazin” - also give a good effect. You can make a compress with them.
You need to see a doctor. If the bruise does not go away for a long time, it begins to hurt more than usual.
What happened? After the intramuscular injection, my leg became a little numb.
Why does this happen? In this case, most likely, a nerve was hit. This can happen if the injection site is chosen incorrectly.
Your actions. As a rule, this trouble is eliminated with the help of physiotherapy. For this purpose, ultrasound, magnetic treatment and UHF are widely used. However, in this situation, your doctor should refer you to physical therapy. He usually determines the duration and frequency of procedures.
You need to see a doctor. If the numbness does not go away within a few hours after the injection. In this case, it is advisable to visit not only a therapist, but also a neurologist.
What happened? After the injection, the skin begins to itch very much.
Why does this happen? Itching after a course of intramuscular injections is common. The “dots” left by puncturing the skin are, in fact, small wounds. And most wounds itch as they heal. If itching occurs immediately after an intravenous injection, you need to be wary - this may be the beginning of an allergic reaction.
Your actions. If you have allergies, avoid any injections at home. Both intravenous and intramuscular injections should be given to you by a health care professional. Be careful during intravenous administration. Often, an allergic reaction begins when even a very small dose of the drug enters the bloodstream. If during the insertion process you feel something itchy, or see that some area of your skin is red, notify the nurse without delay.
If the allergic reaction is not severe, you can usually get by with a one-time dose of special antiallergic drugs in tablets. In more complex cases, the drug can be injected into a vein.
You need to see a doctor. Or rather, you don’t need to leave him. Even if the allergy does not make itself felt immediately after the injection, find an extra half hour or hour to spend in the clinic. If there is no reaction or it stops, you can safely go home.
I was in the hospital and had a laparoscopy. They injected painkillers into the buttock, about 6 injections, all in the left buttock, because... it was painful to turn over. I was discharged, everything was fine, but on the 6th day after the operation, my hip on the left, in the riding breeches area, began to hurt wildly. There was a strong burning sensation and numbness. Lying on my side was very painful. My buttock also began to hurt. I felt a lump there, went for an ultrasound, they said there was infiltration, they punctured it, there was no pus. They sent me home to make semi-alcohol compresses. 2 months have passed since the operation, the bumps (there were two of them according to the ultrasound) have not gone away, they hurt when pressed. They also ache when I sit. One is very hard, the second is almost imperceptible. They are 3 and 5 mm under the skin, in the fatty tissue. Surgeons don't want to cut them out. For 2 months I smeared them with everything that was recommended to me, and did compresses, now I went to physio, but so far to no avail. My hip still ache, my leg too. The burning and numbness are gone, but the aching pain is still annoying, just like these bumps. It hurts the same way it hurts after an injection - along the side of the leg, up to the ankle. It doesn't hurt at night. Could a nerve have been hit? Or is it the cones that are being squeezed? But they are small - 10mm and 12mm, located nearby. One surgeon advised massaging them, but after such massaging one of them became very painful and the skin over it turned red, and then a puncture was performed. Massaging was forbidden, although after you knead it, it seems to go somewhere and becomes barely noticeable. What to do? Wait and suffer? Or look for someone to cut it?
After antibiotic injections, my buttock hurt for more than a month, it radiated to my leg, and sometimes it hurt to walk. I massaged my legs and buttocks. But you have already had it for more than 2 months, I would advise you to go to other doctors.
I also advise you to go to other doctors. I was given 20 injections in a row, 10 injections in each buttock, naturally, everything was covered in bruises and bumps, and it hurt a lot, but within two months they passed, and as far as I understand, you have no improvement at all(
buy magnesia and apply compresses every night. helps right away.
According to the discharge summary - what else was there in the first 6 days besides Tramal and Promedol - vitamins, antifungals, iodine mesh, nitrates, calcium preparations, reparants, antiprotozoal, antistaphylococcal, antipseudomonas, etc. - it makes sense to repeat
Apart from painkillers and the antibiotic Cephabol, nothing was injected. I made semi-alcohol compresses with Vishnevsky, smeared with Heparin, Traumeel, applied cabbage with honey - the lump was in place. Moreover, one was sick, and the second one was found nearby on an ultrasound, and now the one that was sick does not bother and rather resembles a scar, but this one, which was found, hurts and is very hard, like a cherry pit under the skin. And why surgeons don't want to cut them out. I saw 4 surgeons and even an oncologist. They only blush and become indignant when I ask them to cut out the cones. Wait, they will resolve. And when. And how to wait if it hurts? No pus, no cut, that’s the whole answer.
I had noshpa injections (they injected me for a week) and the skin on my buttock became numb, it didn’t hurt, but the numbness was unpleasant and lasted for 6 months
cabbage leaf to help. They dissolve on their own over time.
You author is completely crazy to cut out the cones. This is an unnecessary danger and you will already be tormented by dead seams and numb tissue. I'm covered in these bumps on my stomach and ass. some have shrunk, and some are still hard. I was told that some resolve within a year.

iodine/mesh, B1/3/C orally?
and why should they suddenly “fire” at the operating hospital? is it from a needle? operating table, hospital WC? right - x.z. it is presumably sensitive to the cefotaxime used - look at the spectrum of antimicrobial activity (pseudomonas?), select the appropriate tablets, create suppressive concentrations.
other flora? mushrooms can die from mustard inside, ascorutin. protozoa - metronidazole?
. if there are visible signs of deficiency in iron, vitA, E, F - appropriate diet, medications
After laparoscopy, my mother applied heparin ointment to my lumps for a whole year every day. Dissolved.
And I had a paid consultation with a surgeon, he said that cutting out the lump is unrealistic, it sits very deep, the operation is very traumatic, he will not undertake it. The fact is that they injected very deeply and it has not been able to resolve for me for 10 years, I can’t even sit for a long time, the bump makes itself known in pain. I tried heparin ointment, cabbage leaves, lyoton, nothing helps. The bump sticks out and the bruise is still there. So these are sad things. Maybe someone else can give advice. How dissolve the lump. I don’t believe that there is no method - this is the only flaw with my body, a problem that prevents me from living. Tell me something.
I, too, endured the pain from the lump until it became completely unwell. It started to hurt, there was no pus, they removed it two days ago. I’ll say the pain afterwards was terrible, during the operation they pricked me, and then it was terrible, at first there was drainage, yesterday it was removed, tomorrow I’m yelling at bandaging ., the stitches are said to be removed in seven days, and so this painless lump causes me so much pain. And when I started heating it before removal it was worse,
The emergency doctor (a freak) injected my granny with magnesium, and pain and pain began to deepen. They took her to the hospital, the surgeon made an incision, after which she was in the hospital for 29 days, there was a lot of pus.
Four months ago they gave injections to the buttock, there is no lump, but the place hurts when pressed. It stings and itches very often. What to do?
Please tell me who has encountered this? Today I called the emergency room for my son, the temperature was 40 and did not go down. They gave me an analgin injection in my butt. He slept for 4 hours, then woke up and complained that it hurt to sit, it hurt to walk, his leg was buckling, and it also hurt to stand. There are no visible changes on the buttock, only when palpated it is slightly denser than the one where the injection was not given. I called an ambulance to be connected to a pediatrician. She said to apply fenistil (I don’t understand what fenistil has to do with it). The district police officer will come only tomorrow. The question is, is it such a pain?
As they say, every time is like the first)) I tried to be prepared from all sides, both during pregnancy and during childbirth, I asked a LOT of questions to doctors, the Internet, and mothers I knew. The birth was not urgent, but planned.
It's my turn to tell this story. I'll try to be concise. Please under cat.
For happy bloating One of the main rules is that there must be enough Progesterone! So progesterone support must be adequate! My support is utrozhestan 2\300 mg, progesterone 2.5% 2 ml. This means that they put me in the PC two days before the date of May 9th. Pure breech presentation. I’m as glad as an elephant that I’m already in the maternity hospital;) They examined me, everyone in turn asked how I wanted to give birth. She answered - of course! The doctors looked askance in disbelief: well done, they say) it means we’re just waiting) The big bald doctor crawled inside me, the plug began to come off. first day. We’re waiting) together with my roommate, who is already stunned, she’s just waiting for day 8)) I’m going to see the doctor so I can climb some more, he says, nope. wait) second day. we wait)).
More than two weeks passed before I got around to writing the story (and found time) - although some of it had already been forgotten. Well, I’ll write what I still remember.
I’ll say right away that an attack of a pinched sciatic nerve is the most painful thing that has ever happened to me! Further under the cat there are many letters. It all started 1.5 - 2 months ago, when after intensive cleaning of the apartment, my lower back began to hurt. This pain is typical when blowing through the lower back. Well, I think okay, I’ll tie myself with a woolen scarf. I warmed it up, the girdle pain subsided, but there remained a constant pain in the left buttock with a return to the same leg. A day, two, a week, everything worries me. At the same time, there is pain when walking.
I also decided to keep the story of my beautiful first birth as a keepsake. For those interested, look under the cut, there are a lot of letters there :)
A foreign woman ended up in a simple Russian hospital. Yes, this could be the beginning of a joke, but the story is real and creepy. The other day, the Icelandic publication Pressan published an article about the famous dancer Hanna Run, who spoke about her impressions of a Russian hospital. Hannah Rune is a multiple Icelandic champion in ballroom and Latin American dancing and is married to her Russian partner Nikita Bazev. Recently, the couple decided to spend their vacation in Penza. What happened next is described in the article. Here is its translation (CAUTION, THERE IS TIN UNDER THE CURT.):
Hello girls! If you remember, I wrote that at 9 dpp my hCG was 123, and at 11 it was already 85. Perhaps the reason lies in the following. At 9dpp, just on the day when I ran to take hCG in the morning, I discovered, excuse the intimate details, a small lump to the right of the anus. She was a little sore. I remembered that the day before I felt minimal pain there and thought it was just a pimple. But every day this thing began to grow and...
Treatment of various diseases using cupping massage procedures is very common. Such jars can differ in a wide variety of shapes and sizes, as well as materials of manufacture - glass, plastic, ceramics and even bamboo. Plastic jars do not cause any allergic reactions on human skin. They have elastic properties that make it possible to create a dosed vacuum after contact with the top layer of skin. The basis of cupping massage is the reflex method, which is based on the occurrence of hyperemia and irritation of skin receptors with the help of a vacuum created in the jar.
If I don’t write now, I’ll completely forget everything, because... nuances are rapidly erased from memory. A short announcement: giving birth turns out to NOT HURT (and this is the main discovery, and it is absolutely REAL), childbirth is 90% the result of preparation and hard work. So, memoirs (a lot of unpleasant physiology and in three volumes, it is NOT recommended for sensitive and busy people)). I woke up on Sunday, November 25, 2012 at 12 o'clock (it was Mother's Day, by the way;) and the eve of the full moon). I woke up from light, soft, but clearly distinguishable contractions (sensations 1.

From a diary on another resource. I recently re-read it, life happened in such a way that I wanted to remember, I cried. So it is written, with such hope, with such faith. Written more than 4 years ago, but it’s as if I lived through it all again.

In Chelyabinsk, the baby’s parents are demanding 3 million rubles from doctors, through whose fault their daughter contracted a dangerous infection. The mother of little Ira Vorobyova turned to law enforcement for help after her daughter was admitted to intensive care. The girl was taken to City Clinical Hospital No. 1 with suspected appendicitis, but a routine injection of painkiller turned into severe sepsis for the child. The baby had to undergo three surgeries to avoid amputation of her leg. Just a few hours after the injection, a 2-year-old girl's leg began to hurt, and her temperature began to rise.
I already have difficulty remembering my first pregnancy. Conception. I wanted a child after about five years of marriage with my future husband. Just at that moment I graduated from college and there was nothing to do (except for work). My husband didn’t want to and tried to dissuade me in every possible way, saying that my figure would deteriorate (he was right about that). But I insisted and assured him that I would not bother him with raising the child. In the end, he himself was inspired by this idea. Well, off we go. At first.
I’m in a hurry to first complain, and then share a little joy) there are a lot of letters, please follow the cut :) For the third day, my back on the right side hurt. sinned on the kidney or liver. was dying. last night I didn’t sleep at all because of the pain, from 4 to 5 in the morning I dozed a little and that’s all. This afternoon I couldn’t stand it anymore and took a Nurofen tablet. the pain subsided, but did not go away completely, the shooting in the lower back just stopped. Here I have already identified the source of pain - the right bun, the place where injections are usually given (the upper right quarter of the buttock). It became unclear.
After the doctor said you’ll give birth tomorrow, I haven’t eaten anything since lunch, my number 1 fear was of pooping myself))) I got up at 5 in the morning, although I had hardly slept, collected my bags, went to the tubzik again (I thought now I’m clean)). The nurse took me down to the 2nd floor and said wait. SOME AUNT CAME AND WE STARTED PICKING UP A NIGHTHOUSE FOR ME)) because... I was an impressive 114 kg. They picked her up, undressed, and put her on, by the way, without holes, a good white nightie. I lay down on.
Next there are a lot of letters. The story is long and from the stove. The pregnancy was easy, despite the large amount of excess weight. He gained weight after the first birth in 2 months (+40 kg??????). When registering, a problem with the thyroid gland was discovered - TSH 13 and, as a consequence, hypothyroidism and autoimmune thyroiditis. My gynecologist said that in his practice he had never encountered such a high TSH. They prescribed hormones and the weight went down; during pregnancy I ended up losing 15 kg instead of gaining weight. I was active until the birth.
Hello my sweeties! We are home! :) Today we were discharged from pathology. Hooray! The threat remained, arm in arm with toxicosis. They sit around me and breathe. According to the tests, the blood is bad and liquid, there is a lot of protein in the urine! I lost another 3 kg, a total of 9 kg since the beginning of pregnancy. I can’t eat anything other than pumpkin, it makes me sick. I also want hot goat milk all the time. My husband goes every 2 days to visit a woman he knows in Domodedovo and buys from her. Very tasty!:) Screening coming soon. Let's see what they say.
Girls. After the maternity hospital I can’t walk, it’s terrible how my left buttock hurts when I step on and move my leg, it’s simply impossible. I thought it was the consequences of childbirth. But yesterday my husband looked, did a massage and said that I had pain at the point where the injection mark hurt and most likely they gave me the wrong injection and hit a nerve or something. Now I remember, but I really didn’t have any pain other than stitches and my stomach after giving birth; it started to hurt after the first injection. Maybe.
Dear girls, I come to you again with questions. I thought for a long time about what to name the topic, since the issue is delicate. In general, the situation is this: the period is 17 weeks, the tummy is already decent, the abdominal circumference is already 88 cm.
How quickly time flies, it seems I only saw 2 stripes. It's almost time to give birth, ahh. It was bad tonight
My leg is very sore, it hurts from the hip along the back to the knee, as if it’s going numb or something, radiating to the buttock. But the most important thing is that on the outer surface of the thigh, just below the buttock, some kind of bump is felt, like a swelling, and it hurts when you press on it. Visually, you can also see that this place seems to be swollen. I went to a neurologist, they did an MRI of the lumbar spine, an X-ray of the hip joints and an ultrasound of the place where the swelling was. The vertebrae in the lower back are all protrusive; the x-ray did not reveal any particular pathology; according to the ultrasound, there is a small one.
They gave me the injection that week - before that everything was fine... but I’ve been given them for the 2nd course. and then somehow my buttock and leg began to hurt - it hurts to sit and stand up... and press... I applied Troxevasin - I already have bumps there from the injections - it doesn’t really help... the bumps themselves dissolve, but on one side it hurts obsessively and that's all. I still don’t know whether I’ll get to a surgeon right away—or I’m thinking, maybe someone will advise me
Let me remind you that I am in the hospital for conservation; my buttock, lower back and whole leg hurt from the injections. It hurts beyond belief. When you turn your body, it's like an electric shock. I told the doctor today that I can’t sleep because of the pain so and so, she says it can’t be that she’s probably reacting to the weather. In general, I make a mesh and a compress, to no avail (((I don’t know what to do. Several years ago I had radicular syndrome with the same pain, there was treatment with tablets and ointments. But now I’m pregnant.
Yesterday I came to the district with sweatpants. But it turned out that she was not in labor, they did a CTG and an injection of some kind of driver, what is this anyway? What is it for? To be honest, since yesterday my leg has been going away, it hurts, I can’t sit, my lower back hurts on the same side, and when I sit down I can’t sit down, it’s as if my buttock is swollen, did she somehow put it on me wrong? Or maybe this is how it should be? To whom did they put it?
Gave birth 18 days ago?? The lower back made itself felt back in the RD, or rather, immediately after giving birth, my right buttock began to hurt (when I straightened and strained my leg, I could directly feel the point of pain in the buttock). I thought that the pain was due to the injections (the patient was given an antibiotic, without lidocaine, although the injection was given with it), but after being discharged and arriving home, the pain moved specifically to the lower back. At home I started wearing a warming scarf, I seemed to be on the mend, I began to move freely with the baby in my arms, although I still walked leaning in the RD.
Yesterday I spent the whole day on my feet, and even in low heels (stable, comfortable), maybe because of this. I can neither stand nor sit. Pain, as if something was pinched. On the ass, the muscles hurt closer to the tailbone. When you stand, there is a cramp in the tailbone and buttocks. She gave me an injection of noshpa and papaverine. Another papaverine candle. I drank a couple of Magnelis to the fullest. I spread it with traumeel. Got better. I’m very scared for the child, isn’t it dangerous? Well, it’s hard to endure it myself. At least everything would work out. On the internet.
Girls, I am writing to our community because I think that I am not the only one with such health problems (((And I really ask those who have at least a little recognition of themselves, write to me how to deal with this! So. Back. my weak point.
By all descriptions it looks like a pinched lumbar nerve. It radiates to the leg and buttock. It started a little bit two weeks ago, when I was in the hospital and had a lot of injections, then I thought about them, and it didn’t hurt so much. Then, from time to time, it was as if my leg began to seize up with a sharp pain, and this continued throughout the whole day, I walked like a cuttlefish - I couldn’t bend, I couldn’t sit down, I couldn’t even move my leg normally, so I had to step it as if to the side in a circular motion.
09/19/16 it was a month since I had the operation, but everyone didn’t get around to writing, ring. I warn you right away and apologize for some details, but they may be interesting and useful to someone) On the one hand, time dragged on for a long time, and on the other, the month flew by very quickly. What do we have? Recovery is slow, but I hope it's going well. While I was in the hospital, immediately after the operation I felt relief - compared to what I had initially. Walking around is a necessity.

Girls, who has encountered such a pain? I know that quite a few pregnant and non-pregnant people know about this infection. When I step on my foot (in my case, the right one), a sharp pain radiates to the buttock, just to the right of the tailbone. If I sit, lie, or stand, then there is no pain. But when walking and turning over at night from side to side, the pain is severe. It hurts for several days. Sometimes walking is impossible. Roughly speaking in Russian, a muscle spasm suddenly occurs in the buttock into a lump, and when walking, the sciatic nerve is compressed by this very thing.
sometimes my left buttock hurts (it hurts easily), or rather the bone under it, I can’t even step with my left foot, I can’t even turn over on my own while lying down because I can’t move this leg even an inch. What’s interesting is that it’s not the legs that hurt, but it’s the left “butt” on the edge, the place where the injection is given, and when you don’t press this place, it doesn’t hurt, for example, when you lift your legs with your hands and position them the way they should be. and all this happens at night, when I go to the toilet.
At the request of the workers, I’m telling you) Yesterday evening I underwent this procedure in Nizhny Novgorod at the Sadko women's center. We were asked to arrive 30 minutes before the procedure for pain relief. I went with my husband, I was nervous, he supported me well, my beloved, I couldn’t have done it without him! We arrived there, they called me into the office, there was a doctor and a nurse, the doctor talked to me, asked all the necessary tests (smear) and the last ultrasound (I don’t know why, I didn’t have the last one, but one of them, on which the direction was written in conclusion on SSG). I asked.
Does anyone know what it could be? I have already gone to the therapist several times - she doesn’t know, but she doesn’t give directions either. During pregnancy, my right buttock and a little higher to the lower back on the right hurt very, just terribly. Everything on the left is fine. The pain is inside (as if at the junction of the leg and pelvis). The pain is sharp, sudden. Usually you intuitively want to bend forward. During my last pregnancy, I also suddenly had this pain. Within a week it reached such proportions that I didn’t feel it.
Good afternoon, girls! I want to share my story and ask if, God forbid, anyone has encountered the same problem as me, I really want to know. Briefly: Intervertebral disc protrusion is a pathological process in the spine in which the intervertebral disc bulges into the spinal canal without rupture of the fibrous ring. It is not an independent disease, but one of the stages of osteochondrosis, followed by a hernia. Most often it is localized in the lumbar and less often in the cervical region. It all started with lower back pain (back in February), well.
Finally made it. Since September it hasn’t worked out, first one thing, then another. We did Seine in the kindergarten yesterday. The teacher forgot to tell us about this when we took him home. Senya came home and said that he had a bo-bo. I didn’t understand what and why it hurt, I thought that he hit his leg while riding a scooter from kindergarten. Half an hour later the teacher called and said he was vaccinated, don’t give him a bath today. Well, here’s the answer. Senka's butt hurt. She put diclofenac on him. This morning he was cheerful and cheerful, but...
Inflammations, abscesses, and infiltrates in dogs after injections often occur. Lameness as a consequence of the injection can also be an unpleasant surprise. And the reason for this may be non-compliance with asepsis rules or insufficient experience of the person who performed the manipulation.
What should a caring owner know about complications after injections? What to do if your dog becomes lame? Let's find out in detail.
Often, owners encounter this problem precisely after injections. This reaction has various reasons. For example, if a nerve was pinched or damaged during manipulation. Lameness is a frequent accompaniment of injections when antibiotics are administered. After all, this category of drugs is usually very painful. During the period of medication administration, the dog may even whine, thus reacting to pain. In most cases, lameness in animals is caused precisely by the painful perception of the medicine. In this case, the symptom will go away on its own after a few days.
If the dog is limping and there is no redness or bump in the injection area, then most likely the nerve was damaged by the needle. Such damage is also possible as a result of the formation of a drug depot - the concentration of the drug in one area and its non-distribution to adjacent tissues.
In such situations, you need to massage the injection site, but very carefully and accurately. Rub the skin area with your fingers clockwise, then counterclockwise. And do this several times a day. Usually after two days everything returns to normal and the lameness disappears. If this does not happen, then you need to take the animal to a doctor.
Many pet owners believe that a lump after an injection in a pet is a trifle not worth attention. But sometimes the consequences of injections can even lead to the need for surgical interventions, and in rare cases, even death. So, incorrectly given injections are fraught with:
In order to minimize the risks after animal injections, you need to trust the treatment of your pet’s diseases to professionals who know and can perform such manipulations correctly. If you are prescribed a course of injections, then ask the doctor to give you the first injection in your presence. And you carefully observe the execution technique, remember the sequence and ask anything that you don’t understand.
Take injections seriously. Follow all antiseptic measures.
Practice shows that owners can give intramuscular or subcutaneous injections to their pet themselves. And if we are talking about intravenous ones, then only a veterinarian should administer them. There is no need to risk your dog's health by saving your time.
Pain at the injection site is not uncommon. Coping with the problem is not at all difficult, you just need to take into account a few points: if there is pronounced swelling, hyperemia at the injection site, or the pain is throbbing in nature, immediately seek help from a surgeon.
If there are no such signs, you can try to cope on your own. Most often, pain at the injection site is associated with the formation of an infiltrate - an area with increased density and increased volume. It is formed if the injection was made with a needle that is too short or blunt. Incorrect choice of injection site or multiple injections in the same area, as well as failure to comply with disinfection standards, can also cause infiltrates.
The reasons for pain after an injection are that the drug injected into the muscle did not penetrate promptly. This can happen because the needle is inserted too quickly or because the muscle spasms, causing a lump to form. If, in addition to the bump, a bruise also forms, it means that some amount of blood got under the skin from a blood vessel damaged during the injection.
Pain at the injection site, not accompanied by hyperemia and increased skin temperature, often goes away on its own within a few days. To reduce discomfort, you can treat the sore spot with Traumeel ointment three to four times a day, gently rubbing into the painful area. It has anti-inflammatory, analgesic, anti-exudative and regenerating effects. The ointment relieves swelling at the site of injury, relieving pain. You can apply a compress with a gel containing heparin (for example, Lyoton) or troxerutin and dimexide: lubricate the affected area with the gel, apply a bandage moistened with a solution of dimexide diluted in water on top.
If adverse symptoms do not disappear, consult a surgeon.
Pain at the injection site may be due to an allergic reaction to the drug administered for the first time. In such cases, it is necessary to change the drug.
Pain at the injection site, accompanied by numbness, may be the result of nerve damage. Persistent shooting and nagging pain may be a reason to consult a neurologist.
The most serious danger that pain at the injection site can pose is infection of the wound, which can occur due to non-compliance with antiseptic standards during the injection. If pain at the injection site is accompanied by swelling, hyperemia, increased skin temperature, or the appearance of suppuration, contact your surgeon immediately.
During intravenous manipulation, pain at the injection site may occur when frequent injections are made into the same vein, as well as when using syringes with blunt needles. As a result, thrombophlebitis occurs - the vein becomes inflamed and a blood clot forms in it. Associated symptoms in such cases are hyperemia of the skin and the formation of infiltration in the vein area. If an injection is carelessly administered into a vein, a hematoma can also occur if the vein walls are punctured. In this case, the procedure is stopped, the vein must be clamped with an alcohol cotton swab, and a warm compress must be applied to the affected area.
A very good way to alleviate pain at the injection site is to apply an iodine mesh to the area of compaction. The procedure is carried out several times a day using a cotton swab.
If there is pain at the injection site, you can apply a cabbage leaf to the affected area after kneading it. Sometimes cabbage leaves are smeared with honey. Honey cakes also have a good effect: mix a spoonful of honey with a spoonful of butter and egg yolk, add flour. Apply the prepared lozenge to the sore spot several times a day
For greater efficiency, you can apply cellophane on top. Vodka diluted with dimexide also helps soften seals after an injection and eliminate pain.
To minimize the risk of pain after an injection, the injection should be given into a relaxed muscle, preferably while lying down. It is imperative to use antiseptic agents to treat the area in which the injection was made.
To prevent pain at the injection site, it is necessary to use a needle suitable for each specific injection; intramuscular injections should preferably be made in a lying position, in a relaxed muscle. When giving intravenous injections, puncture of veins should be avoided, as well as multiple injections into the same vein. It is also necessary to strictly follow the antiseptic rules - before and after the procedure, wipe the injection site with a cotton swab soaked in alcohol.
